I have to agree "your never a petrolhead until you had a Alfa" I can't afford a Giulia yet but I've owned a 159 for last 3 years and I have to say it's amazing in any way, beautiful and very reliable as long as you do regular servicing but most of all you can feel the road ,the way it corners at speeds just makes you feel alive. As for a Giulia I'm saving 😁
George Sidis Myself as an avid motorcyclist, I hear this "reasoning" over & over regarding Harley Davidson bikes...Granted, I have not ridden a HD, but I have sat on one idling at a showroom brand-new....the vibration was shocking, as I revved it simulating some 40-60 mph worth, the vibration quickly became numbing & intolerable....knowing all the specs, steering geometry, power to weight ratio, gas-tank capacities, etc. the only benefit would be a better fuel economy. Much of this type of prattle is similar to the praise heaped upon Alfa Romeos..."never mind the statistics, it;s how it makes you feel"...Uh, no, I don't want to passed up by some soccer-mom in her Mercedes with better "statistics"....& poor reliability & cost of serviceability is not a sign of character or uniqueness...it is just that, reliability & serviceability. The only, only benefit of the Alfa is styling...& even that is debatable.
@@AndieBlack13 Statics now days, point that the soccer mom in her mercedes will spend more time in dealer ship and lost lot more out of pocket than any modern era Alfa Romeo owner . @@n0stradam0s I presume you meant statistics (statics - no spell checker?). I have owned 6 Audi's totalling more than 30 years of driving (15-20K per year) and only one of them broke down, once - and that was my fault. I have owned 2 Alfas - 2.5 years in total and they broke down; 3 times for this 1st and twice for the second. Ignoring your ridiculous comment of "static now days", I think it is clear the statistics speak for themselves; Audi, BMW and Mercedes make the best, most reliable cars there is and it is easy to market things that are the best - even if you are a crap salesman. Saying all that I loved my Alfas and as soon as they become affordable again I will own one (I mean a real one!).
I have to say that when I joined to the motorway with the new Alfa Giulia, I forgot the slightly "cheaper" interior parts completely and my senses were concentrated purely to FEELING the car, its behaviour and the acceleration. That was the moment when I fell in love with Alfa Romeo. It makes you feel and most importantly, it makes you feel you're ALIVE. And you could almost feel the presence of the legacy of greats like Tazio Nuvolari, Giuseppe Campari, Antonio Ascari and other Alfa legends...
I have only recently been introduced to the world of the alfa I brought a 159 sportwagon about 2 months ago and every day I drive it it makes me feel special when on the daily commute to work especially when you pull up to the traffic lights surrounded by BMW and audi business barges I look around at them in their dull cars and I am thankful for the day that I set eyes on my 159 and decided to make the purchase that I did
Same here my friend, i have an alfa 159 sedan in black. Sure its not the best to drive and the the interror not at par with some germans, but everytime i park it next to a german rival and look at both of them. I know i made the right choice.
I've owned alfa for 13 years, and although the 159 was a step from 156 (own 156 sw 2.0 jts) the 159 is heavy and imo not as much fun, around the corners, as the 156.
I am a proud owner of an Alfa Romeo Mito. It is my first car and honestly, I enjoy every moment with it. I never intended to buy an Alfa, but this Mito was sold by a local guy and fit into my budget. And than when I first saw the car I was blown - can I own this car? It was super sporty and unique. And than I sit in and I knew immediately that I don’t want anything else. Every piece of it was just in place, and you could clearly see the Italian elegance and style on the interior. People who sit in are amazed that this is a 10 years old car - it looks amazing. Alfas are unique cars and they give you driving experience no other car can give - the steril and ship-like big German cars are chasing me out of the world with their boring design and colour range (you really can’t distinguish between two models). When I was in the Alfa Museum in Milan last year I was blown by their design, their power and their history. After the trip I sit in my Mito like “wow, you are a sport car with a proud history”.
Many seams to forget that Ferrari was involved making this car. Now I´m a BMW fan but I´m a bigger car fan and when someone does something good or great it deserves recognition and then I do not care from where or what brand did it. I would certainly love to have both these Alfas in my garage that is for sure.
