Hey guys! This video is obsolete. I made a "supercut" of this series, that fixes some mistakes and adds a lot more info, check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/8yWzqbeX04Q/v-deo.html
At least it's not Genshin Impact
Talking Away
I don't know what I'm to say
I'll say it anyways
Today is another day to find you
:(
nah
Raid? I have lost all respect for you
Fun fact: According to some FFVII guide books. Sephiroth’s Supernova actually works because he teleports all party members to an alternate dimension when using the attack. When this happens, he keeps them there until the attack finishes, before teleporting them all back.
I personally always interpreted it as being Sephiroth using a summon in the same way the Player does.
I was a boy. They were two girls. Can I make it any more obvious? I am UA-cam's ALPHA MALE. Acknowledge it, dear mon
Fun fact 2, I was discussing about it with a friend and... did you see those math formulas? They are REAL astronomical formulas used to calculate the trajectory of the meteor, but sometimes with a few mistakes on them :)
@@AxxLAfriku Ugh, why are you back?
@@danielarputharaj9918 fun fact: they aren’t a bot. Just extremely annoying
Fun fact about Pyra and Mythra's final smash: During the initial attack Rex does with the sword, you can see a golden tether of light between Rex and Pyra or Mythra. This representing max affinity which is needed to even use their level 4 blade specials in Xenoblade 2, where affinity is normally represented by a blue tether of light between the driver and blade, and the tether becomes gold when max affinity is reached.
weeb
Jk
Yo, you just pointed that out for me
WAIT, WHAT!?! I never noticed that!! Good eye!
If PJiggles actually liked Xenoblade Chronicles 2, I'm sure that he would have pointed that out. Though, to be fair, it shouldn't matter if one likes or don't like something when they are trying to be as informative as possible.
@@anankos795 Yes, we know. He doesn’t like it as much as we do.
one dumb thing I've always loved about Steve's final smash is the one zombie on the left that gets stuck in the cobwebs. It's a good nod to how a zombie's AI will still walk through blocks that they really shouldn't (such as cobwebs or magma) just to get to you.
also, here's some useless information! The gong sound in Min-min's final smash is actually from ARMS. In ramen bowl, hitting the gong in the background with a stray punch will cause it to ring. The game even has an achievement for doing this twice in one match.
Glad to know it's a gong and not Waluigi's anguished screams like I originally thought 😂
@@shadowbanningcommentssucks3551 Who knew that Waluigi sounded like a gong?
Pyra, Mythra and Kazuya's are not entirely cutscene.
Their attacks can also catch opponents that weren't hit from the first attack.
If an attack requires the first hit to initiate, then it’s a cutscene final smash.
All cutscene final smashes that doesn’t actually put you into a “cutscene” can all affect other opponents during the move
@@undefind3426 Cutscenes are when the rest of the fighters are unable to move around during the Final Smash.
Most of these can't attack more than 4 or 5 players.
@@undefind3426 We can still define different levels of cutscene attacks to be more informational. Plus your definition isn't even what most call a cutscene attack.
The common definition is that a cutscene is when the normal fight pauses, and the attacker and the attacked are brought into a video (in-game or pre-rendered) where no one can control anything (or in the case of for example Bayonetta, pressing buttons increase the damage).
Your definition would include characters like Marth, Ike, Zelda, which most people wouldn't include.
So by all you're definitions, characters like Kirby and Cloud have cut scene Final Smashes?
Kazuya's literally is a cutscenes lmao. It has him do the Lazer blast animation from brimstone and fire, but the blast itself isn't because lazy Nintendo
With Joker’s final smash one thing you forgot to mention was that they changed one of Morgana’s lines. In Persona 5/Royal he’s says “time for some bloodshed”, however in Smash he says “time for some brutality” due to rating issues
“Time for some brutality” is still pretty questionable to be honest, but it’s Persona so I guess there’s only so much you can do to limit the darkness of it
It also makes more sense since the smash version literally doesn't have bloodshed.
Honestly, I prefer the Smash version. Sounds more direct.
3:36 That fact that you can actually see the character standing atop DK Island blew my mind!!!
It always seemed weird to me that K. Rool damages the opponent by blowing up an island, but it makes sense now.
That's why I love this series! It's not a new concept but you still bring new light to it!!!
I always just figured that K. Rool just teleported the opponent onto the island _somewhere_
Shame they couldn't show a zoomed in video during the cutscene so we better can see what's going on.
@@Liggliluff agreed
I never knew they were visible haha such a cool thing to find out.
It becomes slightly more noticeable with size changes, or giant smash.
