The glass elevators at the Westin Saint Francis Hotel in San Francisco give off a similar vibe. They were modernized around 2009/2010 and got a speed increase. My last visit to those elevators in 2019 was unsettling. They just feel scary now.
Same, At my 32 story apartment, There is 3 hyundai elevators. They shake so much when going up and down, I'm not sure what is problem, but i heard some weird sounds on the elevator pit when the elevator is moving. Or the problem is that this elevator doesn't use compensation cables for 32 floors so it started shaking like crazy.
Even modded, these still seem fun. ALL fast elevators ran like these when I was a kid in the late 70s/early 80s... except many weren't smooth like these. 😁
@@shadowhcf bruh I sneak in to most of them, everybody knows that (I do it in cities where the cops have bigger things to worry about), this one I actually know somebody in lmao
Don't know what's funnier: the "mind of their own Otis, or your comments about that building! I enjoyed. both. Hallway fixtures looked like old VIP 260????
61 floors? Holy cow! That’s creepy. It’s very rare for a ThyssenKrupp. I like how the indicator is sort of out of sync in the main elevator. I also like the original bell indicators, the voice, the service elevators serving the missing floors, and the two express zones in the main elevator.
Are the accelerating and deccelerating faster than a normal 1200 fpm elevator? Normaly its 8 second to accelerate and deccelerate. Here it is 6 seconds?
I live in The Netherlands. Our fastest elevator was 1600 fpm in a office building. 4 Kone elevators travelled 270 feet. They are now reduced to 1200 fpm. Its now 22 second to the top floor. By 1600 fpm only 20 seconds!
Elevators work via data input. When you enter the down lift tell it want floor you want. If you mess around, as you did, another person could order a lift in a different direction. As you had not pressed any button, the lift answered the other call. Also, electricity can not travel any faster if you repeatedly press the button. Once pressed and illuminated, your request has been activated. Your actions only made you appear foolish.
I did push the button, but it ignored my selection for whatever reason and went down. As for me pushing the button repeatedly, I do it out of nothing more than habit. If I appear foolish to some stranger on the internet, so be it
the elevators travel so fast that the floor passing chime can't even keep up

The speedy indicator makes it look like it travels at 1800 fpm

Jeez! That is some crazy-a** speed for 64 floors for an apartment building built in 1960s with very low ceiling height
6 meter a second otis lifts nice video buddy ;) i love how the floor indicator cant keep up haha
5:44 it was ready for takeoff
I just love it when she says going down.
These are the Pinecone buildings as I like to call them. I had always wondered what it was like in here! Sketchy. Lol.

Dana Danarosana haha
Is this building difficult to get into if you aren’t a resident
Not sure, I was there to see somebody
@@elevatorsoflakecountyTV How are you always seeing someone in x building

Great elevator video but loved the comments too, haha!
TheRealLink haha thanks!!

The more rickety/shaky, the more fun 🔥🔥 😣😣shame they break down so often

Actually 62 because of the lower level
True.
When you get a elevator from the 60s to move at 1,200 feet per minute, it would very likely shake like crazy just like these. Sounds scary to ride.
That's like the elevators in cartoons.
The shape of the passenger elevators cab is the same to the glass elevators at Dizengoff Center shopping mall in downtown Tel Aviv.
I think the reason why it was shaking is because it has a flat spot on one of the wheels

3:13 I feel like I’ve heard that voice before on YT but don’t know where lol. All Ik is that it’s rare asf
Maybe here? ua-cam.com/video/b2XAe4ziWIw/v-deo.html
The perfect example of a Kruppy mod.
I don't think these elevators are maintained very well.
Otis elevators: we never let you down
The elevator is like a train. It accelerates when it goes up or down.
If there’s any elevators I’d like dieselducy to film, it’s these
That's terrifying. 😳
Looks like fun to me!
Canadian buttons for these amazing elevators.

Super fast!! It looks 1800fpm.
Holy Crap, But Even Modded... :/
Why scare?
Just the way it runs and such
ThyssenKrupp should slow down their elevators!
But then they wouldn’t be fun lol
Looking at this again, 1 year later 😅
Imagine a safety break on THIS though... 😮
WTF this elevator said going up but it went down
Filthy elevator. Always check the inspection sticker.
fast but not as fast as the Shanghai tower
I hate the way the voice pronounces "lower"
Jowevator 3219 LOwr level
Those cabs are very odd shaped
When fitting 4 rectangular boxes into a cylindrical shaft it makes sense to „cut corners“
Don't trust Otis, they suck, my condo building has them and our elevator has been out for 2 months.
ALLMOST 100 FLOOR I GOT SCARD
