It looked like your simulated wind speed was only 8 mph. The one thing I've learned about wind generators is the biggest challenge especially for home built ones is keeping them together in high winds. They have a tendency to self destruct but also to perform well they do need to be mounted up as high as possible to be in the wind without obstruction. IF not you will achieve low performance no matter how well built.
I ordered one and what i will do about it change your mind. The only problem is the rotor with permanent magnets, they are too far away from the stator. I will measure how many of neodymium magnets fits in the rotor and that SHOULD solve a big chinese problem. Magnets are pretty cheap so i do not mind remaking this turbine when it won't want to producing what is stated in the lable from the factory. But i was watching all kinds of VEVOR's wind turbine rewievs and some people really got some power of it at lower speeds but what i do also recomend is the three phase rectifier, not this crap MPPT from china. You should also open this regulator to see what is really inside. When there will be no coil inside, it is 1000% PWM.
Ho Samo, interesting what you said and I would be happy if you kept me informed about the change and the results after the change. Yes, the test regulator is a pwm, in the sales package there is an mppt but as you say, that too is safe. Later I will try the same turbine with the 2 regulators and see if there is a difference.
I just got one that looks like yours. VEVOR. Mine is or suppose to be a 500 watt. At 800 something RPM I got almost 6 amps. This is sad. You have a better drill. Looks like just a few more rpms make a big difference. I have 3 amtek 30 vdc motors that will put out 15 amps at 950 RPM. Had one to melt a 12 gage extension cord one time to the batteries in a storm. Yes, it was a long run for DC. 150 Ft maybe. BUT THAY ARE FUN TO WATCH when there is wind. Truth be told most need very low wind input with better output. That can be done. Better have good breaks on it for when there is high wind.
Right, these small turbines are not suitable for connection with grid inverters, when the inverter starts producing it slows down the rotor a lot and does not make the turbine work. The story changes with larger turbines.
17 mph wind needed for 80 watts. My average wind speed is 6.2 mph meaning these would be putting out less power than my cheap 200 watt Chinese solar panels do on a rainy day. But in a area with decent wind could be a nice add-on.
Just what you say, the yield of photovoltaics is much higher, you have to live in very windy areas to produce anything significant with these types of turbines.
Yes you connect all 3 red wires to the blue wires on the charge controller it comes with then the red & black wires coming out of the charge controller go to the battery. Be sure to have a fuse holder close to the POS terminal on the battery.

I have a istabreeze turbine - it seems to work quite well but I have never seen it put out it's rated power, even in a gale. I also have solar with Vevor inverter, which worked great for about 8 months. It then developed a fault and neither the supplier or manufacturer seem very interested in sorting out a fix. They wouldn't take it back, wouldn't provide me with a circuit diagram or a replacement board. Just bear that in mind when buying.
Ciao BostonBikeBits, poche turbine purtroppo erogano la potenza dichiarata.....non ho avuto esperienze con assistenza Vevor, sono molto efficienti con la comunicazione, per quello che ho provato. Grazie per la tua testimonianza.

I tried this but none current/W go thru the power metter. Where is the trouble? Batteries fully charged? Vevor charger output voltage less then battery and/or solar charger? Vevor charger not automatically recognize th 24V of battery voltage? Help me please!
No he is just giving you wind representation to demonstrate that if it moves ,it charges..the drill has nothing to do with it ,ive got this same model and it works and its saving me cash now!!
Hi Deiphobuzz, your observation is correct .... 80 watts 4A because the power, as it should be, was measured directly at the output of the generator where the voltage was over 18 volts and not after the charge regulator which lowers the voltage and increases the amps for properly manage the battery charge.

Hello Energy Junkie, very difficult to find products that meet the declared performance, consider that for a turbine of this cut type air-x or silentwind (excellent products) it takes around € 1500, many speak well of istabreeze from the i700 model upwards, and have prices much lower.
*All practical tests show that small wind turbines hardly generate any electricity. And only at costs above 1$/kWh!* There is hardly any wind near the ground. And it is also very gusty, which extremely reduces the service life of the systems. *With solar systems, you can reliably generate electricity for about 8-12 cents/kWh over a period of 25 years!*
@@jussikankinen9409 No doubt about it: If you don't have a power connection and need electricity all year round, you can't avoid extremely inefficient small wind turbines in the north and winter. In principle, however, you can generate electricity with PV modules for just a few cent/kWh in 2023!

How much windspeed per rpm? I mean to get like 800rpm how to translate that into wind speed (m/s)?
With this model of turbine, 800 rpm are reached at about 12 m/s of wind.