WHY IS ARMAGEDDON NOT HER WORLDWIDE FINAL SMASH NAME IT LITERALLY COULD NOT BE MORE PERFECT
That's probably the best sounding Final Smash I ever heard lol.
I guess you could say that is an... ARMazing name!
The miss of this perfect pun being worldwide hurts me on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.
Bro. ARMS is dead
it's probably because of some kind of rule that the different video game ratings boards have in the different countries
My favourite detail for incineroar's final smash is that as he hits you, you can hear him count to 3. Counting up on each hit.
One last thing to note about Steve's final smash: The Eating animation used as the house explodes is also only in bedrock edition, as in Java edition Steve doesn't have an eating texture. One other note to this is the fact that Steve blinks, and the piston has a full etension animation instead of the weird extension in Java edition.
Steve atually blinks in bedrock, to answer that question
Steve atually blinks in bedrock, to answer that question
@@mythalieon7829 Yea thanks for clarification! I was trying to imply that
@@owenphillips3999 sorry to say it twice, it lagged
Wait, there is no eating animation on java ?
I'm glad they choosed to put the coolest of both versions in the game for everything.
...and the fact he's og Steve with the beard
Something I find neat is that after he got into Smash, Sqaure Enix actually made Hero’s final smash a Move in some Mobile RPG Gacha game.
I don't remember who originally had this idea, but it would be neat if the door in Sora's final smash showed the logo of whoever you trapped instead of just the Smash logo.
But what if you hit multiple characters from different series? Would it be like the first person who got hit?
@@TinkC43 Maybe whoever has most damage or the computer assumes will be KO'd first? More than likely it'd be by player number though.
@@TinkC43 In that hypothetical of the hypothetical, I'd default to the Smash Logo at that point.
@@TinkC43 then it would probably just have the logos of those series added on
@@TinkC43 I accidentally clicked on your profile and now have 5 new custom stages to download. Woah.
I think the Power Dunk part of Terry's final smash is based on his Climax Special from King of Fighters XIV, "Star Dunk Volcano", considering it uses the same camera angle as the source game.
Smash Dev: Does something
PJiggles: But why... why would you do that?
PJiggles in 2020: "I'm a Huge fan of Minecraft"
PJiggles in 2022: "Where he places down a Pushing Block of sorts"
He’s a fan of _his_ Minecraft
the point of this video series was that he explains it first in general terms before going in-depth for the origins bruh
I think the part of Hero's Final Smash where the other Heroes put their weapons together to power up Hero's sword is based on another move from Dragon Quest, called "Kazapple". It's another signature move of the Heroes, and it requires the entire party to contribute MP to a powerful lightning attack.
I mean, Hero has a lot of inspiration in their moveset
And have inspiration from a finisher in Dragon Quest Victory Road
I'm slightly miffed that it's not Critical Claim...
I think Byleth final smash is kinda based on Nemesis' attack in the opening cutscene from 3H
I don’t think it’s based on that, though it highly resembles it
It's literally a super version of the combat art "Ruptured Heaven"
@@wingedbluj1674 which is basically the same Art Nemesis used to blow away all the soldiers
Its literally just ruptured heaven
Still find it strange they don’t call it Sublime Heaven, which replaces Ruptured Heaven once he fuses with Sothis (which is clearly shown shown in the FS)
I think that Sora's final smash might also be referencing how he was the final dlc character of Ultimate, and is sort of "locking" Smash away (for now) in terms of new content (except for spirits I guess). I mean, there's even a smash logo on the door.
Yeah which would kinda fit with how symbolic the presentation of KH is, like when people realized that Sora's trailer was kinda a reference to the opening lyrics of Lifelight I was like 🤯
Sora locking the door trying to keep any new characters out, he doesn’t want among us or something to get in
@@pigeongod3450 little did Sora knew, but a locked door doesnt affect something that can vent
@@pigeongod3450 or someone with purple hat…
@@eduardofonseca5087 But there are no vents in Smash Ultimate. . . Yet
Someone must have said it already, but the shot in Min Min's Final Smash where all of the ARMS fighters punch the grabbed opponent is very similar to the final shot of the original trailer of the game, where all of the characters revealed at that point punch into the air and all of their fists are dodged by Spring Man.
PJiggles talks about how he doesn't remember Min Min at times, so I'm not surprised that he didn't put in the effort to look into that.
I had the impression that the idea behind Sora's Final Smash was him somehow locking the smash fighters inside of the smash "world", as a sort of attack-oriented translation of Sora sealing the Keyholes in the worlds he visits. Considering that Sora visiting other worlds is the main idea behind Kingdom Hearts, I thought it was a cute idea, even though I'm not certain if that was the intent since Sakurai didn't discuss that Final Smash during the Sora presentation.