Hackbrett Schorsch so go pick one up now. Thanks to all the haters, BMW fans and idiots who have lots to say, but nothing to show about how utterly ‘bad’ all Alfas are, really brilliant ones can be had for parking change. Just make sure you get a V6 for max pleasure😜
I love Alfa's and it's great to see cars being produced by this iconic marque that are still class leading and relevant. I have started my own Alfa channel and hope some of you guys will support me on the journey!
Am an amg fan boy i have to agree with that BUT i'd have that alfa over anything made in germany. You buy alfa's with hearts, which is what set them apart. People won't wont understand. But when you gonna drive down the road one day. People will stare at you, not at a bmw or a merc.
People always look at an Italian car, even if it's a very common one. Fiat 500 still turning heads after all these years - and that's a cheap city car for crying out loud. With Alfas and other Italian machines it's the passion and style that people look at. Being rare or common has nothing to do with it.
@@varmastiko2908 i agree. most if not all beautiful car's design is italian or made by italian designer. For example the first models of VW Golf are made by italian designer
Born in '81 ... and you say there hasn't been a good Alfa in your lifetime ? Are you having a laugh ? Alfasud ti Alfasud sprint Alfetta Gtv 6 Alfa 75 turbo Alfa155 Q4 Alfa 156 GTA Alfa 147 GTA Alfa 8c Alfa 4c Have you driven any of these ? I think I know the answer to that.
I fully agree. I am fortunate enough to own an ‘84 GTV6, which, because it was one of the cars of my dreams, i picked up 8 years ago when they could still be had for decent prices. I would never sell it, partly because of sentiment, partly because i have no history on this particular car, and probably would never get the best price for it, but mostly because i love it, i truly love it. The way this car makes me feel is indescribable. I also own a ‘02 156 V6 in Alfa Rosso color, and love it nearly as much as the GTV6. The 156 in its own way is equally as special as the GTV6, and other Alfas of old. It is just so different from other cars in its class, in a good way. It is super compact, yet can seat 4 comfortably, the V6 version has a marvelous engine, even though it is front wheel drive, it handles very nice. It looks fantastic, and i honestly cannot walk away after parking it without looking back at least once. My 156 is now 16 years old, and still gets compliments everywhere it goes, and still looks modern in a parking lot full of todays weirdly kinked and creased car designs. Both of them are definitely brilliant Alfas, even though they are from different eras..
Alfa SZ...I think even the GTV 916 not being an "ultimate driving machine" was quite a mark. And even in a more "normal" point of view, twin spark and boxer engines were very good.
André Faria i fully agree. The SZ is something very special. I was lucky enough to have a brief encounter with a nice example very recently, which is a rare occasion, specifically on my side of the pond. The 916 cars were also great cars, and also becoming collectable with well kept V6 GTV’s now fetching good money, especially Cup editions.
My 145 cloverleaf drives like a dream after 23 years & no expensive restoration work, not everyone's cup of tea but that's kinda why I love it, I don't want it to be universally revered, I like the whole underdog image, especially when showing much more expensive cars up on back roads😉
There's a bit of exaggeration about Alfa's "disappearance" over the last 25 years. This applies for sure to the Us market, but not at all to Europe, which have seen pretty closely what happened in between. Many models came out, yea all frontwheelers, but some of them where just as beatiful as funny to drive and achieved great success and prizes. Just think of the 155 (DTM champion), the 156 (1997 Car Of The Year), the159 and the Giulietta. Each one of those were sold in hundreds of thousands, in some cases 700,000 (like the 156), that means strong market presence. I didn't mention masterpieces like the Brera and the Spyder, and the GT. The new Giulia marks certainly the brand's "reboot" back to rear wd, but it doesn't mean it's been doing nothing in the meantime, as it may sound.
What about the MiTo. The MiTo was released as part of the 8C. It was designed at the Alfa Romeo Design Centre. And was the first Alfa Romeo to include the DNA system. And the TCT gearbox. Most importantly I’m a proud owner of one.
