Getting Kicked Out Of Washington Square Mall - Indianapolis, Indiana

- Welcome to the Washington Square Mall located in Indianapolis, IN. Today’s mall video will be a very different one. As of very recent I took a trip to Indianapolis, IN to check out some places. One of them was the Washington Square Mall. So I powered up my Osmo and began filming, I was minding my own business and wasn’t bothering anyone . Then I got stop by security and told me I couldn’t video record and how I need to delete the footage. That’s when I stopped the recording. I told him I’ll leave but I won’t delete the footage, then he began to follow me out and haras me. That’s when I started recording again. He wants to say how he was an officer of the law and how I need to follow his orders. I didn’t buy it. I asked for his badge and he was very hesitant of showing it to me, he eventually pulled out some security badge. As we were walking out he then began to curse at me, telling me how there tired of people coming to this mall and document it. While I remain calm the entire time, I walked out and I left after that. This is NOT how you treat mall guests, the security guards could’ve handled the situation a lot better. This was the worst situation I had to deal with while doing UA-cam. For anyone thinking about going to Washington Square I wouldn’t recommend it. If you do however, just be careful and be sure you know your rights and your law.

Just a few days ago i caught the same security guard (the one who aggressively kicked me out) stalking my instagram page and harassing others… yikes… I immediately blocked him. Talk about creepiness.
What's his Instagram, I'll report him

