Italian Anginetti Easter Cookies

  • Thank you for watching! These Italian cookies have been in Italian families around the world for many years, mine included. They go by different names, such as Anginetti, Ginnette, Jinette, Easter cookies, Christmas cookies, or wedding cookies. The color of icing is usually pastel or white. Enjoy the music, and the Italian cookies!

    Italian Christmas and Easter Cookies (Anginetti/Ginettes)
    4 eggs
    1 c sugar
    ½ c softened butter
    2 tsp vanilla
    3 ½ C flour
    4 tsp baking powder
    Icing:
    2 c confectioner’s sugar
    2 tsp vanilla
    6 or so tsp water
    Food coloring & sprinkles as desired
    1. Stir together flour & baking powder
    2. Cream together butter & sugar
    3. Add eggs, one at a time
    4. Add vanilla
    5. Add flour mixture
    6. Cover & refrigerate dough 1 hour
    375 degrees until light golden brown, don’t overbake
    Cool in wire rack
    Apply pastel or white icing by dipping each cookie into shallow bowl of icing, top w/ sprinkles

    I’ve never heard of these cookies, and I never knew you were Italian! They look delicious! 🍪
