A perfect example of how one’s passion can translate into a career. Rick’s’ enthusiasm for Corvette is so apparent. I went for a new Porsche instead of the new C8 but I am still drawn to watch his videos. Great work Rick!
Thanks for sharing this. I’m 29 and a thin body type who ordered the competition seats with my 2021 C8. I think I made the right choice for my body type, but I appreciate your honest feedback on how most owners would not like it. I’ve been searching for seat feedback and almost no videos exist. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it.
@@joemessman1 Wow. You're almost identical to me; even the waist line. Thank you so much for responding. You've made me feel worlds better about my order. Thank you again!
Love the dance moves!!! Made me chuckle.😆 Thanks for a another great vlog. Love learning about everything Covette. My husband who works at a Chevy dealership here in CO even calls me to ask questions about the C8!!
As much as I enjoy your blog I don't know if I could keep watching it because every time I do I regret the fact that I didn't purchase my C8 from you. Chances are I would have already had my car but even if I didn't your informational vlogs are quite entertaining and interesting. Keep up the good work I know that next time you're my guy. Who knows, I am very interested in the ZO6!?
Rick, I said the same thing about the Competition seat when I sat in one last December. I Currently have a 1986 C4 and the 2020 Competition seat is just as hard to sit down in as the 86. LOL
My C8 is on the train now from KS to CA. I have ordered 3LT with the Comp seats. I’m smaller frame 5’7, 160lbs so they should be fine. Surprised how rare they are as a choice which I think will also make my car more unusual.
I just heard from my salesmen 2 days ago that my car was also in Kansas City I was wondering if it was coming by train or truck. I am in Reno and my Fourteen and sixteen models came by train to California then trucked to Reno
Rick, Great Vlog once again!! Love the hat and the mug!!! Goes to show you that what you’re doing for the Corvette Community isn’t going unnoticed!! STAY💯👍👍👍mike r. in NC
Rick, you always knock it out of the park. Excellent blog. You are so helpful to your vlog fans. How do you (I) get one of those Conti caps. Really looking good. I hope his part comes in before he arrives Saturday. Looking forward to tomorrow's vlog.
Rick fantastic video as normal.... would you continue your thoughts on a GT2 and GT1 seats... I really like your personal thoughts on it.. Cheers from Canada
You were so right Rick about the competition seats even before the C8 came out. But I guess if your going to track the car a lot then it makes sense but as Chuck says for daily driving maybe not so much.
And that's why you are one step ahead of some other salespeople Rick, great information; forewarned on the Comp seat, but not exclusionary if that's what you want (or need).
Plus, anything "hugging" you will soon turn into a pressure point on your sides. After a long drive, you'll feel like someone pounded you with rib shots. You will be sore as hell in the rib area as well as the upper thigh....
Great analysis on the comp seats! I can't agree more! They maybe fantastic on the track but for the other 95% of the time you will be wishing you went with the GT 2 seats. I just want to give our club president a shout out saying nice job on the coffee cup from our club Eastside Corvette club of Detroit. Thanks John!! Love the new hat buddy! It looks FANTASTIC! 🖐🖐🖐👋👍
Hey Rick! Just got my C8 a few days ago! - When slowly accelerating from a stop, it is jerky/pully? going from first, second, and third gear, but after third it is all smooth and perfect. When coming down to a stop again and decelerating, it feels jerky/pully again dropping from 4th to 3rd and then again down to 1st. anything above 3rd gear is buttery smooth. Is this a normal feeling or is it something I should be worried about. The car has 300 miles on it, and just want to make sure all is good. Some people are telling me that it could just be the car getting used to my driving patterns and to wait a few hundred miles. Also it’s more aggressive of a shift in sport and track mode. In tour mode it still happens but way more dampened/ less noticeable
Rick, I think you got this one totally wrong. I am 71 and have the GT2 seats in my C8 and they are ideal comfort for my everyday driver, very easy to get in and out of but I do have my exit position set at the maximum back position.
One question when can we start to pre order 2021 C8 haven't seen nothing yet. Also is that high mount wing aftermarket never saw that as a option. Looks AWESOME and very clean.
The high wing is an additional Z51 option, but Chevy is having trouble with their supplier. You can buy the OEM part online from a few sites. Hopefully they can re-enable that option for the 2021 cars later this year.
Yeah, the biggest concern I have with my dream C7 is the seats. I had a chance to rent one on Turo. It was a ‘19 Z51 2LT. Not sure what seats I had, but my gosh...after a few hours of driving, my back was killing me! What kind of seats are in the C7 Grand Sports? (All trims)
Me Rick, you and Chuck are such great information providers and entertainers. Just love your vlogs. I don’t know where you get your energy from. God Bless.... See you tomorrow Dennis Petrucci from Florida
Rick I've now set in to c8s both of them with the GT2 seats the bolsters are too tight. What can be done? Can't justify the big bucks for a car I can't sit in.
on coughlincorvette.com as all I have it used...any questions let me know, if you email off that site, let the call center know you are from my youtube channel,thank-you
I don’t think the Comp seats would be good for big men over 250 pounds. The wrap around parts of the seat may be too narrow. Getting in and out of the seat is no big deal for me. I’m not usually getting in and out of my car that many times in a day. I am 49 years old, 5’ 11” 190 pounds. I am in great shape and have good agility.
been driving my 2021 for about 800 miles. Seat is very uncomfortable. I'm not a huge guy at all, but the bolsters press tight against my thighs and create a lot of discomfort after driving a short distance. Enough that I've contemplated selling it after waiting over a year and seven months. I may visit a local upholstery shop and see if the can rework the bolsters. Anyone else have any issues? If so, any solutions?
@@RickCorvetteConti they are there. Sometimes they come on but most often they don't. Is there any way to get replacement aluminum strips, though I think they are correct. I measured the placement.
Ok when we ordered our C8's we didn't have the chance to sit in the seats so if we ordered a seat and find it not comfortable what happens. Also what are you doing for your customers that ordered the High Wing Spoiler? Can we ask the dealership to back order them?
Hey Rick, i'm curious about the standard seats vs the GT2 seats, on the web site they look almost identical other than the GT2 has a different head rest design, is the softness of them different? are the stock seats in 1LT any different then the 2LT in comfort (other than the cooling & heating)?... i'm hung up, i always like the base 'vette with a bit more tire =)
We have a C7 Grand Sport and I have issues with sitting on the bottom side bolster and am afraid it would put my leg to sleep on a longer trip. Is there anything I can do to get that bolster out a little?