Sakurai: "I want you to see the final smash by yourself so I'm not gonna show it here"
Sakurai a few moments later: *showcases the final smash
This was basically my thoughts as well. As much as it's a shame that Ars Arcanum or something with the Final Form or other abilities weren't used, this was probably the flashiest thing that Sora could have gotten as a Final Smash, and still make logical sense. The only other thing coming immediately to mind would have been summoning Xemnas from II to create the lazer dome and blasting the opponents caught inside. But that doesn't make sense for SORA to call upon that. Other best case would be Trinity, but with Riku and Kairi rather than Donald and Goofy, but even I would be dissatisfied by that.
@@forhisneutralspecialhewiel2295 I'm really curious if this was some sort of translation error and he said something on the lines of "I want to show it during a match" or something like that, because it still makes no sense to me.
@@RotaAbyssian to hammer that point even further, I think they could have made it so that whenever the door closes it has the icon of the franchise of the fighter it's targeting, like if he was sending them back to their respective worlds. However, since this was the final character I don't think they had the resources to do something like this this late in the dev cycle.
Steves final smash actually has a pretty interesting origin. Like his taunts it seems to be a reference to a Minecraft community made building that people will frequently build called a trap house. Essentially it is exactly what you see in smash, a house built with a metal door that can't be opened from the inside that is either subtly or blatantly filled with TNT set to explode upon a certain trigger. It is, in essence, a prank that takes an extraordinarily long time to set up for basically nothing other than a fun little story.
I can imagine the monsters inside came as a result of deliberately leaving it pitch dark in there so they would spawn naturally and not have a way to escape.
It's honestly one of my favorites because it's a super fun reference that just kinda reinforces that Minecraft is a game built entirely by the playerbase
didn’t he literally call it Traphouse, (even though the subtitles didn’t say that), in the presentation? I could’ve sworn he did. I wonder why they didn’t stick with that name in the localized releases? Why house of boom? I guess just to have a fancy name or something? I don’t know.
@@BlindMelonLord I think its probably just a snappier title? Localization just had some fun with it.
Not like they had a choice. Sealing the Door to Darkness was literally the only final attack Sora performed SOLO! 2 had him and Riku finish off Ansem together and they probably weren’t allowed to make a Riku model. For 3, he finished off Xehanort with Donald and Goofy for an ultimate trinity limit and in Re:Mind he and Kairi tag teamed on Xehanort, he helped Mickey stop the phantomnorts, and Yozora didn’t have a finishing move in either the lose or win cutscene
His final smash could've been Final Form and he does one of the super flashy combos. Or maybe he could've done the Reaction Command from the Xemnas 1 fight in KH2 where he climbs the Skyscraper and beats the shit out of Xemnas. Or he could even do Solo Trinity from KH2.
@@toxas3063 his Ultimate Form is an alt costume which is an improvement over 2’s Final Form in every way and his 1 outfit is his default which had no special moves tied to it, the skyscraper would have probably killed what little budget they had left, and Solo Trinity is shit.
@@zigslotheon lots of moves in Smash are shit in the actual game. Pound is really bad in Pokemon but it's good in Smash. Joker's default gun in Persona is only good for easy knockdowns with no cost, but the gun skills that demons learn are way better. You make a good point about the Final Form idea though
A better fs would be him using the X-Blade since he use it at the end of kh3
@@mariaaguirre6730 again that would require him having his 3 outfit as his default and even then, the only other alt it would make sense for is the Ultimate Form alt. Also Sora didn’t really do much if anything with the X-blade
What's ashame is that four other "Heroes" from the Hero's final smash were going to be part of the alternate color swaps. But time constraints said otherwise...
Do you know which 4?
@@velvetbutterfly At the very least Madason and DQ1 protagonist since those are alts for the heroes of 3 and 4. Terry is also technically the hero of DQ Monsters and he is an alt for Eight while also being a party member in DQ6.
The odd one out is the alt for Eleven since its based on Angelo from DQ8 and he was just a party member in that game.
@@_rumia Madason is a spellcaster though, isn't even associated with swords, we would be the least likely choice, tied with Allen who is the inverse. Colour pallets aren't exactly evidence either
@@velvetbutterfly Madason is not more of a spellcaster than any of the other heroes tho, he has access to the same spells besides Gigaslash, the reason to him not wielding a sword was most likely because the plot of his game dictated him to not be the legendary Hero and as such they gave him staves along with boomerangs just like all previous protagonists.
