What Heck said is that all of the Chiefs O Linemen are cross trained to various positions. Kingsley isn't ready for Left Tackle this year, but maybe next year.
If Trey Smith is leaving after this season, then maybe Kingsley can fill in as the R guard. If the Chiefs release RB CEH because he's been taking up a roster spot and salary cap, then please pay Smith to stay.
Agreed. Smith is gone after this year. The Chiefs are stuck with Taylor through at least next season. Kingsley has good size and could probably roll into the guard spot smoothly.
Everyone KNEW that Kingsley was a work in progress and wouldnt be ready year one. All these takes are utterly ridiculous. Remember how bad Fisher was too at first? Some players, ESPECIALLY offensive linemen take a year to get up to speed.
In Dane Brugler's 2024 draft guide an NFL scout said about Kingsley: “I just don’t think he’s ready. Hopefully, he’s not thrown to the wolves right away.” That scout was completely right. I disagree with your take on not drafting tackles high in the draft. After Quarterback, Offensive Tackle is the hardest position in Reid's offense. He wants 5-man protection which leaves the tackles on islands. Losing Schwartz then Fisher in 2020 was the beginning of the end of the explosive offense. You get decent OT play the offense stops sputtering. Veach needs to continuously draft tackles high during the Mahomes era. They could've gotten Brandon Coleman instead of Kingsley in this past draft, and Dawand Jones instead of Wanya in the 2023 draft. There's talent to be found.
So let me get this straight. The plan all along was to take the unproven second round choice and last year's third round Morris and that was the final plan for left tackle? I thought left tackle was a foundational position second only to QB and WR1 on offense.
I feel like they took him out too soon. I wish they would’ve given more chip help to his side until he started to get up to speed. He definitely did a decent job against the Ravens.
Any tackle not taken in the 1st round is usually going to need time to develop. And LT in particular if you have a right handed QB is a premium position. We are now seeing what happens when you go begging at an important position, it shows up on game day. Ugh.
They screwed up his development they should have benched him against the bengals but put him out there the next game against the falcon the next week. He won’t improve if he is not overtime to learn. If there plan was to draft a starting left tackle they should have given the farm to get Joe alt.
So what do you think about putting running back hunt on left tackle and play Pacheco and the same play that way we can run the ball either way let the defense try to control the offense with two running backs in the same way best practices and give it a shot😊😊😊❤
There are big differences. Different leverages, different responsibilities and areas you have to take care of too. Also, you face much better pass rushers. I've played both, guard is much easier to play than tackle.
@ I did listen and I did hear you say that. But you made it seem like a 2nd rounder should be starting or he’s a failure as a rookie. This is not fair nor is it true
The problem is Andy Heck. Look at our offensive line play. Ever wonder how other teams don’t have the same problems our offensive line does? What video of Derrick Thomas and you’ll see Andy Heck. Granted DT was one of the top 5 pass rushers of all time but Andy Heck sucked as a player and worse as a coach.

Wanya would be a better candidate than Kingsley for RG. Kingsley is our LT starting next season most likely still.

@eliezarsawesomechannel4917 yup we guaranteed 60 of Taylor's 80 mil. 20 mil dead if we cut him.

Agreed, 100%
Fisher never was a great tackle. Very Good to good at best. His weakness was always speed rushers. That’s what our tackles continue to as well.
You thought Fisher was a great tackle? Holy hell
Chiefs going to a 6 man line formation. Kingsley will be on the strong side but inside of the tackle.

Dane is very good at what he does

They cross train all the lineman. He needs to be tutored by a vet like Humphries. You have to grow tackles yourself. They are too expensive to buy.

I've been wondering how he would do at R tackle?

If, as you state, a player is "unplayable", then what is the debate ????
If he doesn't work out on the offensive line, what about switching him to D-line?
So what do you think about putting running back hunt on left tackle and play Pacheco and the same play that way we can run the ball either way let the defense try to control the offense with two running backs in the same way best practices and give it a shot😊😊😊❤
i get tackle has more responsibility but guard center tackle they are blocking. I dont get what the difference is

The biggest difference is that the Left Tackle covers Mahomes blind side.
We don't need videos dissing our rookies. Maybe he'd make a great guard? Ever think of that?
Did you listen to the video at all? I didn't diss him and said that him learning a different position and contributing there isn't the worst outcome.
@ I did listen and I did hear you say that. But you made it seem like a 2nd rounder should be starting or he’s a failure as a rookie. This is not fair nor is it true
Giving him the great John Alts # wasnt the best ideal, hey rookie, were gonna give you a chiefs legends number to stand up to.
