Ok Mark and anyone else..a genuine for serious question..and perhaps anyone who actually watches current seasons of Married at First Sight UK can enlighten me if I'm way off the mark....but I only saw the first 2 seasons of MAFS UK and I've not watched any other countries and my entire knowledge is based on talking to friends/seeing the internet/seeing trailers/gogglebox...but right...
First 2 UK seasons it seems like a genuine experiment. They had loads of people apply..asked SO many questions and only matched people if they really thought it was a good match. There was like 3 couples each time..they never met each other. They had their wedding. They had like a holiday together afterwards..then they started thinking about the reality of their lives and i think in the first season they had like a number of weeks living together and at the end..they got to decide if they wanted to stay married.
Personally I'm not a fan of marriage as a gimmick (even though I'm not traditional by any means) but I get it so whatever. I assume most of them can annul and not have a divorce under their belt (nothing wrong with that but seems like a big label for knowing someone a few days 😂). But since then..other countries seem to have adapted it and it became more about the drama and meeting each other and swapping partners and it was basically Love Island vibes but you're married and that clearly got the ratings so now the UK has adopted thay style too and it feels like the genuine intentions of it have gone. Do you think there is still enough to it that you would genuinely consider it a way of finding a good match ??? First Dates or something like that I'm all for..it's only a date and someone gets matched with you and that's that you can decide where to go from there.
Also apologies if my bias comes out I'm not a Love Island fan but i respect that it's clearly popular and each to their own 😂