The 105 shape is so impressive still after all these years... It has a mystical, mesmerizing beauty, you just never get tired looking at this car! It's truly one of a kind, no other car has come close to this cars magic.
I love that in every single video of people comparing the new Giulia with an old GTA or GTV, in the new one they are serious and composing well, but as soon as they cut to the classic ones they have this wide open smile in their faces.
audioh0lic only if Alfa put the Busso in the 105/115 Spider their sales would've gone through the roof if they did that. I'm putting the 3.0l from a 164 in my spider in my mind that is the perfect Alfa.
BMW, Alfa, Porsche, all of them have plenty of story to talk about and incredible racing pedigree, they shouldn't be rated lower or higher than the other, all of them are as awesome as they can be
Venturi Atlantique Beautifully flawed cars while the likes of Mercedes are an engineers car rather than a artists car. Every line on a Mercedes(70s-90s) has a reason and function
Even the *ahem* less great Alfas have had the saving grace of a gorgeous sounding motor, that boxer and twin spark growl and yes, even the 5 cylinder diesel sounds good. You've driven a corner of my dream garage with those two, Im glad they drive as good as they look
People who say they are unreliable are turds. Have owned several and they’ve been just as reliable as anything else. Took a real beating occasionally too.
It's a romantic sense of driving you have to be latin in your mind to understand passion maybe Alfa aren't the best car in the world but touch your heart
Beautiful piece. Really appreciate giving the brand some context with the car from Alfaholics, as I have never seen Alfas until their recent return to North America. Like Henry said, I had no concept of the brand except through other enthusiasts and history books. Perfect.
Congratulations, sir. You are the first car journalist to know HOW TO PROPERLY START A CAR. The others simply crank at the key like maniacs ignoring all the things that need to happen before the engine turns over.
I'm the owner of an Alfa 159 Ti after owning Audi's and BMW's in the past there's something very special about the alfa romeo that the German cars don't have.. the styling is exquisite and my 159 has been ultra reliable i love getting in it each day I can't see myself ever replacing it until maybe a Giulia quadrifoglio 😍
And all of you talking shit about interior quality, i also have hundreds of cars in my hands and I can assure you, there's nothing cheap about the Giulia interior, it's simpler but it's so functional and pretty and sporty none of the others come clost!
Rubén Valente interior doesn't matter when as long as it's comfortable and functions it's a driver's car don't get why people expect sports car to be luxurious with massaging seats. Now even if you google "Porsche 911" it comes up as a luxury car not a sports car.
So many people miss the fact that the simple, functional interior with beautiful lines is exactly what makes the interior so nice to be in. I want everything to be easy to use when I'm driving it, and everything functions exactly as you'd expect.

Thanks for your video, As an italian i thank you. The fuss is this: Alfa is the racing Car. 1st world Champion in early racing time. Enzo Ferrari was an Alfa engeneer and pilota. When you say Ferrari you say the Alfa small son. Alfa mix Lombardia North of Italy industrial tradition ( Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) and greek Roman Southern genious ( Romeo, the Neapolitan Who both it). Alfa since Fascist era was not producing profitt but pure engeneering thats why was not making money and governament both it just to rapresent italian legacy. The 33 stadsle the Giulia the aletta the duetto the 75 etc etc the sz master pieces. Then Fiat bought Alfa and went to front traction ..after alfa 75 is a Fiat with alfa batch. The fuss is that everybody was waiting Fiat to unleash italian crazy designer and engeneers to make an alfa. ALFA is not a practical Car but a concept. Even Giulia quadrifoglio is not an Alfa. I Hope this text will be helpfull
I traded my Porsche Cayman GT 4 for the Alfa. Of course the Porsche is a better track car mainly due to downforce, the long gears however are frustrating ( I raced 7 years GT 3 Cup cars ) and not very Porsche like. The Alfa is definitely more fun on track , great toque keeps pulling , shifts like a race car only critic are the brakes not feed back at all , that do break though without any fading. Sorry BMW owners , my advise , trade it quickly for an Alfa.
nick cramer Any regrets after making the switch to Alfa ? I’m also currently comparing the gt4 and Gulia- Alfa seems better value for money but thought I’d ask someone who’s seen both sides
Now, this is what I go online to see. Absolutely lovely video and even more fodder for me to follow my sublime test drives of the QV with an actual purchase. Cheers.
