If I rented my place out to someone, I would be irate if it ended up on inside edition. This is still kind of a free country for the time being, and what I have and where I have it is none of anyone's business
THIS! It’s part of the rental agreement that the rental won’t go into the owner’s personal (usually but not always) locked or blocked space. Just because I CAN move the armoire, doesn’t mean I MAY move the armoire.
Depending on the state law that would be illegal for an agent to do without owner permission. It’s under the same anti discrimination law as with homes formerly occupied by aids afflicted residents in NYS. Someone dying in a home means nothing, old people die in their homes, and sometimes leave a worse mess than a serial killer. If the property isn’t damaged then disclosing that information could bias someone against renting or owning the property even though it doesn’t affect their ownership of the home.
I'm sure everybody who rents the place already knows about it considering it was made public after the shooting (don't be fooled the the "gee, I wonder what's in this closet" feign at cluelessness). In fact, that's probably the main reason why people rent the home in the first place. Who rents a mansion in the middle of nowhere Kentucky unless there's a gimmick?
It only has to be disclosed if the buyer asks. I presume renter also applies. Some states even sat paranormal activity has to be disclosed, believe it or not. This varies on state. It's usually only if the buyer asks. I believe Florida mandates deaths be disclosed even if the buyer/ renter doesn't ask. Here in Texas, there is no state law that I'm aware of over it. Though local ordinance might require it.

It makes sense. House was on sale. People often live in the house until it’s sold. They just leave when it’s shown. I’m sure a lot of people toured it. It didn’t sell because they were asking too much for the market.
After the tragedy, it’s value went down even less. The father no longer wanted to live there and wait until it sold, so he rents it out.
All lines up.
rule #1: dont tell anyone about your bunker
Huge condolences to the father everyone is so blinded by greed and not remorse OH ID BUY THAT HOUSE, OH MUCH DOES IT COST literally a beautiful girl lost her life by greed from a psycho 😔
Screw the father
If I rented my place out to someone, I would be irate if it ended up on inside edition. This is still kind of a free country for the time being, and what I have and where I have it is none of anyone's business
THIS! It’s part of the rental agreement that the rental won’t go into the owner’s personal (usually but not always) locked or blocked space. Just because I CAN move the armoire, doesn’t mean I MAY move the armoire.
Curious 🧐 How much is the rent? He is brave to let people rent it out. Wow
This happened in my town. I really don't see how ppl didn't know about this. Especially if you live in KY. It happened in the last couple years too.
Absolutely disgusting how this wasn’t disclosed in the rental description. Condolences to the daughter though. Terrifying
Why? You afraid of ghosts? Lol.
Lmao why? It's not like they found the body...
Undergo a mental health evaluation? Mentally stable enough to purchase and own a firearm but crazy enough to get away with shooting someone with it? Nah man, you can't have it both ways.
A state senator and what else? That's an enormous house
Kentucky is very cheap
@@akidim13 doesn't matter where you build a mansion with a secret bunker capable of housing 20 people... It's gonna cost millions
What a great find!
I really feel sorry for the legislator to have to go through that because of some delusional nut case. Hope he gets better.
I'm glad that he went through the suffering he put millions of other people through. Had he done a better job as governor there would be no delusional nut cases walking freely in society.
Nice to see a state representative using tax dollars for a mansion and bunker. 💀
I love the stories that Inside Edition shares but sometimes they sound like they were written by a middle schooler and the editor-in-chief was a golden retriever.
The irony in this story
Of course it’s a secret. Not one of the construction workers knew what they were doing.
C'mon 'Inside Edition', your journalist called the murder of the owners daughter "An unfortunate incident", seriously? The English language is meant to be your forte and that's how you describe the murder of a person?
I'm sure her Dad along with the rest of us is appalled. Do better.
Well, it’s not a fortunate one.
Nope, it's okay.
Don't be a triggered snowflake you Trumper
@@the_empath_etc I don't even live in the US and obviously can't vote there . Even if I could it would never be for the morally bankrupt trump, I have no clue as to how you came to that conclusion. Yikes! Take care mate.
