I totally get how you feel! Especially when I have a very specific idea in mind but don't have all the items I need, Treasure Islands can be a huge time saver and help us get back to creating! 🤗
I can only comment on Time Traveling since that is the only thing I have experience with. I used time travel a ton before since I was working 9-5, go to gym, make food, chores etc. so I really rarely had time to play. When the weekend came, I had FOMO and would go back to all the previous days to check Nook's Cranny, Able Sisters, get shells, shake trees, and more. This led me to a terrible burn out which took this massive update to let me go back to the game.
That sounds like a lot to manage! It definitely makes sense that you would have time traveled and I'm glad that you decided to come back to the game. I hope this time around it's more enjoyable for you and doesn't lead to burnout! 😄
Treasure Islands: I use treasure islands, like a lot lol. However, I limit myself to how much I go in them to hunt for stuff because I dont want to spend my time by being superfluous and getting items I dont need. I’d much rather enjoy the game as it is. Max Bell Glitch: I dont think I’d do this for the reason that I know that it might mess with my stalk market achievement and for the same reason as I mentioned above, I want to enjoy the game. Modding: I hope anyone without knowledge stays away from it, since it can be tempting for many to try and explore this option. Im a software engineer and I wouldn’t even mess with this, especially if Im just here to enjoy the game. Time Travel: I love games that offer this option with benefits. Dropping Items: This isnt cheating. This was actually how I got started in my game. A family member dropped off items and bells and I was able to get started on my island without waiting too much. This was before I discovered treasure islands. 😂 Scamming: Never a good thing and it is hurtful, it can and will discourage a lot of people from continuing to play. Monetary Gain: I dont see the problem. A lot of people put a lot of effort and time and if people are willing to pay, it’s great.
Oh wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your perspective on all these topics! I really appreciate it and I agree with everything you said. I'm glad you figured out how to enjoy the game in a way works well for you! 😄
I have played since launch. I must admit for the first 6 months or so I did not time travel. I was lucky enough to be part of a discord group that was very active. We had people daily visiting to shop and talk to our crafting villagers. We had so much fun together. The game is meant to be played with others. We do need others to get all the fruit….right! I did get max bells once and I think it did diminish the game a bit so I just use them for building costs and gifting. I make myself earn my spending money. On designing a jungle island I needed an obscene amount of termite mounds. Only way to do this was at a treasure island. I don’t pay so I did have to take many trips to acquire these. It was lots of work but well worth it. I use free treasure islands so it can be a grind. Play the way you want. Enjoy and be kind. I’m happy to help anyone out.
I absolutely agree that this game is about playing with other people! I'm so glad that you found such a helpful and supportive discord community. Thanks so much for sharing a bit about your experience with the game. It sounds like you've had quite a fun journey so far. 😄

Omg… Alvin. I have never played a game as much as I do this one. When I wake up to when I go to sleep, Unless I’m working. And I don’t sleep much, so the majority of my time is on my island.
Honestly, treasure islands have kept me from getting burnt out. Grinding materials and using the crafting table wasn't fun -- having unlimited bells for materials and NMTs for trading has made life better.
I used to be staunchly anti-time travel. But then I started getting into designing my island and realized it's necessary. I am building my castle TODAY, not over the next 5 days lol. I also use treasure islands because it's annoying when you want to say, build a wall of simple panels, and you need the black ones, and the only one in your catalogue is white. So yeah, if I need 50 black simple panels, I'm going to a treasure island for sure.
I honestly buy items off of people it takes so much time to find ones I look for and I just don’t have time. As a full time accounting student I barely get free time and I don’t want to spend hours trying to find a simple item. I’m willing to spend a couple bucks to buy currency or items so I can focus on building my dream island. Keep up the amazing work love these videos! :)
I'm glad I found this little video, honestly I didn't know how extensive the scope of animal crossing exploits ran. A lot of my personal enjoyment from this game comes from getting to arrange a beautiful island and I often feel stifled and frustrated by having to rely on the chance of a DIY recipe showing up when it might be integral to the vision I have for my town. Likewise building things like inclines, bridges and other infrastructure are features that vastly streamline my ability to explore naturally and do my chores the intended way so time travelling has been essential for me. It boils down to my playstyle of the game not matching the slow pace in which decorative and functional items and features are given to the player. Now that I'm an adult and work a full time job I just don't have time or energy to play consistently every day, and its easy to burn out and not accomplish what you want to when this is the only way you can play IMO. Really good video!