Nononono, Owning an Alfa is driving a car with emotions, getting in the car knowing it may break down on the side of road, knowing every time you are traveling with her it may end up in an epic yet frustrating adventure.
I have a 74 spider and during the summer, I drive it most days. there is just something you can't describe about the experience. you feel one with the car. the sound of the engine, wow I would never, ever consider listening to music when you are driving when you have the sound of that engine. the longer you have owned it, the more you realize how unique it is. a very wealthy guy offered to buy it and people around me said you could ask anything for it, and he might buy it. He came up to me and asked me about it and I just could not do it. I wanted the car and the experience of driving it more than I wanted the money even if it was twice what it was worth.
Absolutely Glorious! As a kid growing up in the 80's I always lusted after a Alfa Romeo Spyder or a Milano (75), as I read about them in Road&Track, Automobile, Sports Car Illustrated and Car + Driver. Some day I'll own an Alfa. Thank you.
Nice video, that Alfaholics Giulia is gorgeous. I think Alfas are really overlooked cars, I own a 145 Cloverleaf and it's such a brilliant little car. One of the best hot-hatches of the 90's
Imo the fuss about alfas is not so much about how good they are to drive, but about how they make you feel. Pretty much all alfas look sensational, sound glorious and have an interior that looks really nice as well. They make your day, your trip, and you feel a bit more special. Kinda like wearing a really good suit: It looks stunning, you feel like a million bucks in it, but you're not going to win any running competitions in it. This is the thing most motoring journos and jeremyclarksons miss. It's not about "performance!!!". If you do a saloon that costs as much as a normal saloon does, you can't put in ferrari performance. But you can put in ferrari feel and glamour.
T Kaakko thanks, mr. T...have owned a Spider, a GT, a 159 and now a 939 spider, and, yesssss, you know, you’re not driving around in a 60000 euro Merc,Bm or AUDI, but you feel like sitting and driving in a beauty, standing out of the mass front grills of Audi and BMW...

It's just the sheer beauty of the cars in combination with direct steering & lively engines. I drive a matt grey Giulietta QV Launch Edition and just simply love it. And, where ever I come, people start talking to me about how much they love the design and what a beautiful car it is. That's why I love Alfa. Parking your car and when walking away looking over your shoulder, that's something that Alfa does.
Here in the states, I believe Alfa remains an enigma, a strange Italian job that is sometimes exemplified by a random Spider or even more rare GT Junior. I'm not sure if we know what to think of these little exotic anomalies. I am greatly intrigued by the new Guilia, and hope the hype matches the reality. Thanks for a very informative, beautifully filmed video.
Sure they made another great car. The 156 was very nice to look at and plenty fast. And as far as I remember that number was massively successful in Europe and practically saved Alfa. Owned one and loved it... This new one imo kinda looks like a big brother of the 156.
I am proud to say I own the mid-point - the last of the V6 Guigaro-stlyed 156 manuals - its a great blend of sophisticated electronics, real Alfa Busso V6, and wand-like precision manual. Styling echoes that of the Junior, but it is moving towards the Guilia - and despite being FWD, it is a delirious pleasure to drive. Its also a wonder - Alfa is as old as RR, Bentley and Bugatti - and yet it has continued to produce affordable exotica for the enthusiast to this day, despite small production numbers - could you imagine a Rolls-Royce hatchback family car ? Well, thats what Alfa have found their success in making...and given the small production numbers, their ability to function as well as they do function is incredible.
That's not even an original Alfa anymore. How can you say that that's what an Alfa is when none of them left the factory like that? It's just someone's vision of an Alfa. It's like saying a Eagle Speedster proves that old Jaguars are amazing.
