- They are the two most interesting characters in Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the evolving relationship between them is one of the best parts of the show. Let's analyze it.

Welcome to my channel! Here you will find analyses of Avatar: The Last Airbender and other geeky things. If you're an Avatar diehard like me, I think you'll like what you see.
The music I usually use in these videos is the Eryth Sea theme from the Xenoblade Chronicles soundtrack.

Thanks for watching. Adios, comrades!
A missed opportunity, essentially that betrothal necklace ties Zuko and Katara together ;)
It could be that part of the reason she was so hostile towards him was because his betrayal broke her heart.
Zuko justed wanted to go home why does everyone in the show treat him like he's a bad person in the show
finally someone who gets it, it seems like everyone believes after one moment of firendly talk and closeness between the two, they are have taken an oath to be forever loyalty to each other. The one Zuko really betrayed was his uncle not Katara.
Right? I see many people said that Zuko & Katara would be a toxic relationship, but Katara would not make it toxic. They are referring to Zuko. They think he’ll poison the relationship which is very unlike him. I’m just tired of people dragging Zuko into the mud in order to downplay Zutara
joel0joel0 who knows maybe she was hoping to get with him thats why she felt lead on xD
Facts
He did horrible things. Burned down Kyoshi Island. He did try to capture Aang on numerous occasions. He did betray not just Uncle Iroh in Crossroads of Destiny but whole world. And let us not forget Zuko sent a dangerous assassin after team avatar. Assassin who could have easily killed them. Zuko himself admitted that he made bad choices. And team avatar was very angry when Zuko showed up in Western Air Temple.
His actions in Crossroads of Destiny are especially inexcusable. Zuko saw what his nation did on his travels around the world, he saw Kataras pain, he knows Azula lied to him in the past. And yet he still chose to get back to life of luxury as a prince, and in his fathers good graces. Father who burned his face and never treated him well in the first place.
And you have to understand the victims perspectives. If I had to face a deadly assassin, it would not make any difference to me whatsoever whether the person who sent an assassin a conflicted antagonist or not. I will view this person as monster.
He's the captain of the ship. Only second to Dante Basco😆
@@luckymoon7276 Eeyup!
Joshua Fagon may be the captain but Dante Basco is the commodore.
I dont kataang I like zutara
Kataang was just an uncomfortable dynamic. Aang just seemed to young
same aang and katara felt like cousins or something it was really weird
He is 112
Godzilla Kaiju boy bruh he was literally in an iceberg for 100 years
@@nailahc.8615 I meant that Aang is technically 112 years old when they first met
I never thought that someone would make a playlist about zutara, but look what happened.
My favorite ship on the show !!!
This was a really good analysis! Well done!
I always thaught it says so much that even though Zuko joins Azula in Crossroads of Destiny he attacks Aang first, making it clear that he is after him! I think your comment "Katara asks him to follow HER" fits very well with this
when Iroh and Aang rescued them she gave Zuko one last look as if to say "come with me baby"
That hat tho
I think the way Katara viewed Zuko is the same way many fans view Azula. It is understandable. Given what she said and did. But if you look closely you can see why she turned out this way, and you can see that there is spark of tenderness behind her cold facade. Zuko wants to redeem Azula. If I was in Zukos place I will not abandon my sibling.
Point is that things are not always as they appear. Katara first saw Zuko as just a bad guy. But then when Katara matured and got to know Zuko better, she saw that there is more to Zuko than just a bad guy. The same with Azula.
Very thorough! Bravo 👏👏👏👏
LOVED THIS SO MUCH 😍
"A TRUE ship, as well as a good protagonist, guides the author's pen". Happy Chaos Guilty Gear Strive.
they have seen every part of each other. 😳😶😏
You do realize that they both already have love interests and neither “likes” the other.
Great analysis. Though could u use the animated shots and not the still ones, please?
Considering that 'Zutara' ship makes waaay more logical sence than 'Kataang', would it be posible to maybe rewrite at least some moments in book 3 to make that happen? Like picture this: we completely rewrite te majority of episode 2, so that cave dance thing doesn't happen. Then in the episode 'The beach' not only do Zuko and May broke up at that point, they stay appart for the majority of the season, instead just geting back together (try to imagine that campfire scene without May, because she chose to wander some place elsewhere). Then in the 'Ember island players', Zuko and Katara could grow consistently even closer, while Aang is being constantly pushed away by Katara. Then in the final four episodes, we remove the lion-turtle creature and mater-bending (because they are nothing more than a 'Deus ex machina), and alow Aang 'somehow' to grow even further. Yeah, as you can see, some big chainges are gonna need to happen to remodel the cannon a bit.
Maybe we can even add some more episodes for bigger chance for Zutara to develop, and them being in the final scene 'kissing'.
In a form of a comic book, maybe? We could even do something similar for 'Legend of Korra'.
Redemption arc, this is why im here.
Katara is one of the best waterbenders of course he would chose her she can bloodbend if needed despite her hating bloodbending why ahoukd her needs matter in Sozins Comet
there wasnt a full moon during Sozin's Comet