@@_rumia point still stands he is quite different from the other heroes and wouldn't really make much sense to be in the same slot
Fun fact: In Joker's direct, Sakurai mentions a detail regarding his final smash, stating that if the final smash missed you can use it again by change its direction to go back and surprise your opponent.
Edit: By the way if you don't believe me, go to Sakurai's joker presentation and see it yourself
More like Last Surprise amirite
You'll never see it *C O M I N G*
“That’s a lot of final smashes”
-George Washington
“Peach has the best Final Smash.” - Thomas Jefferson
byleths final smash should have been the divine pulse , you could have had them repeatedly attack an enemy only to reset there position to strike again, or even strike with the 3 lords on each pulse, giving the implication they went all the way back to the beginning, picked a different path, and brought them here just to kick your ass
Damn this would’ve been so much better, also the lords would be post timeskip and use their ultimate combat arts
The idea I had for their final smash was a batallion gambit with the students and staff replacing the nameless units. It'd be randomised unless the costume referenced Dimitri, Edlegard, Claude or Sothis in which case it'd always be the one they're closest to i.e always the Blue Lions for Dimitri
Not really, ruptured heaven is the perfect choice.
Maybe they could’ve made it look different or "better" if you think it isn’t good looking, but ruptured heaven should be the FS.
@@Zoroark_Master I actually do like Byleths current final smash, I just think it’d be cooler to reference divine pulse or the timeskip in some way
@@justicemcintosh3294 ruptured heaven for byleth is like burning sword/sacred arrow for Pyra&mythra (their signature ultimate move of their home game)
If peoples don’t find it cool. I think the best choice would be changing how it play, but keeping it ruptured heaven at it base.
The doors on Sora's FS have a little similarity from the doors of Subspace emissary,
specifically on the great maze
A neat detail about incineroars final smash is that it replaces darkest lariat, just how the Z move used to work in the slips games. Nice touch
I'm surprised it wasn't brought up that Hero's Final Smash was used in that arcade card game in Japan for Dragon Quest. They made it a lot longer and flashier with all eleven Heroes showing up for it.
Yeah I just commented that! It was so cool they even used the same way IV and VII jumped in to save XI in the trailer
No one ever points out that Nemesis does Ruptured Heaven in the Three Houses opening cutscene. Its the same attack when see in Byleth's Final Smash, but the cutscene shows Nemesis destroying hundreds of people with it.
One more thing about Joker's All Out Attack final smash: Some of, if not all of, Morgana's "Dialogue" in the final smash is actually taken from lines he says when *Morgana himself* triggers the All-Out Attack in P5(R) before the All-Out Attack animation starts (They all do a flip backwards in P5(R) and after that the animation starts)
Example: In Smash, Morgana says "It's too late for apologies" during the All-Out Attack, and in P5(R) he says it before the All-Out Attack
(Edit: I've checked the Smash Wiki for All Out Attack, and it is indeed in the last paragraph of the "Origin" tab)
Fun fact about Terry's FS:
The Power Dunk actually takes from Terry's King of Fighters XIV climax super, Star Dunk Volcano! The camera angle is basically 1-1 for the shot.
Another thing is that he screams "OVERHEAT" when activating it, a reference to Overheat Geyser, another of his super moves that consists of Power Charge into Power Dunk into Power Geyser.
It's funny when you have to tell people this is only half of Terry's signature Super Special moves, not including the Super Rising Tackle he gave to Rock, Power Charge from 2003/XI and his new Buster Launcher that I can't remember the actual name of!
I'm sure you've gotten this a lot but Terry didn't always have Buster Wolf! It was a fairly late addition to his arsenal all things considered. He got it first in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, the game that is the Street Fighter 3 of Fatal Fury. Terry is much older, and it is the last game in the Fatal Fury timeline up to this point. It also is the last Fatal Fury standalone game, save for some smaller spinoffs and things. It has appeared since then in King of Fighters games, and is now an iconic part of his repertoire.
4:19 don’t think I didn’t notice that secret message pjiggles
I have always thought that Pokémon final smashes should become official moves for Pokémon games.