I drove alfas in 70s and 80s truly great cars 1300 gt junior ,1600 then 2000, the finest and best handling was the 79 alfetta gtv . Ive found a good one recently and its as good as i remember it to be .ive driven everything ( im a72 year old petrolhead) alfa is a four wheel ducati ,no compromise to performance ,a car that begs you to drive hard, makes you look back as you walk away and somehow gets into your heart . My porsces and souped up shopping baskets never did . Bless alfa and thanks for this new gem ohhhh at last youve made an old man happy i thought you'd gone forever .ps ive still got three old alfas they're hard work but you forgive them when you drive .
This is as good as Grand Tour/Top Gear - not only does it feature two wonderful cars but is also beautifully presented, shot and edited - well done all
Alfa is not about track times , assembly lines , funcitonality or engineering . That car is solely about passion of driving something utterly special . İt invokes a rain of emotions with each design line it carries on itself and like italians , it is a dramatic car and that's why to me it is the most amazing manufacturer in the world . İt represents the passion between men and cars . İt is not a machine . İt is a part of your soul :) .
What a glorious video. Anyone know where it was filmed? That last shot along the lake looks like Lake Como but I can see it's in the UK! DriveTribe what where you thinking making Henry redundant? Just look at this video! Videographers well done, this is a perfectly filmed video.
My recent love for Alfa has grown to the point that I would scream for a 155Q4, and strayed a few seconds from work just to take a picture of the Giulia QV
The Alfaholics creation is truly a thing of beauty and reflects the tuning potential of early Alfa’s but rest assured that a „regular“ Tipo 105 Alfa Romeo (Giulia, Sprint GT, GTV, Spider 1 .. 4) is very engaging and special to drive even with the entry level 1300 twin cam engine (making 83 hp in the mid 60s). The 2000 GTVs made a strong 131 hp from a 2.0 twin cam which was a true revelation (comparable to a entry level sports car in the days). In addition the cars are reliable, had a 5 speed gearbox only rust is an issue and for those who don’t already have one prices went up sharply.
Good to see A Stiff upper lipped Britt, Slooooowly awakening to Alfapassione! This video is more about the men and his passion then on the Italian Stallion.
I'm a proud owner of the quirky one (166 first series) 400.000 km and going strong. Giulia is amazing, but the previous cars where not "lacking", what was lacking, as many Italian things are was the service and the marketing. Fiat tried its best to demolish Alfa Romeo and Lancia, it is a miracle that Alfa Romeo is still around.
"The engine .. well wow .. it sounds absolutely glorious!" Exactly. And this is where Electric Cars are completely missing what driving car's are all about. It's the senses. The feel. The sound. Electric cars are going to be Silent. Anodyne. Mute. Unless someone can create an electric car that SOUNDS wonderful, great cars as we know them - will be gone forever. The different sounds of a gutsy V8. Or a sonorous inline 6. Or a flat boxer. Or a lively four with twin carbs and amazing induction sound. And those great sounding exhaust systems? The Burbles. Pops. Crackles. Rumbles. All. Gone. Will Electric Cars ever get a proper automotive engineer to design one? I hope so. I really hope so. Don't give us cars designed by accountants and gutless cad cam pen pushers. Give us cars designed by people who LOVE cars. And what the best feel like. And sound like. Come on - BE CREATIVE.
An aspect of sports-cars manufacturers over the last twenty years has been the exhaust noise...a fully human conclusion has always been, the louder the better, this goes hand in hand with, the bigger the better. These preconceptions are being adroitly thrown into the dustbin of history. No, with an alternate for vehicle propulsion, we all can be relieved of the immense racket that is the internal combustion engine. Now, like everybody else, I love the sound & fury that is the likes of a 600 Hp 427 Cobra...but with a Cobra power to weight ratio that is its Ace-in-the-hole...a 3900 lb , 550 Hp Mustang will just not be that great. No doubt aviators having flown P-51 Mustangs, probably found the whining of the jet-age to be inferior. Same could be said for those riding horses, being introduced to the early internal combustion engines....endless prattle about "feeling the horse between your legs"...blah blah blah...Welcome to the future.