I'm right there with you! It's a lot more enjoyable to me to go to treasure islands and time travel to speed things up. Just part of my playstyle. Haha! I'm glad that you enjoyed the video! Thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing a bit about your experience with the game. I appreciate it! 😄
I time travel, treasure island but have never thought of modding. It scares me to think what might happen, but the islands I’ve seen look amazing. I actually got lost in one b4
ive never really been into "cheating", i do time travel but thats because i play too late or just get bored, i wanna play this game for years so i dont wanna get things quicker
I usually mod my games exactly to my liking. It’s so weird for me to play vanilla and I don’t really like limiting myself hardcore. I used to time travel a lot, but now I’m playing at a slower pace but I think it’s because I’m not working on any building projects. I think once I get onto building big time again I’ll speed up once again. Cheating or not is such a personal thing, I don’t even get why it’s a conversation that calls for condemnation. Like someone else is messing with their single player game wth? This doesn’t concern other people in a way
Just so yk guys Nintendo said they dc if you time travel but they do care if you spend actual money for in game items so don't go buy bells on eBay with your own money because you'll make Nintendo sad 😔🤣
I've been using my 2nd switch and acnhmobilespawner to edit my inventory then local play with my 2 switches and just drop everything i got on my island everytime i redesign anything on my island because i just can't be bothered to farm materials for hours and it resulted in me playing acnh way more than i did before
Personally, going to treasure islands increases the quality of my game play. It's because treasure islands give you access to items in the game otherwise I would have never known about or taken ten million years to get. So it enhances the gameplay for me in that I am able to continue decorating, whereas before treasure islands I was burnt out because I had no idea or no way to get more furniture otherwise.
One thing I really love about Bethesda is the way that they embraced the modding community - especially with Skyrim. I hope Nintendo does something similar with animal crossing one day, it gives players a completely new and unique experience depending on what mods they decide to use& keeps people interested in the game. Also I had no idea about the max bells cheat 👀
I think it would be awesome if modding became more permissible in Animal Crossing! Some of the creations that I've seen made me so excited and curious about what the game could grow to become. I'm glad that other games and developers have been more welcoming of modders. It's awesome to see how much untapped potential games have. 🥳
I kind of time travel. I am never on the current day but I don't hop around or go back to a day I already played. If I miss a day or even months like it was before 2.0 I play each day. Some times I get done 1 day and other times I can do a week in a weekend. I am also playing 5 alts. The one thing you mentioned was Max Bells, I did it just to see it and regretted it! I was not hurting for BELLS I had more then I needed already. Heck I got over 600K Nook miles when 2.0 drooped to get miles your earning bells. Max Bells made it hard to play. You catch anything you cant sell it you cant do a money tree. Yes you can buy buy buy but that just fills your inventory.
Oh no! That's awful! I'm so sorry that happened to you. It's definitely important to be careful -sadly there are players out there who don't have good intentions. I hope that you and your friend were able to start on new islands and still have a fun time with the game! 😄
There are a few ways to find treasure islands. The two that I use most often are: 1. I go on Twitch and in the search bar type in: Animal Crossing Treasure Islands. A few should pop up. I select the channel with the fewest people visiting and there should be Dodo codes attached to each of the islands. Go to your airport and type in the Dodo code using the Nintendo online services and you should be able to get through. This process may take a little time since some islands may be full. 2. On Instagram, I follow some treasure island accounts (@acnhtreasureisland, @glittercrossingshop, @filberts.shop, etc.) To visit these islands you'll need to follow their step-by-step process which you can find on their profile. These islands all cost money to visit - so please be mindful of that. Also, be aware that you can only visit treasure islands if you are paying for the Nintendo online services - otherwise you won't be able to visit. I hope this helps! 🤗
these r my opinions ! treasure islands: ive used them before, and used to use them a lot more. with time, i learned that playing the game how it should would probably be more fun than getting everything handed to you max bell glitch: ive also done this before! while its fun for a little, being able to buy anything you want, it slowly got tiring. it eliminated a big factor of gameplay for me; catching insects, fish, and sea creatures. i actually missed selling things to nooks cranny lmao modding: ive seen some cool islands that are modded, but i would stay away from it. as somebody who doesn't even know how to mod, i would probably mess it up in some way time travel: i use this ALL THE TIME. imo, it's a life saver esp if you don't have a lot of time to play. also, i am very impatient haha dropping items: idk how'd you see this as cheating !! i think its a good way to prepare yourself for a new island. i get how it can be considered as such, but having to get everything back manually can be tiring. scamming: definitely not good. it's just not a nice thing to do, your robbing somebody of their hard-earned items :( rmt: personally, i wouldn't, but i can see why people would. after all, it's your earned money!
I absolutely agree with everything you said because I believe once you have invested your own earned money then it shouldn’t be anybody else’s business what you do with your system and your game that you purchased and payed taxes on!!! the only thing they need to be worried about is getting paid otherwise I think it’s just a bunch of BS Because once you have started with treasure island you get bored quickly and now I want to know how to mod my system so I can create my own treasure island to help others in the animal crossing community Nintendo needs to chill out and leave us alone they got paid go away
I personally think that the best part of this game entirely is Chatting with actual people that also enjoy the game. I also think that it is a great way to make connections and friends.❤
Treasure Islands I don't consider "cheating," at all. There is no win/lose condition in this game, so there's really no cheating. As someone who really is into interior design, architecture and landscaping, I have no issue visiting treasure islands in order to get enough Bells and find specific themed items so I can decorate and design at will. That is the true enjoyment of the game for me. Even once I've attained my vision, it doesn't mean I'll be bored. I'll always find ways to modify and experiment.
Omg this is so true. I get burnt out faster trying to find items that I just end up restarting every time
Slowly collecting items was frustrating, now that I payed for access to treasure Island I can just focus on being creative.
I totally get how you feel! Especially when I have a very specific idea in mind but don't have all the items I need, Treasure Islands can be a huge time saver and help us get back to creating! 🤗

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Some players have been able to "hack" their switches so that the items re-spawn again after you leave. 😄
