Billy Graham was not just a reverend but a strong civil rights advocate. He even preached jointly with MLK in 1957. He was cited by the George Washington Carver Memorial Institute for his contributions to race relations. He was also a philanthropist, giving 10-15 percent of his income to charity. Even though I'm agnostic myself, it's plain to see he's more deserving of being in the Capitol than some of those elected there today.
Well, now as to how deserving. Yes, he is much more deserving than any of the maga or gop. But religious figures being *In* our capital buildings is not appropriate. Honoring him is fine. I do not want the pope or Christ in the capitol as well. The only religion that should be in the capital is that the people have when they walk into the building. I do not mind the symbols being outside. As long as it is every and all that are celebrated in the country. Because I see a Christmas or Hanukkah decoration as just supporting and wishing joy. We should do so for all religions. I have no problem getting wished a happy for any religion. Why would I be offended at someone wishing me joy? I think those who do are silly. Feel sorry for them. It is sad.