@@slackingpacking I'm creating a petition to get that man fired
I don’t think there are people who own the mall is going to do anything about it because what I said on my post is he might be on the take and he’s just trying to make sure that his employers don’t get their business out in the open. Namely, money laundering, but supposedly that’s all just speculation
What's sad is that mall was a gem in the Simon Properties for many years. The whole Eastside of Indy went downhill and took the mall with it. I worked there in high school and some of college.
It looked like it was a nice mall. Too bad the community ruined it.
He kept saying he was an officer. No dude, you’re a mall guard. Get over the power trip. But yeah good job on getting out of there without it escalating. 👏🏻
Thanks. I handled the situation very well.
I am surprised this mall is still open.
Me too
Sorry this happened to you man. I also got busted here when I came here last year, but I got busted by a woman who actually tried to grant me permission to film. Unfortunate its becoming into the state now. I would honestly suggest no one visits here now. If they want to keep us away, they will push everyone away from going here.
I agree, I do not recommend anyone visiting this mall if they’re going to treat us like this. Makes me wonder if they are trying to hide something. 🤔 I probably should’ve went into a different entrances maybe I would’ve have better luck.
That used to be a nice, thriving mall and area years ago. People like that guard is a big reason why it is rotted and dead now. East side is even worse.
It looks like it was a nice mall back in the day. Unfortunately the are has gone downhill and I am honestly surprised target remodel it store. I am also surprised there still is a lot of big box retailers and restaurants still open in the area.
Just happened to me, too! They were so angry and hostile the minute I walked in I was so confused
That’s terrible, security pigs in there are so aggressive.
Asking for his badge shut him up real quick lol
I knew he wasn’t a real officer, just a rent a cop.
You did a very good job staying calm and responding respectfully. The guard was exerting his power over someone he knew he could talk to like that. His tone and aggressive approach was way out of line. While it is private property, all he had to do was ask you to leave and you obviously would have. Very unfortunate.
He was very aggressive, he thought he was all that when’s he not. I was leaving the property, and he was still harassing me.
Geez. I don't understand why mall security guards are so hostile. I feel that it could have been handled better on his end. Shame you had to deal with this. It's even more sad that he thinks you're bashing the mall. Hopefully, one day, they understand that what we do isn't a crime.
Exactly! He was overusing his power and trying to claim he was a police officer, when he wasn’t. There’s a difference between a security guard and a police officer. What we do is document and preserve. we do not bother anyone.
They made a comedy about them several years ago.
Haven't been there in years. Used to work there in the 80's. It was an awesome mall! Always packed! Last time I was there, I remember Target, Victoria Secret, Bath and Body Works and maybe a couple of other popular stores being there, but mostly hood rat stores...like a huge ghetto flea market. It's really sad. My mom, sister, niece and grand nieces and nephew still live on that side of town. I hate going over there. I have a daughter that lives close to Castleton Square Mall and I haven't even gone to that mall in a few years. I don't mind venturing out to Greenwood Park Mall on the rare occasion, but venturing out for me now days is a rare occurance...the world just isn't a nice place.
Yeah unfortunately a lot of malls are becoming like this. I’m surprised the mall and the Target is still open.
I went there and I was told I couldn’t film before I could barely get in so I just stopped recording. It was on my other channel exploring with sky.
Been kicked out before. Polyester Police are hilarious. Srs bzns!
This has to be the worst encounter I’ve dealt with.
Especially since these people who are supposed to make people feel safe and guard are on the take considering the rumors that’s been spread about this place being a money laundering front by its owners
I went there and was told no to film but I still shopped around without filming
When you win your lawsuit, you can get better equipment to film with !!! 😂👍🏻👍🏻
lol. I have a little Osmo camera, I thought it wasn’t obvious because I haven’t had a problem with it until I visited this mall.
This was almost same Problem About deleted video part from explorig retail with Andrew he got same problem too Miami valley mall in Ohio but he drive away.
Do not go back to Washington square mall again or get arrested!
I’m not going back nor am I going back to the area. That area is DEPLORABLE!
Busted at 4:21!
Boy that was a rude and unprofessional wanna be and never will be a cop. Great video till a Paul Blart reject ruined it
At least this happened because now it’s a very interesting video. Lol.
Ohhhh wow
However, in this city for years and a lot of what the people in the comment section is saying is true, but here’s another thing that a lot of people also don’t really take consideration of especially the rumors about this place, and the current owners of said mall that the story that going around is that mall is actually being used for money laundering purposes And there has been no improvements whatsoever and the only place that’s making any money around. There may be might be the movie theater, but I’m not sure how long that movie theaters is gonna last from what I’m hearing and also Target, but the only reason Target says is because of the lease contract that’s been binding for a long time. I heard the story from plenty of people especially some people work at the post office who I’m friends with because I used to work over there. They’ve told me some thing like the same thing over there and they didn’t really feel safe delivering packages over there.
The mall is not going to last long at all. They are treating guest like crap, the place is deplorable.. the interior is disgusting.
I myself got kicked out from the same mall for simply playing a yugioh card game and not actually bothering anyone, people like that are exactly why malls are dieing scaring off potential customers like that.
Wow that’s terrible. This mall has a poor reputation for treating guest poorly. I cannot wait till this place gets shut down. I have a feeling it’s going to happen.
I always wonder why sometimes not being allowed to record inside a building is a rule
Not many people know the first amendment and the fact a store and or mall is considered public space. It’s not private property.
What😮
I might explore this mall at some point for this series called SpringCast Exploration, and I think I've got a solution how I can film without them noticing
Be careful, if you do go. Pigs in there are aggressive.
@@slackingpacking Thank you for the heads up
@@slackingpackingsame guy that bothered my asking for my Id 😹i went to walk out and he still was harassing me following me out acting like I wasn’t walking out on my own he didn’t like my attitude 🤷♂️😹
@@slackingpackingI just explored it earlier today, I did separate clips for it, and I didn't get caught
Sorry you had to go through this! This Mall is too dead for him to be doing the most. I have recorded on my phone for old memories sake before at the Lafayette square mall right before they shut down for remodeling and nothing was said. The “Guard” is just a terrible person and I’m sure that Lafayette Square is in partnership with Washington Square he’s just mad because he is going to be out of a job when they do shut down.
Thanks man! This was the worst encounter I’ve ever dealt with. When this place closes. It’ll probably sit in decay and I’ll be exploring it when it does closes 😂. I wanted to see Lafayette Square so bad but unfortunately it closed by the time I got to it.
I did security about 2001-2002, we did have to tell people no recordings, but most the time only the wannabe cops cared.
I would have called the cops and had him arrested for impersonating a police officer.
I was there once and there was barely any stores.
Rent -a - Cop,. When The Burlington Coat Store left , I knew something bad was happening.
I live on the east side of Indianapolis in this area of Warren Township and this whole side of town is a complete shithole. The mall lot just keeps looking more and more derelict as the years have gone on. There used to be car shows there in the west lot back by what used to be JCPenny back in the 1990s and 2000s. Now, I wouldn't touch that mall with a 50ft pole. It's not called Ghettosquare Mall for nothing!
Yeah man the east side of Indy is a total dump but honestly the rest of the city isn't too far behind.
McDonald’s in Topeka Kansas that been abandoned since 2014
What DJ Akademiks and 6ix9ine doin
There careers failed, now they’re mall cops.
They say " no filming" then watch ten years or less when it gets demolished.
It’s like they are trying to hide something
Yea that mall is garbage it's more than half empty and the stores that come in close right away
Thats stupid. U should have been allowed to film.
Exactly! Photography is not a crime it’s protected under the first amendment of the United States Constitution.
