You have a good line up of games there. I’ve had fun experiences with “ Just One”. It is one of those games best at 5 to 7 players. You have “Sonar” which is for 2-4 players. “Captain Sonar” is the big brother making use of more players. The backdrop and foreground for this video is very well done. Good job. 👍
Thank You I honestly missed that is was not captain lol. Thank You on the appearance/ set. I am really working on it and all the exposure and color grading
A bunch of those games I would love to play. Looking forward to seeing your reviews of these games next year 😉.
I only have one game on my shelf that I have yet to play: Dungeons of Infinity. I kickstarted it years ago and by the time it finally arrived I had lost interest in playing Campaign style games. I made a really nice and functional foam core insert for it, but it now sits, unplayed, on my shelf since May 2021.
Technically I do have a few expansions yet to be played as well. I own all the Elder Sign Omens, but have not delved into them all yet.
There's always 2023 to get everything played
2023 for the win! Thanks for commenting and wanting them reviewed! I have not heard of that one but I really restrict myself on dungeon crawls since I could not or did not finish Gloomhaven. Yet I just backed Oathsworn 😂
I love this! That’s not too many unplayed games. You have plenty of fun times to look forward to playing them!
Thanks Ryan!!! Outer Rim was pretty decent one down!
i'm constantly evaluating my bgg collection to make sure my S.o.S doesn't get too out of hand.... but this time of year and all the sales definitely makes it more of a challenge!
Truth 😁 thanks for watching and commenting!!
Come on, Jaws is easy to bring to the table and fun. Get a couple friends together, have the Jaws soundtrack playing in the background, and give it a try. It is simple to teach and has always ended close for me.
One day lol 😂
My current shelf of shame:
1. Three Sisters
2. The Magnificent
3. Warp’s Edge
4. Verdant
5. Spirit Island (haven’t played yet, only learned the rules)
The Star Wars Outer Rim expansion Unfinished Business makes it a much better game. I enjoyed the core game but the expansion is excellent. Definitely a must-buy if you have Outer Rim.
I am going to have to acquire it then I liked my solo game I just played!
I'm currently sitting on 35 games in my shelf of opportunity. I have slowed my expansion and shrunk my shelf over the years at one point it was more than 50.
Just look at all the fun you will have either way it’s a great hobby !
@@BadatBoardgames totally agree
I'm happy to say that of the 150 or so games I own, I've only got 2 on my Shelf of Shame. Chronology is one, the other is Superfight. Both were gifted to me, and I have so far had little interest in checking them out.
We have super fight it’s fun with kids. Nice job only having 2!!!
@@BadatBoardgames I'm lucky to have picked a bunch of good games :)
I like the term "shelf of opportunity" better, but if a game goes unplayed for more than a year it is indeed shameful.
My current shelf of unplayed games consist of:
Chronicles of Crime
Mysterium
Spirit Island
This War of Mine
Megacity Oceania
Lost Ones
Bitoku
All Bridges Burning
Underwater Cities
Elder Sign
Birdwatcher
Betrayal at House on the Hill
7 Wonders
Shadows of Brimstone: City of Ancients
D & D Adventure Begins
The Crew
Bang: The Dice Game
Catan (believe it or not)
I actually look forward to playing many of these games. Hope you do too! Cheers!
Yes opportunity is better agreed! Some good games in that like ! I am sure you are going to enjoy them as well!! Thank You for sharing and commenting 😃
I’ll trade you ark nova for bitoku
@@bestatstartrek2179 Really? That's an enticing offer. Bitoku is a beautiful game. I thought about putting the boards on my wall. The two times I set it up I got anxiety from it. 😆
@@freeheeler00 dead serious for a trade
@@bestatstartrek2179 Ok, I am intrigued. I should let you know that there is some damage on one of the corners/sides of the boxes. The dang thing is so heavy I dropped as I was removing it from my FLGS bag. It's not the worst damage I've seen to a box but I know how folks can be about it. The game itself is mint.
2nd comment because I’m commenting as I watch. Boonlake was a fun experience. Lots of integrated card play. Check it out. Carnegie is also great. Played it a lot on bga.
