      @@champking20 That's really not a fair statement at all. Plenty of coaches and trainers for world-class athletes have never been world class athletes themselves. Plenty more have never reached the level of the people they coached. The run was ugly, and there is nothing wrong with knowledgeable people talking whether they can perform or not. Performance is not a prerequisite for study and understanding.

      Patrick Irvine just like saying his running style is run. Sport scientists didn’t invent running, who’s to say their information is correct or accurate? Everyone runs differently

    • @PatrickIrvineBlacknesslives

      @@champking20 fair point. But there actually is quite a bit of evidence and proof that the information we have on sprinting form is accurate. Training techniques are still debated. And we might very well find a better way to sprint that's entirely possible. But sprinting is a skill and it's not the same as running. It's the equivalent to something like boxing. Sure we can say everyone can fight, that's fair. But the skill and training of a boxer allows them to do things regularly and consciously that a normal person cant. This kid is naturally gifted, he is fast. But he is also wild. He might very well set records and achieve all his dreams with Unconventional form (usain bolt is a great example) but he will never maximize his potential for speed without cleaning up some things. Whether or not he cares about such things is on him though. But to say his form is ugly isnt an attack on him, it's an acknowledgement of the unconventionality of it. The fact that he won with such a wild setup makes the win even more impressive and shows just how much potential he actually has.

      @@rsnowden0524 I was talking to an Olympic 400/800 runner and apparently the 400 is worse

    • @deeztruckz2430
      @deeztruckz2430 5 років тому +1

      @@connorm4669 The 800 is worse I promise. It's double the distance, but the pace isn't too much different. When David Rudisha ran his 1:40.91 that's an average of 50.46 seconds per lap. That's only about 7 seconds slower for the pace, but since it's double the distance it makes it that much tougher. Anything sub 44 and you're an Olympian for the 400M, and anything below around 1:45 you'll do well in the 800.

    • @connorm4669
      @connorm4669 5 років тому

      @@deeztruckz2430 yea ik I just knew a guy who was in the Olympics and mentioned the 400 was worse but he said it was very close. I'm assuming for different people one is worse. Like for me the 400 is worse than the 800 but that's just because I can't run much further than 400 meters. Also 7 seconds is a lot of time per lap. The 400 is definitely way more of a sprint than the 800

    Although I totally respect the guy with artificial legs and admire him tremendously he should not be able to run with this group. It is a totally different motion and he has a definite advantage over the other runners ..... I guarantee you he would not even be in this race if he had both legs....... His leg turn rate has an advantage along with spring in motion forward ....... Again, he is a great man Im sure but its an advantage .......

      Frederick Weeks Jr. agreed , that’s lots of rep on small distance sprint, lots of long distance like 2k , 3k ...5k + and less actual 800m. Work on static form meaning not running but shadow running with times rep. He got great patience but he needs to understand to get the form right he need to do all those things and it will require tremendous patience and will power and mental strength because at first he won’t see the benefit he might actually run worst time but it’s not about that it’s about his muscular motor the rest is there ( power , cardio etc.. ) in my humble opinion
