There was once a magnificent and glorious time when giants like Sabertooth, Aurochs, Megaloceros, Dire wolf and Cave bear roamed the Ice age tundras and steppes while early Hominids watched in awe. Prehistoric artist-shaman carves the lines and draws the glyphs in the cave walls, creating a Totem of the Megafauna, inviting the mighty ancestral energies of the Wild to take hold of tribe's life and destiny. The tribe chants and meditates in unison, summoning the Great Feral spirit of Nature.

As many people have commented below, this soundtrack REALLY does figuratively transport you to the Palaeolithic period. Whether it's by self-suggestion, or some deeply ingrained genetic heritage that is subconsciously reawakened within us. I prefer to think that it's the latter. :D

We weren't one and harmonious. Life was brutal, violent and short. Half the world wanted to eat us, and we wanted to eat them. Most strangers we met wanted to kill us. Our relatives died young of disease and starvation. The beauty of this music is that we wanted, needed, a connection with something greater than ourselves. We are the only animals that know that we are going to die; it helps to find a connection to something we perceive as transcendent. We had become aware of the horrors of life in a way animals can't understand. This music hearkens back to our first recorded attempt to do something about it.
We need ANARCH-PRIMITIVISM!!! that's the only way that we'll ever be truly free.
Spoken like someone who goes hunting with an arsenal of firepower and equipment, nice warm clothing, a big stupid pickup truck and a nice warm bed in your safe home. Reality was as Stephen Jay stated; brutal, violent and short-lived. You died from exposure, disease, predation or depredation. Females cooked and gathered, males hunted and fought. Children were not children for long. EVERYONE was cold and miserable 90% of the time. Stop being soy and just appreciate the music.

I can't describe how amazing this music is . Its something like being in another world in another time ....

This music evokes not just a prior, primitive period. I glimpse in my mind a species that is beginning to perceive there is something more to their lives than mere existence, than mere living and killing and dying. Something deep and mysterious that they feel the need to address and acknowledge. They are on the rise, slowly uplifting themselves from the murkiness of prehistory and the bonds of simple, brutal animal existence. There is an emergence of the spark of intellect, self-awareness, awe for the infinity of things they don't understand, and a desire for a relationship with the sublimity of all that is.
This is great music to study to. I'm studying anthropology and population genetics, and thinking about human evolution gets me in the kind of mood this music evokes. Brilliant. Hail the ancestors!

I really hope pepole see this but if you just close youre eyes....think..about being wayyyy back to the stone age in a nice warm cave looking out into the bright forrest and hearing all the animals and a river its just soo relaxing comment if u agree
Hmmmm.... Yes. Warm cave with a crackling fire. Of course, you're only going to live to maybe 25. 30 would be pushing it. That is if disease, some other caveman, or some sabre toothed critter doesn't take you out before that. Or you die of starvation. Or even freeze to death in a harsh winter. And then there's the ancient aliens coming down to abduct you every few weeks to tweak your DNA and do experiments on you, or just hauling you off across the planet to be worked to death mining gold for them.

So i just meditated to this stuff, and it was pretty nice, i managed to get to about 29 minutes.
The first 5 mins would be more awesome if there were a continuous slow sound of footsteps walking in snow! :D or make another track like that!

Love this. I play this in the background of Dawn of Man, it makes it so much more relaxing. If you don't know what that is it is a game on Steam that is basically a city builder of the paleolithic era, you grow your civilization through the ages, if you like this type of stuff I definitely recommend.

Something between old Norse and Dark Ages. "Fall of Rome" "Age of Migration" "The Great Fall" I could see you making ten more videos just on ancient cultures, premodern ages and the dark times of humanity.
It honestly has me imagining walking around in a prehistoric cave, drawing pictures and putting handprints on the wall.
The crazy thing is - those humans had the exact same brain function as we do now.... crazy... They would have been probably more self-aware than us too, without computers and suchlike to distract them from self-reflection and bodily awareness.
