- This teaching serves as a background to the subject of buddha nature, the innately enlightened mind that all sentient beings have, though very few recognize. “The sheer sense of attachment that we have toward ourselves,” which Rinpoche describes colorfully in this clip, is the main impediment that keeps us from realizing our enlightened nature and achieving our full potential to benefit ourselves and others.

Discover a Great Text of the Mahayana with Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche
The Buddha taught that all sentient beings without exception possess enlightened nature. Nowhere is this crucial teaching more clearly and beautifully laid out than in the Mahayana Uttaratantra Shastra, one of the key teachings on the Buddha's third turning of the wheel of dharma. In this weekend program, Rinpoche will give in-depth, accessible teachings on this text, which is considered a bridge between the Mahayana and the Vajrayana-the very source of the Mahamudra tradition, according to Gampopa.
This weekend program will include four formal teaching sessions by Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, periods of meditation, and discussion groups led by senior students.

The mussell farm analogy is very apt. It is our lack of awareness that prevents our release.