I have an E46 BMW M3 race car, arguably one of BMW's finest moments, one of many love affairs with BMW, both on track and on the road in the past few decades, I also have a Quadrifoglio, the "Quad" is the one of the best cars I have ever had the pleasure of owning and enjoying, it reminds me of a time when BMW's had a soul, something lacking in all modern BMW's. I love cars, BMW's used to itch that itch, and now my Quad itches that itch alongside an older BMW. If you can drive don't bother with the Quadrifoglio on track, the brakes can't handle it more than a couple of laps, despite being awesome brakes.
Drive a 155 and you will see that that's not true (yes, the one built one the Fiat Tipo platform). My only remark on the latest Alfa's is that their petrol engines, apart from the Ferrari based V6 in the QV, are a bit soulless.
In 1991, Alfa had already developed a successor for the 75. It had rear wheel drive and it had the transaxle+de dion system that made the older Alfas so great to drive. Along came Fiat and scrapped what Alfa had done and forced them to produce a modified Fiat instead. I didn't say the 155 (or especially the 156) were bad to drive - they were simply not Alfa Romeo anymore and they had to sacrifice an awful lot of technology and driveability because of it.
Janne Selinummi O no. I wish I had not known that. The Alfetta line just kept getting better and better from '74 through the late '80s, and it breaks my heart to think that they were about to take it to yet another level, but were prevented. Fiat management has made its fair share of mistakes
I have a gt junior, its fantastic. You dont have to drop 100k at alfaholics to get a great car, just get a nice condition gtv or junior and an lsd and they are fanastic little cars
I'm also born in 1981 and I've driven (and still driving) an amazing Alfa from my generation. It's the 156. It was a true success, a great drivers car and a most beautiful sedan of its time. How the hell could he not mention it?
I don't know why the first thing associated with Italians is 'emotion'. Everything they do, be it cars, fashion food, or anything else, they pour their heart into it. If you have that amount of passion for something, then you know it is bound to be great. Alfa cars are almost like humans. They need care and they break down, but try as you may, they cannot be tamed. They are magnificent beasts waiting for you to give you the experience of a lifetime. PS: If you need smartphones on wheels, then they'll disappoint you badly.

South4153 I invite you for a ride sir:)
R Michael 46 You are kind :), keep sharing the passion for cars!
Unless youve owned an Alfa, you will never understand, never!
Alfa's broke down like any car on road . Mercedes, BMW and Audi are simply the masters of what they doing , its call Marketing . Itailians suck on that area
true, especially the old-boxer-engines...
..damn straight!..I'm on my forth Alfa Romeo now..Mito Multiair Turbo..soo great to drive..I'l stick with Alfas til the end now!🍀
@@n0stradam0s I presume you meant statistics (statics - no spell checker?).
I loved my 159 I now have a 595. You’re right, they make you feel special. It’s an occasion rather than just get in a drive
I've owned alfa for 13 years, and although the 159 was a step from 156 (own 156 sw 2.0 jts) the 159 is heavy and imo not as much fun, around the corners, as the 156.
Just ordered a '22 Giulia Veloce. Can't wait to own my first Alfa!
Update: I'm in love with the drive of my new Alfa. I get the hype now.
Espero que sea rojo!!!
That's awesome, what engine does your Mito have?
I have one too, and it’s my first Car too. I agree with everything you said. It’s just a magic feeling stepping in to one.
"The occasional nice engine" Hmm. understatement for the benefit of the rest of the piece? The Busso is a bit more than just a a 'nice engine'
Many seams to forget that Ferrari was involved making this car. Now I´m a BMW fan but I´m a bigger car fan and when someone does something good or great it deserves recognition and then I do not care from where or what brand did it.
I would certainly love to have both these Alfas in my garage that is for sure.
I like your way of thinking!
Alfa Romeo was involved in the making of Scuderia Ferrari. BMW wasnt ;)
I'd love to have a 105 GTA & an E30 M3 EVO 2
Great, now I hate my life because I don't own an Alfa.
Hackbrett Schorsch don't beat yourself up buddy! Just simply buy one, oh and make sure it's a V6 for full pleasure! 😜♥️😎
Sadly I removed the left part of the canal so it's not safe anymore.
