I first saw Arnold at the Byron Nelson tournament in Dallas, late 1960s. It was a Par 3 hole. He had ridiculously hooked his tee shot to the left, just off the green about 90 feet from the hole. Arnold took out his Acushnet BullsEye putter..... and knocked the ball right into the hole. Pure luck, and Pure Arnold Palmer!
Most of that is from 1989. He was leading first round through hole 15 if I remember correctly. Would love for someone to post that entire round. We wound up shooting 68 with a couple late bogies.
It's because all this footage is in 4:3 old school TV ratio. The modern ratio is the wider 16:9, so they've taken the edges and duplicated them with a blur to make it more immersive than having big black bars down the sides.
I came here to remind myself of my first golfing hero and my namesake after Trump's disgusting comments yesterday. What a great golfer Arnold Palmer was!

Great video and great times in our country

Yes I remember that well hope someone puts that up because he shot two good rounds I wanted him to win that so bad!!
My guy got the stankey leg at 1:00
I love Arnie
I love watching Arnie always, but this is so skewed to his later years. Almost nothing at all from his glory period, 1958-1966.
Why blur the sides? Damn annoying, makes it unwatchable

Great drink tho
For real, I’m having one now
The one tournament he just couldn’t win
I golfed all through school and drank Arnold Palmer's during my matches aiming to copy or beat his record sadly reality catches up to you eventually

Are you a man? You have to be a woman for that kind of pearl clutching. Men talk like that sometimes. Most men wouldn't mind that kind of story.