@@elenawilliams32 Ehh this governor was in league with Trump. Couldn't have happened to a better person if you ask me. These people should stop embezzling money so social services can catch the nutjobs before they commit these sort of crimes.
Let’s go in places we don’t belong in.
Why expose it?
For his rental list to increase
that was my question too...
ever hear the saying "a mans innocent but his treasures make him guilty"
perfect here, nobody did anything wrong, but now who knows when that food will he either stolen or tampered with?
it's only a good bunker so long as almost nobody knows it exists... example, colin furze on UA-cam, great channel but...he's made several videos about the bunker under his property, including the multiple ingress\egress points. (entry and exit)
that imo is just stupid.
He already exposed it. He listed it for sale before, mentioning the massive bunker and it's facilities.
His daughter is dead. The bunker was the reason. He doesn't care anymore.
0:53 "My husband wanted to stay down there for our whole visit" 🤣 The prototypical dude.
So sad.
Bizarre
Imagine people spending millions of dollars in having these bunkers and not a single thing happens to the world…
soon.
Rule #1 in owning a bunker: Don't tell anyone you have a bunker.
BRUH, THAT DELUSIONAL SOLDIER NEEDS TO BE LOCKED UP, he said he wants to keep the bunker to himself to ride out the apocalypse, dude what apocalypse?
My deepest condolences for the family of the man who lost his daughter, its really hard to return to that mansion, and I know why, he cannot face himself for his own daughter's death.
His belief in the apocalypse is delusional, but his choice to murder the person already in the bunker to take it for himself was not. He’s definitely going to prison.
@@evilsharkey8954 even if he's judged too insane otherwise he's still going to prison post treatment. murder is murder.
Some people in the USA have such a low quality of life it might as well be the apocalypse.
So sorry for his loss. Beautiful property,
Why does a state legislator have a mansion?
very sorry for their loss .
Congratulations, you just exposed it.
Naur. This mansion already have a real estate listing mentioning the bunker inside. The renter definitely knew about it before renting it.
Strange, a gun nut with a bunker wasn't able to stop a bad guy with a gun.
Good man protects his family
But did he really though after all of that money spent?!
well tried to that is...then gave up,because feelings.
yes he lost his daughter, but he has other family that he cares for, yet he rents this place instead of helping other loved ones.
idk if that deserves praise.
@@bloodlove93 I thought it was weird he started renting it so soon after the incident. Didn’t they say it happened in 2021?
It actually backfired
@@bloodlove93 He is literally traumatized by that place for life. What the hell? He probably struggles every day coping with the reality of losing his closest kin. He raised that girl and saw her grow up just to have her life reaped for such a senseless reason. Have some compassion as a human being.
Stuff like this is why we need better healthcare and better treatment of veterans.
My dream is to have a Bunker one day.. I always didn't like when people mentioned their bunkers and this is one outcome no one saw coming because it was pre Apocalypse. I Feel bad for the father, it was his opposite planning. Careful with the loonly's out there people.
Irony
I doubt you will see this, my deepest condolences for the loss of your daughter. I can't even imagine the heartache you feel every day.
“Unfortunate accident”
Perfect Location For A Film Set!
I remember this ironic story. The bunker meant for protection indirectly may have led to the daughter’s demise. Also a bunker is not fool proof protection in a disaster if for instance there is no longer water flowing through the kitchen pipes or electricity flowing through the wires.
The people who spend their lives to embezzle money often aren't particularly intelligent themselves.
It will be a haunted house in 70 years . The spirit is still resting .
How does a state legislator get that ricj
I noticed a trump hat on that man's head so safe to say he's a conservative, this is what you wanted the right to bear arms without any restrictions just remember it goes both ways. Lol
That’s the whole point of the 2nd amendment. It’s to make sure it’s not one sided and everyone has a gun
@@usernameonutube Is that why Republicans discarded the background checks for mentally ill folks like the guy who murdered his child? You can't have it both ways.
i like how this comment basically says "well he's conservative so he got what he deserved" about the murder of his own daughter, like how sick and deranged can you be? The "right to bear arms" doesn't make murder legal, like wtf? It isn't a consequence of firearm ownership that this guy decided to commit heinous crimes... and if the daughter actually exercised her own 2A rights, she might've even been able to save herself, who knows? not you.