Get one, buy one from an enthusiast
LOL REALLY????? I don't have one, and I'm making out just fine!!
I love Alfa's and it's great to see cars being produced by this iconic marque that are still class leading and relevant. I have started my own Alfa channel and hope some of you guys will support me on the journey!
This video is just beautiful. The sceneries are as gorgeous as they come. Thank you for the hard work.

Alfasud ti
Alfasud sprint
Alfetta Gtv 6
Alfa 75 turbo
Alfa155 Q4
Alfa 156 GTA
Alfa 147 GTA
Alfa 8c
Alfa 4c
Have you driven any of these ?
The 916 cars were also great cars, and also becoming collectable with well kept V6 GTV’s now fetching good money, especially Cup editions.
miclewis55 Absolutely, and you can add the Spider and GTV to that list as well.
The David I agree on all front, except one thing: the Brera was AWFUL to drive. It was like steering a truck.
The David Correct, was about to say the same. An abundance of great models. This idiot was probably just trying to sound dramatic.
Dont forget the 147, which was chosen car of the year in 2001
Journalists are all the same. They just say what the rest of them are supposed to say. It's group think.
That GTA-R is pure porn. I don't think there is any Alfa that embodies the brand more than this work of art
audioh0lic only if Alfa put the Busso in the 105/115 Spider their sales would've gone through the roof if they did that. I'm putting the 3.0l from a 164 in my spider in my mind that is the perfect Alfa.
Jimmy Grant Too much weight in the front. Twinspark on carbs. 🍀🤙🏼
Michel Schuijff not too much weight in the front it's been proven that the car handles better with 40 pounds more in the front.
More like pure CRINGE on four wheels.....
The location, cars, reviewer, video quality and therefore the channel is spot on...
i'm on my 7'th Alfa in 22 years, love them.

This made me emotional.
German fan boys crying in the comment section... Pure frustration. Proof that even they know ALFA IS KING
Soundwave 47 BMW is also about racing and sport.. Alfa and BMW make the best cars
BMW, Alfa, Porsche, all of them have plenty of story to talk about and incredible racing pedigree, they shouldn't be rated lower or higher than the other, all of them are as awesome as they can be
Dot Dot Wise words i like that.
Without Mercedes you would be nothing Alfa. My 86’ 300e could destroy any regular Alfa of the era and not breakdown before the end of the track
Venturi Atlantique Beautifully flawed cars while the likes of Mercedes are an engineers car rather than a artists car. Every line on a Mercedes(70s-90s) has a reason and function
No good Alfa's in your life time? What about the Gtv6? Great styling, and very good performance and handling for the time.
156 GTA, 159 1750tbi and brera S
Agreed, and if it was RWD .......
Brera It’s on my list of the US after the 25 year import rule kicks in
Even the *ahem* less great Alfas have had the saving grace of a gorgeous sounding motor, that boxer and twin spark growl and yes, even the 5 cylinder diesel sounds good. You've driven a corner of my dream garage with those two, Im glad they drive as good as they look
I personally loved the 155 V6 Ti DTM they produced! Beautiful car and sounded incredible on track. Giulia is mad! Lovely
People who say they are unreliable are turds. Have owned several and they’ve been just as reliable as anything else. Took a real beating occasionally too.
My love for old Alfas has grown exponentially over the years. They have a certain soul that is all their own.
My first car was an Alfa 75! Bought a year ago, at 21 years old! It's special to drive, beautiful to see and rich of story!
Alfa is about driving not interiors. If you understand that you understand Alfa..
about driving to the mechanic
It's a romantic sense of driving you have to be latin in your mind to understand passion maybe Alfa aren't the best car in the world but touch your heart
Devi essere "latino" cosa?? Ma quante cazzate, se volevi fare un apprezzamento era meglio non scrivere niente
well I like Alfa's interiors... But I understand it
How can you have a good driving experience without a comfortable interior?
I had a Alfa 75 and Spider. So I done my duty as Petrolhead with Alfa :-D - Maybe later again a classic as Weekendcar but never again as daily driver.
