IT WORKED! A gen-x here that has always followed the old resume styles. I've had a dream job goal for almost 2 years with an exclusive company that I would need to really focus the attention on my transferable abilities. I "handcrafted" the resume, titling it with (my name) FOR (company name). I added a 'why me, why now, why (company name)' statement as a wrap up at the bottom. I pulled up the job description made sure my keywords matched. I got a confirmation that it was received and processed so I knew that I had gotten through any tracking software. I got the call yesterday for the interview! I'll update you if I get an offer! Thank you Rosie!

Rosie! I got the job! This was at about 55% INCREASE over my last job! The interview questions were easy to answer after watching your 1 hour interview course. I was able to frame everything, not run at the mouth, and just give them enough to where they wanted to engage even more. The two managers loved the resume and said they were going to frame it 😂😂😂😂😂. Thank you so much for helping me land my dream job❤❤❤❤!

Thank you Rossie. This is value-adding as always! How do you write the Hobbies section?

    • @BadassCareers
      @BadassCareers  8 місяців тому +1

You're so welcome! Hobbies can be great to include on your resume - if they’re relevant to the role! So focus on how your hobbies can relate back to the core competencies the job requires 😊

You are so impressive. ❤ I love personality. I hate business appropriate in general. I'll look into your workshops.
Since I know you read these, will you consider making a video on resume gaps. How to explain in an interview and if it should be addressed in the cover letter? Oh, and maybe I should have checked to see if you already have this video made. Sorry in advance if this is the case.
Of course, I can spin up a volunteer/ schooling tale. I would love a little advice on being less than a bad ass and say taking a year off to take care of a sick parent?
When I start interviewing, I plan on saying I waited to job hunt when the situation stabilized, and I knew I could be 100%.
accountable and focused on this new opportunity.
Or I could take the mischievous route and say I took time off because I could. I'm just kidding. Kinda. 😂 I'm not a job jumper, and I'm not into wasting a companys time training me if my requirements changed and would need to leave. I feel like that's valid, but I certainly do not have experience that you do, so I'd love any thoughts.
On a side note, I'm working on the art of being more concise as well. 😂 It is a challenge as you can see. Yet I continue.
I like everything that you have to say about cover letter writing. I haven't watched it in a little bit. I need to revisit them.
That being said, sometimes it's hard to come up with a connective story. Maybe that's because cover letters seem like busy work. They seem redundant and dumb and are a waste of my time and something some man came up with
to make people jump through hoops to see if applicants are able to format documents and put words together on a page. Now I have to suffer looking like a freak if I don't follow the cookie cutter program. I have gotten out of hand, and I am not gonna proofread this or apparently use any sort of proper sentence construction.
What is the point of a cover letter? I see them as a way to introduce myself and certainly grab attention because I refuse to write any sort of cookie or cutter in my letters.
I feel like we're probably at least best friends now. I apologize, but I think you're the greatest. I'm always gonna comment on every post I watch to help your algorithms. However, this is just completely out of hand and slightly mental 😂😂😂 and perfectly me. I hope you find some slight amusement in this epic series of ramblings and have a great day. 🎉
And if anyone else forces themselves to read all this, you truly are a badass. ❤

Hey Jaymee, thanks for your message! I definitely have a resume gap video on my content list for this year, watch this space. You will also find an older one here for now: ua-cam.com/video/6qn8nRoa-fU/v-deo.htmlsi=Xmi8vnNnLmzqdvHo and I totally feel you, being concise is HARD! I struggle with that too. So happy to have you following along 🖤

Ooooh love a career changer profile.