@@thekamotodragon This is exactly why we need background checks for anyone wanting to own a gun which I'm sure he's been an advocate for 🙄... I guess I upseted the snowflake...
@8:05p no it's not poetic justice, dumbest thing I've read in years, you're just feeling gratified that someone you disagreed with is suffering, that's actual psychopathy btw. Think about how twisted you sound, your upset an man was advocating for our, the people's, ability to keep a constitutional right free, and you don't like that because... you want less freedom, i guess? so you celebrate his daughters death, it's unbelievable tbh. Even if this was about an issue i 100% agreed with you on, i would still be on your ass over the fact that you say "play stupid games, win stupid prized" in reference to his daughter getting murdered, something completely out of his control.
Btw, how does advocating for 2A rights in any way lead to your daughter being murdered or it being justified? Again, 2A rights do not give you the right to go out and kill people, there is NO connection there.
I love the editing
I offer my most heartfelt and sincere condolences to the owner of the house, his family and his daughter's coworkers and friends!!!! 🕊🕊🕊🕊
Right... Lol
@@TheDecafec4 I know right?
They should have interviewed the homeowners only. The lady staying there is clueless. “Ugh I think it’s cool”… enough said.
man R.I.P. but like if i get rich ima try to get it
Me two .. haha
That's sad, my condolences to the family! I hope that's on the rental disclosure.
The irony of him flashing his assault weapons to the world just so he can fail amazingly when the time came to use them and not show off. There's a lesson to be learned here.
Because having a gun means you automatically know when someone is going to threaten and assault you. What a dumb ass statement.
@@aqueous5099 He was flashing his mansion AND his bunker. Of course, he was going to attract intruders that is what got his daughter killed in the first place! Do your research before coming at me goofy
@@aqueous5099 No but he is the one blaming media for publicizing his bunker when he's the one who told the media about it.
@@aqueous5099 You invest in a whole bunker but not in a proper security system? Or even let your older children carry their own since you're a known gun advocate? Hot take; showcasing your weapons won't deter criminals from harming your family, it'll just prompt them to take it up as a challenge.
@@deeharper1364 a very minor detail and contention in the whole scheme of things. Have some empathy for a grieving father. We can point to the fact this was senseless with no justification. It’s very human to look for some sort of reason or purpose in tragedy. He absolutely feels guilty and is punishing himself. I know the feeling personally having lost my closest sibling.
Why those weirdos searching through a house they renting🤔
There’s was a horrific murder at the house! My daughter’s dead! Oh well, let’s rent it out to strangers to make some money! 👀
You do realize mansions don’t grow on trees?
What should he do then? Demolish it??
What else would you have him do with it? He's making an income to continue to support his family because that's what a MAN does. Grow up 😒
You do realize that’s what people usually do right? Not sure where you getting at lol
I mean my cousins living in an apartment that was used as a hospice and the previous person who lived there passed in the apartment do you expect them to just let the apartment get abandoned
Thats so sad . the poor father's nice home that he loved at one time .
Lol
Let me tell you something. If I become a millionaire one day and move to America, I'm buying that mansion. It's perfect for a holiday home. (BTW I'm British, in case you were wondering...)
You probably have to be more rich than merely a millionaire to afford it.
I don’t know but americans doesn’t respect privacy if the man only listed his house but didn’t put the bunker on the list but when you discovered a bunker you start filming it?
The man DID list the bunker on the real estate listing. The renter 100% knew this.
Didn’t know a bunker could be so nice goddamn that’s another home 😂
Atmospheric pressure increases at lower altitude and hence underground rooms put an immense negative impact on mind and body.
Wow, that is crazy sad and ironic.. poor dude
And now you’ve made it a million times harder for him to rent it out by airing this story. Great job, Inside Edition.
The story about the bunker & murder was originally aired years ago when it first happened! VERY ironic story I Def remembered
Taxpayer money gone to good use 🙄
This bunker looks very inviting
