They can convene a session as a Special Meeting or as an Emergency Meeting if one of the Trustees requests it, by petition...in writing, and if a majority of the VOTING members sign the petition in favor of such a meeting. In this case the voting members are the six Trustees. Like, literally.

Then you should know the answers...what is there for the state police to investigate? Excessive payroll and fraudulent overtime is not a police involved shooting...they would investigate that. You don't seem to understand how these offices work or what they do. The feds showed up much earlier than I expected.
Several years ago, the Illinois State Police went in and ran Harvey's Police Department due to rape kits "disappearing."
As someone who grew up in Dolton, I love these Trustees and what they are doing. May God keep them safe. Great reporting!

She got voted out but a judge overturned the ruling based on them not having a resolution vote in place. Therefore keeping her in office. They decided to allow her to continue until her reelection next year instead of trying again to get her out. Look how that is turning out.

The newly elected Trustee Stanley Brown, who has no finance experience or background was appointed as the Trustee's Finance Chair.
Why is he so quiet during the board meetings when the discussions get heated about NOT having any finance reports and receipts?
The 2 Trustees Stanley Brown and Andrew Holmes,who side with the Mayor on all issues, need to be called out and asked questions during these board meetings.
1. Have they seen the finances that the 4 can't, see?
2. Have they seen what the actual Deficit is?
3. Ask Stan and Andrew, do they have access to "My Viewpoint" to see the receipts and the financials or, was "My Viewpoint" access taken away from just the 4 trustees?
4. If they aren't getting the reports or financials, WHY aren't they concerned about not getting finance reports, receipts or maybe...,they are getting the reports?
5. Ask Stan Brown, the finance Chair, does he have any comments, and does he request for any financial reports, receipts?
6. Has anyone explained why My Viewpoint was taken away? Is someone/anyone on the record?
7. Ask Stan and Andrew why they don't attend the Special Board meetings?
8. Ask Trustees Stanley Brown & Andrew Holmes, why so SILENT during the heated exchanges?

A spokesman for the over-the-top mayor said her office is unaware of any pending investigation. They told the New York Post: 'Mayor Tiffany Henyard and the Village of Dolton have not received any subpoenas and have not been contacted by the FBI or any other law enforcement agency.'

Why doesn't the board / trustees call for an extra-ordinary meeting and vote to overturn the veto. There must be some provision to call an urgent meeting outside of the normal "scheduled" dates. Likewise, I would be under the impression that any form of "New" debt (credit card, overdraft, loan etc) taken out on behalf of the city of Doulton, then wouldn't the application need to be supported by an approval by the board or trustees?

I’m beginning to see how this problem got so out of hand.
Usually any one of the voting members, in this case the 6 Trustees, can present in writing a request to the other voting members a "special/emergency, meeting/session". It has to be signed, in favor of, the majority of the voting members. Then publicly posted "X-amount of time" (say, 24 hours) prior to the meeting to allow the public to be present.
I don't know why this hasn't been done in this case.
