My question to you is when I start thinking about collage and my life after collage, I would be interested in moving out to LA at some point in my life to get my acting career in film started. Would you recommend going to collage for acting here in Minnesota where I live and then move out to LA after I am done with collage or go strait to LA for collage? What if you live in New York? Do you still have to move to LA? I've always heard NY and LA is where people should be to act. Since LA is basically the central place for acting, I was just asking.
Hello Wendy! I am 14 and live in Minnesota, and have taken some acting classes and done 4 plays, but I was wondering how to get an agent, or do you need to move to LA to get an agent?
Hi Wendy, do you think it's possible for me to achieve something in acting if my parents don't support me (I'm 14). They aren't against me being an actress but just aren't t big fans of that idea. It has been my dream since I can even remember. Also, I have experience of filming in series about 2 years ago and I went to a theatre school for like 3 years until we moved. Now I bought an online webinar and practice from there.. I am really passionate about acting and I am going to follow your advices, but I just really need your opinion: do you think I should try or is it just pointless? Thank you in advance
I'm moving to L.A soon to follow my dreams and recently, I got invited to go to NYC after an audition, but my family and I have transportation issues and I'm just so upset, but holding on to the fact I going to be moving and your videos really help me and my parents, especially this one. A MILLION THANKS!!!
@Wendy Alane Wright The Hollywood Hi Wendy! I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been watching your videos for a few years. I finally have taken the leap and jumped into acting. It feels unlike anything else I’ve ever been a part of and I believe I have found my career path. These videos helped re-light that excitement in me when I started and I just wanted to say thank you! I look forward to meeting you in the future. 😊
I'm from New Haven, CT. I've had the talk with my wife and child. I want us to move to somewhere near LA. Which part around Cali will it be smart to move to?
@@wendyalane1 The moving out of state is something I'm consider once I build my acting resume a little better ( still a begginer) ☺ but if staying here and auditioning in NY is the equivalent of acting in LA. Then heck I'm going to look into your advice. Thank you very much.
Well, in the future, when I turn 18, I want to move to L.A and pursue an acting-singing career. But for the time being I need to get started so people in the industry will notice me. So, how do I do that? What do I need to do to make myself known?
Bonjour Wendy, et bonjour tout le monde. I live in Paris ^^ I'm french. And I don't really like our "style" in most of movies, tv series etc... it's often so cold, grey, the sound and the light are bad...I don't recognize myself and what I want in our Cinema. American Cinema really makes me dream, you really are the best in that art. But if I have to become the new Marion Cotillard to have a chance to play in America, it's gonna be a long long journey (and I'm 28). Any advices or ideas to get a chance to play for example a french girl in US movies? : ) Thank you for all those videos, it's very motivating. Melodie
You are so informative and for "real". Thank you so much for your videos! Cutting straight to it -the raw truth - with evidence of substantial experience it really brings it home and helps me to make better decisions in where to focus. Thank you.
Hi Wendy! I just finished watching your video. I was wondering if you feel like things have changed since covid in terms of remote casting vs in-person casting? 😊 Thank you so much!

I know your a Hollywood Talent Manager, but just wanted to ask a quick q. I just discovered you on UA-cam, so if someone has asked this already or if you already answered this I do apologize. I want to know, do you have any advice for aspiring Broadway singers/actors? How does being on Broadway as to a Hollywood Star differ etc?
Actors who work on Broadway tend to live and audition for Theater in New York City year round. Broadways actors strongly and intensely develop 3 skills: Acting, Singing and Dancing. Hollywood actors are typically auditioning for TV and Film projects.
The Hollywood Talent Manager Wendy Alane Wright Thank You. I said Broadway, but what I really mean is in general, Off-Broadway and all aspects of theater. I am going to a University near Atlanta, Georgia to study Theater and Performing arts. I want to study all aspects of Theater not just performance..things like stage design, directing, costume design etc. I am going to start reading your book which I know will give me a good insight to auditioning and other things. Do you have any other good reads that I can read upon that focus on theater specifically? Sorry to keep bothering you, thank you so much for the great information you give us!
Hey Wendy, I'm a 21 year old actor from Toronto. I've gotten many student film and independent film credits, but want to get some real solid training for a good 2-3 years. I'm thinking of moving to New York to study at Lee Strasberg. Although it is expensive, I'd like a well established conservatory style training centre. My top option however is the National Theatre School of Canada, in which only 12 people get in yearly. I'm just confused as to what's best for me. SO many options. What are your quick thoughts on that?
TerranovaTV Well there are the biggies of course: Julliard, Yale, London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Carnegie Mellon, and Tisch School of Arts at NYU.
Hi Wendy, I moved to LA from Louisiana about a year and a half ago. Everyone says that theres a lot of film being shot in Louisiana with less competition. Should I move back to Louisiana?
Andrew John They steps are the same in either place. You have to be good at networking, following up with people you meet, doing short films and webseries, getting an agent and auditioning, training, training, training. You decide. If you are doing everything you are supposed to do you will find opportunities in both places. Try both places. You need to read my book HOW TO BE A STAR RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE so you can make sure you are doing the RIGHT things whereever you live. find the book here: www.secretsofahollywoodtalentmanager.com But yes there are a lot of opportunities springing up in Lousiana. You could be a bigger fish in their smaller pond if you go there.
Hi. Im an actor from Lafayette, Louisiana which is 2 hours away from New Orleans. I plan on moving to New Orleans in the next few months because that’s where a lot of the filming takes place. I plan to work on some projects and get my experience up before moving to L.A. Am i making the right choice? I am theatre trained but i am just deciding to seriously pursue acting professionally. I will be taking acting for the Camera classes, audition classes, and cold reading class.
I love your videos, I savor them like a fine wine, iam thinking of goung back into acting and these videos of yours are a great grounding. Paul Bacchus esq

