If I was given a choice between a shelby, enzo, gaillardo, veyron, etc, for free I would totally choose the shelby. I don't care if it has a handling problem. I like it. Look how meeeeeeeeeaaaan the cobra logo looks. God it's hot.
of course you could and might i add you can also add any upgrade to your F150 (if its the 5.4l) that you can add to this GT500, not to mention that even with just the Tremec your F150 would be alot more fun to drive
What in the hell are you talking about? the platform is brand new, the cars are designed and built by computers. It has one of the best live axle 4-links ever built. All the electronics and ignition systems are pretty much state of the art. Everything is new and current tech on this car.
As for handling, it could use some work. As a daily driver it rides nice and smooth but if you try to corner fast with it you'll be hanging on tight. Aftermarket work would improve the cornering ability, but would hamper it's daily drivability, and I'd rather have it as a practical road car, myself. 5th Gear is right about the diff though as it is a bit lazy at locking up if you ask me. At any rate it's an awesome car and worth the sticker price, but the dealer markup is insane.

Sticker was $47k but dealer markup, gas guzzler tax, and other crap put it up to around $65k and that's just too much for a car (for me, at least). What's new with the Super Snake? I haven't read anything about them (been a while since I took the time to get caught up on the newest car releases). The GT 500 was an absolute blast to drive, but at that cost I agree that they aren't worth the money. One problem I had with it is that heavy iron block engine in the front, the weight balance is off (out-handles my 2001 Bullitt, but that heavy engine sure makes the nose heavy).
That GT500 rocks but I just don't think it's worth the money. Of course, it does turn me on every time I see one;). I need a Super Snake though! 750 unwarranted horsepower and handling like a Ferrari!
@gmorales5000 not at all, Ford GT is one of Jeremy Clarkson's favorite cars ever. He also recommends corvettes over european supercars...and Vicki Henderson from fifth gear adored the boss 302 when she drove it.
i love these dam Gt500's, but wtf is w/ those tail lights? is that like a european version? ( i mean how the middle part of the light is a white stripe) it looks terrible that way!
first off not all cars suck. there are a variety of cars made to suit the publics needs. The bugatti Veyron I agree is the best car in the world... but the problem is that hardly anyone can afford it...... so then it isnt the most simple alternative in life and indeed is not perfect.
worth the money are you kiding in this economy you could pick them up for a litle over 40 grand with less than 1000 miles were what other 500 hp car can you get for that price in that condition you cant get a corvet Z06 or a Dodge Viper and comon its got the shellby names got to be worth some thing right and ya that super snake is sick I saw one at the shelby factory in las vegas along with the 40th aniversary edition and the new KR the supersnake was definaty the best
Because it's a very slow 550hp. It turns time passes of what a stock LS1 does. The name "Shelby" doesn't mean anything outside of the 60's. It's just a Ford Muffstain with a supercharger. Nothing is really different about the car except the motor and body. It's not worth buying what so ever.

ya man just take of the tcs and your all over the place with so much horse power on a basic mustang chassi and body its hard not to drift people bag on the handling all thetime but the truth is thats the way the car was built for drag racing and to be a slipery car for doing donuts and drifting

this car is utterly stupid and complete rubbish... it looks good but it has poor performance. American cars have power but no handling what so ever. One without the other creates nothing. Fact is mate, she don't give 500 at the rear wheels. Top gear dyno'd one, only have 430 at the flywheel. 400 at back wheels. Typical American Exaggeration. I'd rather be an extra £20k in debt and buy an M5. or just buy a Vauxhall VXR8.

Nope; Eleanor was a custom built fastback Mustang from the late '60s. Not a Mach 1.

Just because most cars are right hand drive in your country doesn't mean you can't drive this car there..
Or you could just spend 400 bux on a handheld tuner and turn the governor off...while adding about 40hp in the process.
