Saw Welles a few years back in Chicago and was blown away. Spoke to him after the show. Super genuine very grounded guy and its great to see he is finally getting the attention he has deserved for over a decade. I hope he blows up in a major way.
I reckon his new look and attitude hooked back up with a band like these guys, is the winning ticket for him. He would take the world by storm. And we were all there before the fact!!!
It's crazy how much music im listening to from this dude over the past twenty four hours and he can't get a penny from it because his channel isn't even monetized yet
I tried to tell my friend about Welles and he already new about him, said he listened to him a long time on Spotify, so hopefully Mr Welles is making some money on spotify
Spotify ain't paying him nothing but Penny's.... He needs a small band and a big tour.... Let's hope he's willing to hit the road again soon, if he isn't already@@digginggopher
What the hell are we all going to DO about getting this guy OUT there??!!! It's beginning to drive me crazy that he is unknown... and yet part of me wishes we could always have him to ourselves, and not waste his talent on them.
I seriously just found this guy on youtube a few months ago, and watch his daily acoustic jingles everyday! its become my daily ritual every morning over coffee!
Don't worry. He's far more mediocre than it seems. The problem is that rock n roll has regressed so far that this guy is like maybe kind of ok and everyone thinks he a savior. He'll have to do a lot better to become relevant
This fucker is a force that i haven't seen in many years.... Keep on riding it man, rock and roll will thank you. We just lost the last living member of the MC5 and we need more real rock and roll!
Dylan,Prine,Morrison,Lennon, Ocasek , Cobain.. I just discovered this guy a week ago and really love the bare bones boiled down folksinger stuff. I’m just getting into the plugged in stuff that he’s doing. What a breath of fresh air. It’s kind of awesome as a generation Xer to see this. I think your comment is accurate. He has conjured up many a rockstar spirit.
@@ThePlantedEarthI just found him a month or 2 ago, I like his sorta sarcastic folk stuff like fentanyl and poor, and Olympic opening ceremony, and God Xanax and Abraham, but his normal folk stuff doesn't appeal to me I like these old 90s sounding tunes he used to do I posted a folk song of his in discord and my friend knew about him and said he has been listening a long time to him on Spotify, so I thought I'm late to the party as usual
This just shows how rock and has been dead for years. This music would be rocking today, let alone 10 years ago. Where did rock and roll go??? This is it right here. With hardly any views.
I'm inclined to agree; I've been paying attention to how he sometimes very blatantly ignores music theory, and that effect is well-orchestrated n his music.
All his loud wailing and electronic noise and drums here obscures the nugget of his talent, which in its pristine simplicity is only now is coming to light.
Man I can't believe this group didn't take off. Makes me sad good groups aren't getting the recognition they used to. Especially after Seventeen, that song is a chart topper...
Fantastic solo! I just came across this guy; 3rd song in. Not really my genre but respect and that solo was so good, i went back to listen and watch again. Well done

Heavy heavy nirvana feels from the Welles band then when it’s just him it’s like a modern bob dylan I love it
Even uses the Small Clone Chorus Kurt using on the solo here. This guy is something else.
I formally describe his old band Dead Indian as “If Kurt Cobain fronted Black Sabbath” that normally peaks some interest.
not only are all his songs perfection but these old projects and bands are literally all incrdible BRING THIS SCREAM BACK

This song is so great live!
Wells your a super star! dont let anyone tell you other wise!
NPR can be as biased as they want if they keep music like this coming man. 👍
Welles knows Rock N Roll!
Holy shit, what a tune
This is dope
shredding, a very talented musician; the rolling bone.
that was a bad ass song!

I would say definitely the drums killed his guitar solo. All the crash symbol just killed the guitar solo.
Very good rockin roll

Hes good at both the rock and the folk stuff, this was 6 years ago? Is he strictly a folk artist now?
This sounds like John Lennon and that’s a great compliment, sounds like Plastic Ono Band, rock on 🤘

"Dylan flame or mantle" has been passed on to this guy?? (Or is it possible Dylan could have been asked to "Hold his beer"???)😶
fuck yeah man! He gives me Kurt Cobain vibe. I fuck with this heavy. I love his folk stuff too. He deserves everything good in life.

Very 90’s Seattle sounding, so refreshing to hear this again.
Fuck! That's great.
Someone tell the right who's who this dude is the shit

He's so mild mannered in interviews from this time, not at all angry, neither is the music