I definitely want to get both played ! I like that you comment as you watch 😃
@@BadatBoardgames I can’t help it. Also played about 25 games of beyond the sun on bga. I’d go for boonlake before Carnegie. both good games. Boonlake I think is easier and your always taking an action on the other persons turn. Very engaging
@@bestatstartrek2179 I like games where you are always doing something on another players turn!
Jaws is so much fun! It's my favorite hidden movement game. Yes, I like it better than Mind MGMT. It's just a good time.
I really enjoy Lorenzo, Boon Lake, and Carnegie. I hope you table them soon!
My SoS is at around 15 which prematurely includes some future Christmas presents.
I can’t wait to play them! Better than Mind! Wow thank you for commenting and watching 😁
Toph here. Unfortunately, Jaws fell flat for me. But, I can say the same for Mind MGMT. Maybe hidden movement isn't my thing? Although I did enjoy Letters from Whitechapel and Clue: The Museum Caper, etc. Can't wait to jump into Lorenzo, Boon Lake, and Carnegie. Looks like I'm going to be helping Brad clear his SoS.
@@BadatBoardgames Hi Toph! Apparently we need to get you in the hot seat and see your shelf of shame! I'd love to see that.
I don't think I'm much a fan of hidden movement either. I don't want to think that hard just to figure where someone is at. I think that's why Jaws was a hit. It was like going to the fair and playing that game where they shuffle up three cups and you have to guess which one has the ball under it. It wasn't like Mind MGMT where I have to be Russell Crow in A Beautiful Mind and start working complex math theories on the wall. 🤣 I just have a great time playing Jaws. I do like crunchy games. I like thinking and coming up with a strategy. I just feel like Mind MGMT was too unforgiving -like if you made one bad assumption there's no recovering. Plus, we play everything at 2. So it was really lopsided in game play. I felt like one side sat there forever thinking through everything and one side took their turns very quickly. We traded Mind MGMT and got Trajan in return - which works much better for our little husband and wife board game group.
I think you'll like all 3 of those games. You're a good friend to help Brad.
Not sure we have enough time to look at my shelf of shame. HA! But, we'll see what I can do. I have a bunch of old games I picked up used that I've yet to play. Too many shiny new games that make their way to the table faster. I'll try to organize my SOS and confess what I have.
@@elizabethdoney6025 The nice thing about the hidden movement in Jaws is that is only half the game. Even if the humans blow the hidden movement portion it always ends up on the boat in Act 2. If anything I have normally seen the shark get max credit for the first half which ups the ante in the second half. I was especially proud of having eaten Chief Brody's kid in one of my playthoughs (card for it came up adding extra swimmers in an area and I got them all). That game the shark didn't actually get max swimmers eaten because I trapped myself getting the kid but I considered it a thematic victory and it made it all the cooler when Brody got the kill on the shark in Act 2.
159 games on the shelves unplayed in a 450 game collection. I think it's about time to stop buying and start playing.
Hehe, well if you enjoy collecting that’s something as well!
I’ve had spirit island and haven’t played it. Read the rules too. Something about it seems unappealing for some reason. Hopefully it’ll happen but I keep going after ark nova and dominion. Might be a mood thing.
I can understand that. I did not like my first play of it but liked my second. The theme and appearance are also just meh in my opinion.
My SoS is getting out of hand. I'm at 2! 😔
Lol mmmhmmm crazy out of hand 😃 you are on top of it!
Dude you got the 2 player sonar. You have to play that. It’s super simple to learn and play. Omg. Come on man. What’s wrong with you. I’m going to be upset if you don’t try that soon. Dude it’s not the same as captain sonar
I just was told that in another comment lol totally missed that 😂😂
My current shelf of shame:
1. Three Sisters
2. The Magnificent
3. Warp’s Edge
4. Verdant
5. Spirit Island (haven’t played yet, only learned the rules)
Toph loves warp’s edge and we both like spirit island but it is a tough game.
@@BadatBoardgames yeh warps edge went on sale for like $13, so was a no brainer. Spirit Island has just been a real tough one to learn, despite reading rules and watching it played, and going through the digital tutorial. I got it to co-op with my wife, but think it’s going to likely end up in the solo only pile.
@@oneysnyder2116 ya Toph plays it mostly solo. Not sure my wife would like it either 🧐