Puff Up: Raises def, sp def and accuracy 2 levels. Halves evasion 1 level
Aura Storm: Fighting type hyper beam that never miss
Secret Ninja Attack: physical dark move. 120 damage. High critical hit chance
Yeah because they are so epic and op abd big and flashy
But no. Definatly no. NO
SNA is basically a dark type close combat with extre critical
the combination attack in hero's final smash _is_ actually based on the games! in quite a few of them, the top-tier zap spell kazapple ( known as "minadein" in japan, with "mina" meaning "everyone" and "dein" being the name of the spell line in japan ) has the user draw from the _entire party's_ mp to smack a monster for _huge_ damage. it's also a typical ultimate move for a hero, with its main competition for the slot being variants on gigaslash like gigagash or gigasword. all of which, as the lightning-themed animations suggest, almost always deal zap-elemental damage
so, yeah. not only does hero's final smash represent the heroes of the entire series, it also combines both ultimate attacks commonly associated with said heroes into something that i'm ... honestly surprised the series hasn't done itself, to my knowledge. especially since the localizers could absolutely come up with a name that's both cheesy as fuck and just as awesome
My money would be on Kazapple Slash, or Gigazapple.
Some notes about Supernova: Pale Horse is indeed able to inflict a bunch of statuses, but Supernova itself is also capable of inflicting confusion, silence, or slow when hit by it, with some those statuses even lining up with the effects it inflicts on you in Smash (confusion being reverse controls and slow being, well, slow). Also, every use of Pale Horse is immediately followed up by Supernova, just to make the effect stacking even crazier. It's also worth noting that the International version of Supernova always deals 15/16 of your character's current HP in damage, which ironically means it never kills you. Perhaps the effect of dealing extra knockback is based on the Japanese version of the attack, which is simply a hit that does damage in the ~2000 range, which can easily kill you if you aren't careful. Definitely just guessing for that effect, though.
Loved the series! Glad I learned a few new things :>
21:26 "He transforms into a very demonic looking demon."
Ah yes, the floor here is made out of floor
This amazing series is at it's close. Did anyone notice that every character that was showcased was fighting the next character in the roster? I love that subtle attention to detail PJiggles! 😄

6:45 Well if you stretch the definition Sephiroth, Pyra/Mythra, and Kazuya all have cutscenes in their Final Smash’s but they also deal damage after the cutscene. Pyra/Mythra have a second where their attacks are in the actual battle field, Kazuya shoots lasers after the cutscene, and for Sephiroth, depending of what side-effect you get like flower, you’re technically taking damage because of the Final Smash. I don’t know I thought this was just interesting

The initial slash of the Sword of the Creator still happens, but once an opponent is hit, Byleth calls upon Sothis and 'awakens' (the hair colour change) before slashing four rifts in the air that resembles the one they cut through reality after awakening in the game.
From the first three emerge Claude, Dimitri and Edelgard, who grab their Relic weapons from Byleth and begin an attack involving their exclusive combat arts from 3H (Wind God, Atrocity and Raging Storm)
The fourth rift opens to reveal the Immaculate One, who finishes the attack with a blast of her breath.
Byleth then activates Divine Pulse and returns to the time before they summoned the others.
Wind God? I thought Failnaught's signature art was Fallen Star.
@Celestia
It is. Wind God is exclusive to the Barbarossa class, which itself is exclusive to Claude.
@@kwagz3314 Atrocity and Raging Storm are Relic-exclusive, otherwise they’d be using Paraselene and Flickering Flower
Potentially cursed combo of characters and unneeded spoilers aside.
Doesn't Divive Pulse undo every action after the point you returned to?
Yeah. The only thing you gain is knowledge.
I would really like to see an updated “worst moves” series, now that all of the main patches are done
Edit: Oh my gosh this is blowing up
As well as the best moves version
@@wingedbluj1674 Yeah, that would be cool too
@@greenfroggy333 Just change zelda and dr mario worst move, zelda was her side tilt and doc was his down tilt
@@ABC-ik9vj yeah but he didn’t cover any of fighters pass 2 because it wasn’t out yet and so I think that it would be cool
@@greenfroggy333 oh yeah!
I find it really nice how all the opponents you you use the final smashes on are the next character in line, it’s a very nice touch! Anyway great work on this series and congratulations on finishing it!
If you think about it, Sora's final smash might just be a reference to him closing the door on Ultimate. Since he is the last DLC character to enter the series, closing the door behind him makes sense.
Bruh the idea of Byleths final smash is amazing imagine seeing a vision of a god right before a flurry of unstoppable dragon god spine bones come towards you with such manic aggression that shit's dope as hell
I'm pretty sure Byleth's final smash is a direct reference to an attack Nemesis does in the first cutscene of the game where he swings his sword and wipes out an entire imperial battalion in a similar fashion
Jigglypuff's final smash has a very niche use: on some Omega form stages, going under the stage and using the final smash covers the whole stage
Controversial opinion: I understand why pyra and mythra were chosen for smash but damn I would’ve love to see Rex more
I think it's worth noting that Terry's final smash is a combination of specifically (If we're to believe his voice lines in smash) Overheat Geyser from Real Bout Fatal Fury, Power Dunk, And LVL. 2 Buster Wolf (Because as far as I remember, He only says "Here's the big one" when using the LVL. 2 version of Buster Wolf).
