- What’s up, guys!
Today, I took my BMW X3 off roading to see how it does and to answer the general question of “Are crossovers good off road?”
Watch the video and see how it goes!
Disclaimer: The BMW that I am using is a daily driver so I am trying not to break anything and the actuator gear has gone bad so no AWD:(
I hope you all enjoy the content, as I do enjoy making it!

Just love the sound of that exhaust at start up. Despite the e53 x5 having same m54 the x3 sounds way better.
Take my 14 x3 “rallying” a lot and it handles great! The stock shocks don’t like it but I’m upgrading soon!
Thanks 🙏🏾 Just bought one. 2007. Was curious. This helped.
Are diesel?
nice
some people make it look like this is impossible in a X3.
Never selling my 04 x3 e83. Whose with me?
Still got it?😂

I have an 05 2.0D with a tune.. great daily and also fun to unplug the transfercase wire for full rwd ice/snow skids 😎
Love my X3! Feels like driving a sports car! Sadly, she suffered several issues with the cooling system and may need a head gasket:/ (got her like that) but hopefully I will have more time this summer to fix it! Also have other project cars to do🥲
+ bro! I love this car! 2.0d)
Is this xDrive? It looked like a standard rear wheel drive. I didn't see any engagement of the 4x4 anywhere when it got stuck on rough terrain
It is but in the transfer case there is an actuator gear and they usually get worn out, especially with higher mileage. So I noticed it does work, but it will slip and not drive the four wheels under alot of stress. I have seen videos and they’re not hard to replace so hopefully this summer!
@@sammyquick793 Have an e53 with the same actuator, mine was worn and it gets worse gas mileage, slower and awd is no where near as effective in the snow or when I went camping. But this was 2 years ago, super easy to fix and inexpensive. Also I recommend turning dsc off for fixed power delivery to the wheels, transfer case behaves differently, it’s pretty much a true 4x4 system when it’s off.
@@aidenp5768 I did watch a couple videos about changing it actually! All I really need is a good and free weekend to do it ofc😂
does your AWD works?
Doesnt it have xdrive ?
My x3 will do that rocky session easily i think
I thought it did at the time, but I later found out that my actuator gear was worn
Might want to check your transfer case after
Это не off road. Это обычная российская дорога в сад).
Was this filmed in NEPA?
Yessir
@@sammyquick793 I knew it! snake road or west mountain area?
This video was filmed in Schuylkill County
its xDrive or sDrive?
xDrive
I think sdrive 🤔
@@razvannegrila3946 It has a worn transfer case actuator gear so it doesn't drive the front wheels as well as it should.
Да у нас асфальт такой
Пенсильвания - это джунгли с выбоинами
Į do this with my e61
Какой это офф-роуд?😂😂 Вот когда не можешь открыть дверь из за высокого слоя грязи или снега, вот это офф-роуд! А здесь и любая семерка проедет
What's the point of making a video like this a worn AWD actuator, it doesn't show its full capabilities.
Back when we filmed this we didn’t know it was worn until after the video was posted. Also, we didn’t do the Jeep trails because it was a daily.
It`s call offroad??🤣
