soundcloud is far more superior with less ads and the freedom to pick what song you want instead of spotify that will put a playlist of songs even if you wanna hear just one
SoundCloud all the way. It's like UA-cam with lots of underground artist, remixes and niche stuff. Also I LOVE the way how you can see comments from others as the song progressses :)
Soundcloud imo is broken in a GOOD way. You can play some songs offline, without payment. And it could just be me but i stopped getting ads on my computer when I installed soundcloud on my account on my phone, so its glitched so that I get NO ads while listening on computer, (i still get ads on my phone though) . And plus, I normally listen to underground music and most of my fav songs aren't on spotify,Only 1-2 songs are available..the band can't be THAT underground..right?
Agreed. They put much more attention into that on Spotify. It's another interesting thought, we lean towards things that look and feel better despite the mound of other negative things they may hold.
I agree aesthetics are subjective, but for that reason I actually chose SoundCloud first. I'm a sucker for orange, and to this day I love how the song progresses visually through the sound waves on screen. I did try Spotify later but quickly got annoyed at the extreme focus on mainstream music. On SoundCloud I can almost always find what I'm looking for, a lot of video game and movie OST's in addition to a huge selection of remixes (which I generally prefer over originals) and when I am looking for fresh music it's much less curated.
If you're looking to change distributors, you only need to gather the ISRC and UPC codes for reuploading. This applies to all distributors. Look up some tutorials on changing distributors, it's quite easy !! Once reuploads are confirmed, you can delete the releases you have on DistroKid.
@@Qliche Oh yea, you can use both. If you put a new song up via SoundCloud, whatever money THAT song makes will come thru your SoundCloud wallet. Old releases on DistroKid will keep making money over there, etc. If you choose to move over, the payments will move over after a few months.
Nah bro soundcloud isn't it! I was getting 10k streams a week on average when they took my music down for some of the songs having loops. When I proved that I still had %100 rights to my music they put my music back up but never started back paying me for my streams. Then they switched to "Fan Powered Royalties" and still nothing. I get The same 10k streams per week and they tell me that it isn't enough streams to get paid because maybe people aren't listening to the whole song or the streamers aren't premium members?? Get the fuck out of here! I cant wait to take them to court!!! I have over 3 million streams on SoundCloud total and this is how they do me?? It sucks that they were the only platform I started uploading to so I have my largest following there and they wont pay me a penny!
I'm sorry but I disagree with you. I like Spotify a little better. I mean SoundCloud has good quality and all that. But if you want to listen to the original music sometimes they won't let you unless you want to buy the goat plus and make you listen to the remixes which are not as good as the original. And I like Spotify cuz you can make albums which are really fun to do. I've tried both and I've made my decisions. Spotify is greater.
Yeah SoundCloud is way better I'm doing better on there than I was doing on Spotify Spotify is such garbage People followed me and the thousands and then they just randomly on followed me and it all had to do with that playlist bull crap on Spotify My music's never really put into any playlist on Spotify So my music Harley gets to listen to on there unless I actually tell somebody to go listen to it or unless somebody accidentally finds it SoundCloud I only have a hundred followers so far and I freaking got thousands and thousands of listens and views and stuff I've actually started making money for once on my music on SoundCloud everywhere else I tried to monetize my music got nothing One thing I have to disagree with you though on here is that the support is better It is not there is no support on SoundCloud They just ignore you It's a good platform to be making money and to post your music and to get yourself out there but it's not good for support The developers of SoundCloud don't give a hoot about what you have to say They ignore everything I've sent them mad ticket requests and none of them have ever gotten back to me on them
Did I just watch a Soundcloud Ad? And why was it better than the actual SoundCloud ad that's all over my UA-cam?
lmaooo unpaid ad, but I suppose it is 🤣 i think soundcloud needs more respect honestly, they support artists so well imo
@@retroklub_tv nah fr tho, soundcloud is the best platform for underground artists
@@retroklub_tv If you had experience using soundcloud long term, you wouldn't be saying that.
I luv SoundCloud!!! It’s my go to for distribution and promo
soundcloud is far more superior with less ads and the freedom to pick what song you want instead of spotify that will put a playlist of songs even if you wanna hear just one
Poople only use spotify because they think its cooler and more popular

Yea yea lets just skip the fact that soundcloud blocks a LOT of popular songs in many countries.
imo soundcloud is like a bandcamp. It's not for mainstream artists like drake and taylor swift but it is very good platform for lesser known artists
@@quas3728 Thats true,
You can’t even play songs on Spotify what are you on about💀
You're forgot about remixes bro
Yea there are reuploads? And Spotify also has that problem but it DOESN'T have reuploads

this sounds cool. so I don't even listen to top chart artists but my money go to them on spotify because of their system. I prefer soundcloud
MMXVII, I love your channel so much, I just had to subscribe!
Its more about user interface and ease of using the platform . Spotify looks and feels more appealing visually than sound cloud to me

Spotify is a waste of money
My problem is, when is want to repeat the song in SoundCloud infinitely it just switches to another song
well deng, i been on distrokid forever now so ima commit to that. but i might be unsubscribing to spotify today to switch to soundcloud instead lol
Wait, so what if im already using distrokid? Do I need to cancel that and switch to soundcloud artist plan or how does that go?

@@retroklub_tv But lets say I want to keep distrokid and use soundclouds service am I able to do that or is it one or the other ONLY?

Do they still only pay out through PayPal or they added Venmo/ bank account?
im just gonna use both
Spotify: 🤓
SoundCloud: 🗿

SoundCloud is dead and my account banned for no reason
Maybe cause you use copy right music 😂
I think we could all hear the man speaking, so there wasn't any necessary reason for pronoun use. ☠️
