- I got a new PC just before Varlamore and my recording software is randomly cutting footage (both start and end) but my editing program is completely broken as it crashes every 20 seconds (PC came with Windows 11 pre installed which is my current guess to the errors). Lost a lot of good footage but I will try and get it fixed asap. Apologies for now, lost a lot of good footage:(

Did a lil research on your sony vegas issue and I'm wondering if its a codec issue. Maybe try checking your settings in Camtasia to see if its using a codec that doesn't 100% agree with sony vegas.

Right Click Vegas -> Properties -> Advanced -> Run Compatibility Windows 10
Something to that effect. You can run almost any program as if it were in a previous version of Windows. It's a fix for several older games.

hi boto, these might help with vegas
File -> Properties -> Resample Mode -> Disable resample -> check "Start all new projects with these settings" and save
Options -> Preferences -> Video -> GPU acceleration of video processing -> Off
could also be that your clips are corrupt and looking at them (usually the start or end) crashes. If so you can re-encode with ffmpeg or handbrake which should fix it.

I would honestly just suggest getting a new editing program. Sony vegas is so old now, theres lots of better options.
There's just nothing close to Vegas. You want a timeline editor that just functions the same, get suggested Davinci Resolve about 15 times by people who don't understand how dissimilar it is, and then that's about it. There's plenty of GREAT editors out there, but nothing like a good vintage vegas for ease of use.

premiere is much MUCH more user friendly than vegas and can be set up (because of how modular its interface is) veeeeeeery similarly to vegas default if that's what you're used to@@ChrisSPCs

My fix for Vegas on Windows 11 was to run it in compatibility mode and set it to high priority on task manager.
Sounds frustrating as hell, hope you find a fix and know we'll always wait patiently for the content!

As a quick fix you could try to run Vegas in windows 10 compatibility mode (found in the .exe properties). This has worked for me in some instances. Great vid once again! :)

On Kick, the entire point is that they are skirting any and all regulations. They are quite liteally based out of a tiny building on a remote island to avoid as many rules, regulations, and laws as possible. How can you possibly compare the two? Twitch is bad, absolutely, but kick is literally one of the most evil websites run by the most morally bankrupt people out there - and again, this is in comparison to an Amazon sponsored site. It's literally that bad.

If you can't downgrade to Windows 10, you can try using a Virtual Machine running Windows 10 and do your editing from the VM.
Also might be able to just run vegas in compatibility mode
