I have been considering switching to Linux from my Windows laptop. I have used both and Ubuntu has given me issues sometimes. Arch AUR is quick and I like the minimalism. It even has a wiki page for my laptop. MSI GS65.
i won't say the main difference is what u call the DIY part. The real main difference is that arch is a rolling release distribution while ubuntu is cyclic. So the real difference is ubuntu is more stable but also way more secured; and that's why you won't see arch in production for serious things like critical servers or so (or a least u won't see mentally stable (yeah great choice of word XD) people do so). Btw i got no xz backdoor :P But else, good video and hurray for open source !