Bonus little thing I noticed is that despite being essentially the same super, Overheat Geyser and Trinity/Triple Geyser do have different animations in there origin games and in Smash he uses the animation for Trinity/Triple despite having a voice line for his final smash where he says "Overheat".
I think what muddies that on that bonus, is how Terry flips between his standard Kiais and his Garou ones. Burn Knuckle/ Burning, Power Dunk/ Beat Up, Crack Shoot/ Kick Back, etc. Combined with Master-Hero Soccer Guy being a long time SNK weeb, I think that's why this sort of thing happened. Not as glaring an issue as if Ken cried out "Shoryu-Reppa" while doing "Shinryuken", but still kinda Funkey.
@@RotaAbyssian I think it's a even weirder because he's switches between his kiais from Garou and his normal ones but Overheat isn't in Garou like the rest are but from Real Bout and is listed as a separate move than trinity geyser. Super weird.
ARMageddon is so dumb that I love it
I’ve been watching a lot of PJiggles video lately. Definitely one of the most high quality smash channels I know of.
Now spend the next seven years of your life finding the best move for every character ;)
but he already for the worst moves for each character other than a few dlc characters.
Across all games. Including custom specials.
@@abdulshowa7170 it was a joke
I like how when you use Pyra or Mythra’s final smash, you can see whichever girl stand in blade position where they’re giving Rex energy for a second like all fighting is in xc2. I think that’s a nice reference
If killing with Sephiroth's final smash led into a full Super Nova animation in the victory screen, I would hope all the other players would be present as the "Party" getting hit with it, regardless of whether or not they were still alive before the animation started playing.
You can actually build the Town Hall in New Horizons (I know Isabelle got in smash before New Horizons was released but some of Isabelle attacks are inspired by New Horizons and the announcement of the game was immediately after the Isabelle Trailer)
I could see them referencing the new game early in Smash. The Simon and Richter trailer had Luigi use the plunger attack before Luigi’s Mansion 3 was even announced (smash even came before LM3). Joker’s grappling whip was also in Smash before P5 Royal.
Sephiroth's supernova (the international version) actually has a world record for the longest individual attack in any video game
Also here's a deeper analysis of sephiroth's supernova
So it includes the “summoning circle” as I call it, in the background at the start. It then includes the astrophysic equations while Meteor flies straight through pluto and flies into the sun creating an explosion (also at least to from my prospective, the explosion looks almost exactly like a HD version of the original explosion from FFVII) it then disintegrates the earth as you may know, as I'm sure you'll guess there's a lot that is cut. Like seeing Meteor enter the Galaxy, seeing it destroy Jupiter and an asteroid field near saturn and seeing the sun disintegrate mercury and venus
There's more very minor changes but most people probably don't care about the small things.
Have I mentioned that I'm a Sephiroth main
You actually can see it quickly destroy a planet or two as it begins flying before the camera shifts to showing the sun
And if the Remake DOES have Supernova, they'd have to remove Pluto
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Pluto is the planet that is destroyed then
@@liammcnicholas918 they could include Planet9 though perhaps?
@@the_ark_king I salute you Sephiroth main. 👏 I learn something new everyday.
I’m an incinaroar main and was so happy to see him on the thumb nail of this video thank you so much and how you went into so much detail on his final smash you always make my days better
Ah, Steve... his final smash is pvp trolling at its finest 🤣❤
26:23 Lol, in the credits it says that this is your first video of 2021.
I thought we were on 2022.
JK great series of video, I remember how I loved watching Final Smash evolution when Ultimate was out and I love your videos so it’s a great combo !
Since there will be no more characters, what about updating the "how many license there is in SSBU" ? I also really love this video !
Can’t wait to see more content this year, happy new year !
I just noticed that when you display a final smash in-game, the opponent is the next fighter to be talked about. Very nice touch.
"A demonic-looking demon" -PJiggles, 2022
Only the beginning of Kazuya's final smash is a cutsene. the rest takes place in gameplay. same with aegis I think? you can tell because you can win in stamina mode with the final smash before it finishes.
My favorite final smash is Pyra and Mythra's. The beginning of it has Pyra/Mythra in their battle/affinity stance with Rex getting the sword. Then the cutscene is 1 to 1 the same. Then the pose after the cutscene is also identical to when you finish a level 4 special. Every detail is amazing
Considering your pfp...