Is it a realistic idea that I want to move from Germany to LA when I turn 18 ? I have alot acting experiences cause I have been acting on musicals and theatres since I was 3. And everyone is telling me that I really should try it in La .
Hi! I'm gonna be filming an audition video for a Disney channel movie and submitting it to actors access. Do you have any advice on how I can really grab their attention while I'm doing my slate, cause that's the first part that they will see. Thank you !
Lots of energy!! and confidence. Be vivacious and clear in your speaking. Make sure the room is well lit, the sound is good and you do your audition in front of a blank wall, not a cluttered room or bathroom.
Oops didnt see this! Im wondering two things! Is it a good idea to generate buzz on youtube in hope that agents will come see, and number two do you have to be a member of a union to act in la
+atomicfile2 Get trained, do great work in great projects and buzz will get generated. Agents find clients in SOOOO MANY WAYS: Attending plays, attending showcases, referrals from clients, friends, acting teachers, casting directors and managers, seeing actors in movies, or at film festivals, attending schools with agents showcases, create theatre companies with other actors and put on plays. do off Broadway plays, direct submissions, and more... read my books SECRETS OF A HOLLYWOOD TALENT MANAGER BOOKS they are so helpful - www.secretsofahollywoodtalentmanager.com and be sure to subscribe to this channel! I want to be an actor and I want to look into being a producer/writer. I love everything about film (acting especially). However, I’m young and I live in the middle of Nebraska with a population of 4,400. Go to acting schools or clubs. Make your own films and put them on UA-cam. Do research. Get spotted. Apply for agencies so then you can apply for your own jobs. And you never know who is watching your stuff. The more you do now the more credits you’ll have! So agents will like you more.

Why dont you update all your videos? Its been a long time since and a lot has changed. There is COVID now and everyone is working from home be it school kids or media personalities. News and Saturday night live is done from home now. So why should audition be any different? Actors should be able to audition over Skype or zoom.

Well this doesn´t seem very trustfull... sorry, just my opinion after watching this and having a look on the website. I mean seriously skype session? And this video seems like it is made with a potato...bad lighting, bad cam, bad sound... not really a sign for someone who is in film industrie... But as i said just my first impression, she might have know how...
If she had to arrange for better lighting and sound, she won't have made such videos at all...no one has that kind of time for a free video...esp not a talent manager. I am personally grateful for someone like Wendy. She has inspired me to put efforts in my acting career.

(And yes I’m asking this 5 years after you posted the vid)

Yep
I am really passionate about acting and I am going to follow your advices, but I just really need your opinion:
do you think I should try or is it just pointless?
Miguel Caban You are so close to New York why aren’t you auditioning in New York?
@@wendyalane1 The moving out of state is something I'm consider once I build my acting resume a little better ( still a begginer) ☺ but if staying here and auditioning in NY is the equivalent of acting in LA. Then heck I'm going to look into your advice. Thank you very much.
Well, in the future, when I turn 18, I want to move to L.A and pursue an acting-singing career. But for the time being I need to get started so people in the industry will notice me. So, how do I do that? What do I need to do to make myself known?
grow your social media, produce content, makes skits, practice acting, search local for casting calls and productions.
solid advice! Produce content" ALWAYS, make product.
Can i move to LA at 16 ?
You should upload videos on this app called scenebot and/or scenebot stage

You need to read my book HOW TO BE A STAR RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE so you can make sure you are doing the RIGHT things whereever you live.
find the book here: www.secretsofahollywoodtalentmanager.com
But yes there are a lot of opportunities springing up in Lousiana. You could be a bigger fish in their smaller pond if you go there.
Thanks Wendy.
Johnny deep moved there i mean hey its an long shot
Hi! Love your advice. What do you think about Atlanta. It seems there are a lot of opportunities there. Thanks!
I love you Wendy!!!! Thank you so much for all your tips!!! ♥️

Is it a realistic idea that I want to move from Germany to LA when I turn 18 ? I have alot acting experiences cause I have been acting on musicals and theatres since I was 3. And everyone is telling me that I really should try it in La .
Yes. That’s what I’m doing but from England
Agents find clients in SOOOO MANY WAYS: Attending plays, attending showcases, referrals from clients, friends, acting teachers, casting directors and managers, seeing actors in movies, or at film festivals, attending schools with agents showcases, create theatre companies with other actors and put on plays. do off Broadway plays, direct submissions, and more... read my books SECRETS OF A HOLLYWOOD TALENT MANAGER

I want to be an actor and I want to look into being a producer/writer. I love everything about film (acting especially). However, I’m young and I live in the middle of Nebraska with a population of 4,400. My parents know and they support it, but they’re not the type who would go out of the way to do all this stuff for me. I’m hoping to go to college in California to experience the life their and I’m hoping to be able to make it. But I’m in a pretty tough spot.
awesome advice, thanks
Can you be my agent? :)

Do u guys know any agency which is looking for South East Asia Actors?
What if you stay during June - august ?
Kayla Gilchrist that was the times I was thinking. Obviously you can still get auditions but it’s not pilot time or episodic season so there won’t be as many x

I live in Chicago and I want to go straight into acting so how can I do it?
+Tyler Hawkins I only acted twice but told I was really good, but I don't have a agent or know how to get into it.
Go to acting schools or clubs. Make your own films and put them on UA-cam. Do research. Get spotted. Apply for agencies so then you can apply for your own jobs. And you never know who is watching your stuff. The more you do now the more credits you’ll have! So agents will like you more.
Are interested in a new client? because I am an actress looking for a manager.