Since my dad had Alfa Giulia 72 I was in love with that brand. With bad or good things I was in love and now at my 50 I still feel the same flame.
I'm not that way inclined and I am British but....your voice + this vid is rather relaxing as the last thing in the day.
Alfa Romeo is above everything else on the roads.
Except when it comes to just about EVERYTHING ever produced by any of the Big Three over on the RIGHT side of the Atlantic.

This GTA R 290 is such a dream. Most beautiful car to my eyes!
Best video I’ve seen since Jeremy Clarkson drove the V12 Vantage on Top Gear, did a very good job of bringing out the emotional side of driving
Sorry BMW owners , my advise , trade it quickly for an Alfa.
nick cramer
Any regrets after making the switch to Alfa ? I’m also currently comparing the gt4 and Gulia- Alfa seems better value for money but thought I’d ask someone who’s seen both sides
nick cramer change the pads and it makes a massive difference with the brake by wire
Alfa before fiat buy it or after 4c period?
Any old Alfa becomes a classic car
Really love the calm music and relaxed way of reviewing.
keep coming back to this video.. one of the best!
Now, this is what I go online to see. Absolutely lovely video and even more fodder for me to follow my sublime test drives of the QV with an actual purchase. Cheers.
I still love the 156. Handles great with proper springs and shocks.
Doesn’t Jeremy Clarkson love Alfas though?
I have only recently been introduced to the world of the alfa I brought a 159 sportwagon about 2 months ago and every day I drive it it makes me feel special when on the daily commute to work especially when you pull up to the traffic lights surrounded by BMW and audi business barges I look around at them in their dull cars and I am thankful for the day that I set eyes on my 159 and decided to make the purchase
Jeremy “you must own an Alfa if you’re a real petrol head” Clarkson? Nice one dude.
Beautiful video, 2 beautiful machines, stunningly beautiful scenery, and a proper driver in Henry. Well done!
Alfa brand has come back, the Giulia is absolutely better than the rivals, maybe not in the interior, but for the engine and the mechanic
I owned a 1976 Alfetta 1800 and it’s the only car that made me cry when I sold it.
This is as good as Grand Tour/Top Gear - not only does it feature two wonderful cars but is also beautifully presented, shot and edited - well done all
Hey, the 4C is a brilliant car although its hard plastic interior!

That engine sounds like a pitch shifted Doberman growling. Sweet af
My recent love for Alfa has grown to the point that I would scream for a 155Q4, and strayed a few seconds from work just to take a picture of the Giulia QV
It's a gorgeous car. Even though I'm a bmw man myself and drive one, this Alfa is just amazing. Also, there's a history part to it.
Those videos are so beautifully made! Great channel
Good to see A Stiff upper lipped Britt, Slooooowly awakening to Alfapassione!

Giulia is amazing, but the previous cars where not "lacking", what was lacking, as many Italian things are was the service and the marketing.
Fiat tried its best to demolish Alfa Romeo and Lancia, it is a miracle that Alfa Romeo is still around.
What engine?

Alfa is wonderful like your soul at the best moment of its life! If you don't try you cannot understand !
I thought Henry switched to Evo. Is he on both channels now, or was this video filmed before he left Drivetribe?
codeman55555 He also is on carfection
He went from evo to DRIVETRIBE, now has left that for Carfection though.
This is a pretty old vid, was originally released on 13. July.
At this point I won't be surprised if he becomes a host on Top Gear.
Enjoyed every minute of this review but then I am an Alfa fan as I owned one for ten years. Every day I still regret selling it.
What about the 75 and 33 they were still awesome cars to drive in the 90s...
That's because they were designed by Alfa with Alfa suspension and Alfa engines. Then along came Fiat and ruined it all.
Put Henry Catchpole in everything!
I'm also born in 1981 and I've driven (and still driving) an amazing Alfa from my generation. It's the 156. It was a true success, a great drivers car and a most beautiful sedan of its time. How the hell could he not mention it?
I'm proud to be an Alfa enthusiast.