About the Sephiroth final smash; in FF7, that move cannot actually kill anyone, so ending a game with it would be non-canon (lol)
Another cool thing that happens during Kazuya's final smash is it stops all music while it happens, just like in his home series where Rage Arts stop music as they happen.
I love how he made it when he explains each fighter's final smash, they perform it on the next fighter of the roster list. That is such a cool, small detail.
In Sakurai's presentation, he said the concept of Steve's Final Smash is actually based on griefing in multiplayer servers!
Which I really adore because like taunts, it adds to Steve's moveset being based on common Minecraft players interactions online.
Also for those saying his Final Smash should have been Creative Mode, what's stopping you from thinking the structure was built in Creative Mode by Steve/Alex beforehand? 🤔
Fun fact about Terry’s FS: if you start the attack midair, Terry’s triple geyser animation will be reminiscent of his animation from Real Bout Special (punch down, up, down), as opposed to his Fatal Fury 3 animation (punch down, down, down). If Terry finishes his Buster Wolf on the ground, he’ll pull on his gloves like in Garou MOTW (he does a similar motion with his GO Buster Wolf if you stand still after hitting the attack).
What you should've made comment of for Terry's Final Smash is how he's comboing special moves into each other for the animation, which he can't normally do in Smash. This is because throughout the FF & KOF series, characters are able to cancel almost any of their moves, including specials, into another move, and same goes for most other traditional fighting games out there. Terry's Final Smash is simply a reference to this mechanic from his games.
Thanks for using THE CAT in the thumbnail ^^
The thing about Sora's Final Smash is *no one* can actually agree or confirm if it's a reference to the ending of the first game, just a reference to the first game in general or is completely original to smash.
Because *Disney* one of the co-creators of Kingdom Hearts wanted very little references to their IPs (which was the case as Mickey Mouse himself was only a silhouette in the first game) and it resulted in *many* merchandise related to Kingdom Hearts not having *anything* on the Disney side of the series.
Small tangent aside, I'm happy that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 got proper representation in Ultimate. I'm also happy Pyra and Mythra were chosen instead of giving Rex an identity crisis with him being playable and having a Mii Costume of him in the same match. Probably could've been nice to have Rex instead but I imagine it would've been nightmarish for the devs to make programming that's a mishmash between the Pokémon Trainer's and Ice Climbers' to mimic the gameplay mechanics of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Not only can you not play as the Blades in the base game, but there's only *one* battle where you do play as a Blade and it's from the Expansion Pass DLC's Challenge Battle. The Torna expansion DLC is where playable Blades came from and playing as Mythra again just feels so satisfying without the weird mechanics of Xenoblade 2. (But both the base game and the Torna DLC has its charm.)
At this point, I think it's just a reference to the concept of the keyholes of worlds locking altogether. Nothing else about the setting, which would have been fair game, suggests that it takes place in The End of the World or the Door to Darkness.
I'm sure someone mentioned it but the Petey Pirahna final smash's part where his fire breathing is a reference to his cousin, Dino Pirahna, which is a boss in Super Mario Galaxy. You meet Dino Pirahna in a later stage and he's covered in flames as Flame Dino Pirahna. :)
The pushing block that Steve uses in his final smash is a piston, a redstone component which pushes (and pulls if you add slime on it) blocks.
Originally, the piston was actually a mod but the concept of it was so cool that it was eventually added into the vanilla game. The piston from the mod would also push entities, which in the vanilla game you would need to put a slime block on it to make any entity push.
I think hero's final smash is kind of based on a Japanese exclusive Wii game where previous heroes are summoned to help fight
I didn't actually want this but come on. We all know we'd laugh at least the first time if Sephy's Final Smash was actually 2 whole minutes. Don't lie to me, I know I would.
Sephiroth players being the biggest trolls with using their 2 min long final smash XD.
I love how the TNT in Steve’s final smash also lags
15:48
Yeah sometimes Deutch version are pretty neat !
Remember back then in the Mario Kart DLC for Link's moto :
~`The EPONATOR'~
Petey Piranha also appears in Super Princess Peach
In my opinion, I'm not really a big fan of Ultimate's general abundance of cutscene Final Smashes. Sure most of the Ultimate newcomers got a pretty sick deal out of it and some characters like Dedede's FS greatly improved, but in general they kinda get pretty samey. Sure the cutscene was different but the only real difference between Yoshi's and Wario's FS is that and the damage they deal At least with stuff like form FSs the thing that differentiated them were the moves you got to play with. Wario Man wasn't anything like the Super Dragon or Mega Lucario. I dunno, it's just that the most fun FSs for me are the most unique ones that don't really share much in common with different characters. The 3 Sacred Treasures, Smash 4 Gunship, Petey Piranha, hell at least Puff Up doesn't have a copycat. What I'm saying is that I don't hate "cutscene FSs" just that I prefer when it's out there and unique. I want all of these different characters Super Attacks to feel distinct from one another.
