Hot honey makes a great gift! Here's how I made mine!

Hot Honey makes a great gift! To make it follow the recipe below. For a hotter honey, add more chilis and infuse for longer. Or leave the crushed chili in the honey and don't strain it!

5lb honey
3-5 oz crushed red pepper
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
Add all ingredients to a sauce pan and bring to a simmer. Turn the heat down and infuse on low heat for 10 minutes. Taste to be sure it's spicy enough and strain. Fill cute honey bear bottles, add a flame sticker and enjoy!
It took 10 lbs of honey to fill all 18 honey bear bottles with a little left over.

I love it on a lot of things. But my favorite is whipped goat cheese, bacon and hot honey served with crackers. It's the best! But you can also put it on pizza or in your iced tea or on your burgers. It's a very delicious condiment.

What is the apple cider vinegar for?

It's optional, but it cuts the sweetness a little. Adds a bit of tartness. Similar to Mike's Hot Honey.

These were gifts so I didn't make it super hot. But if you like it especially spicy add more chili flakes or infuse for longer. But this was a good amount of heat for me. 😊