I shall never forgive them for taking away Super Dragon
or Twilight Princess Link for that matter
Yeah same here. It's also annoying because not every character has a cutscene final smash (just most of them) so it's pretty inconsistent. Plus there are some cases (Pyra and Mythra as an example) where they really missed out on a good chance to make a non-cutscene final smash.
RIP Gunship...
Well I think it was all for "competitive" purposes. Smash is a lot faster than 4 or brawl, because people liked the competitiveness of melee.
Slow animations and long final smashes make competitive play, well, not that fun. Which is weird because no one even uses final smashes in competitive play.
But I guess they wanted it to happen and short final smashes are a lot easier to balance, just have them all deal a similar amount of damage and knockback.
Bad place to fantasize about bokoblin blowing a horn as a cutscene final smash?
I know almost nothing about Kingdom Hearts , BUT by the way you described what he usually does closing key holes sealing creatures/people, when you consider he is the final character and the door has the smash logo, it feels almost like he is sealing the character out of the smash brothers universe.
Kinda meta, I liked it.
Props to this series! I binged many of the episodes before watching this and would like to thank you for the informational and fun content.
Great video! Really interesting to see all these origins described in such great detail. It was also really funny too! My favorite joke is when you implied that Square Enix would faithfully recreate the events of the original in FF7 Remake, that got a big laugh out of me!
Isn't the ring in Incineroar's Final Smash a wrestling ring instead of a boxing ring since he is based on a wrestler?
That was an AMAZING series! It was super fun to watch. And it’s the reason i found this channel. I subscribed immediately
26:22 PJiggles is stuck in 2021! Everyone call for backup!
This episode is straight FIRE! (Like Incineroar LOL)

Another fun fact about joker’s final smash (which is also a little bit of an inconsistency but I understand why this depiction was made). In Persona 5, you will only get the splash screen if the all out attack finishes the battle by killing all enemies. Otherwise it will just show the jumping and rapid attack
I really like jokers final smash but I think a missed opportunity would be for joker to knock downs his opponent before the attack instead of just slashing them because it would actually reflect how it was triggered in persona 5
I always thought of Sora’d final smash as closing the door with smash on it so no other characters could get through
With how many comics have him or Mickey beating up the other characters that wanted to get in (usually Waluigi), this makes sense
Great job on this series, it's clear a lot of work went into it. Now I want to countdown my 5 favourite and least favourite Final Smash in the game. This'll just stick to Ultimate since looking back on every single FS would be very long. Just know that Brawl ZSS and R.O.B easily make the least favourite list:
*Favourite*
5. The Blue Falcon: The only reference to Cap's game and a damn good one at that.
4. Blast-o-matic: Amazing payoff to something that was teased decades ago.
3. Omnislash ver.5: Took the already awesome Omnislash and gave it more of a flashiness to it.
2. Shippu Jinraikyaku: This is always hype to see not just cause of it's significance but also cause it's just so damn awesome seeing Ken do these kicks.
1. Masked Dedede Rush: After the snubbing in Smash 4, Dedede finally got the FS he truly deserves and I couldn't have asked for anything better.
*Least Favourite*
5. Mario Finale: I just think *Mario* could've gotten something a bit more interesting.
4. Lightning Chariot: I just loved the 3 Sacred Treasures a lot more so it's removal for Dragoon Jr. is pretty lame.
3. Grand Star: It's not visually interesting or very good in most situations. Overall pretty wasted potential.
2. Byleth (I'm not writing the name): It's just so lame and ugly. There's just nothing interesting about this one.
1. Super Sonic: Why? Why did they ruin it. It's so innefective and lame now. Sonic just doesn't catch a break in this series does he.
No matter the game Sonic just stays losing in quality
Glad to see this project done, I loved all your explanations and (mostly) agree with your sentiments about the final smashes.
Congratulations and great job on your first video of 2021! 👍
Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the series! It was entertaining and educating. Hope you have a good day and a Happy New Year :)
What a great series
A couple of additions:
The Arms characters sprinting forward was a very well established shot during Arms marketing campaign.
The House of Boom, if I remember correctly, was stated by Sakurai to be inspired by how some people trick other players into fake safe spaces filled with tnt and creepers for fun.