I’m also subbed on my personal account on UA-cam!
It would be great an analysis of how would be the relationship between the mother of zuko and katara, and the father of katara and zuko
You completely didn't read the comics
They have so different personalities katara lost her mother
Zuko find her mother alive
Aang literally care for everyone but he understand he can't take the airbenders back
Katara want revenge for her mother and she understands if she take the revenge her mother doesn't come back to life literally katara and zuko isn't the best duo in Atla and with some words is not even top 5
I don't talk romantic but katara and aang is way better writing together they had development together and everything together
Katara with toph also they had deep relationship not like zuko
Katara and aang Is much better than zuko and katara as duo because and our personalities and their moments isn't enough but nice videos but is wrong
ZUTARIANS!!! This is our theme song!!

You’re seeing romance where there isn’t. She was personally hurt because Aangs the worlds hope, for the war to end, and for the fire nation to stop being a threat, and after seasons of him trying to take that hope away, she trusted it could end, that he could stop being a threat and that there was more to his “villainy” than what we all thought at first. She thought he played the victim just for her to lower her guard so he could get to Aang, and that because of her being open to forgiveness she could have lost Aang. She thought he had tricked her and because she believed in him, it could have costed her Aang.
People just like to ship them because he was the bad guy and girls (kinks) like bad guys and forbidden relationships, plus when he let his hair grow he became more appealing, bet if he would have kept that awful pony tail they wouldn’t be shipping him with zutara, despite his redemption arc. I don’t think his change of hairstyle was a coincidence, it is a fact that even in movies they try to cast good looking people so they can get as many people as possible to watch the film.
itnotme u literally just made that up. What evidence is there to suggest that she was not hurt by zukos betrayal? She was! Which shows how much she cares about the connection she and zuko had.
AvatarLover101 I didn’t feel any connection between them whatsoever. And yes I made that up just as you and any other fan makes things up, it’s called making theories about things that the show left unclear or that different people may see in different ways
itnotme theories involve supplementing evidence from the show to support a claim. That is what a theory is if im not mistaken.
AvatarLover101 Everything I said was based off of the show, it’s the message I got as a viewer, and I did provide evidence I quoted Katara several times
itnotme how is their relationship good girl bad boy? U are completely forgetting zukos arc and basically saying that he was initially evil and that makes him a bad boy.
He didn’t steal the necklace, he just happened to find it...
Exactly..!
It's not like he returned it to Katara afterwards
@@danette26 what did you expect?Him approaching her saying :"Here's your necklace,I will be chasing you another time"?They would attack him and he'd use that opportunity to capture Aang
@@mp.6058 he did manipulated her using the necklace. He wasn't a saint. That's the point of his character
@@mp.6058 plus he found it, didn't returned it. That's not a "just happened to find it", Zuko did chose to use it to his advantage
I don't think that was the end of the romance.Yes maybe then but that doesn't mean they can't be together after the cave.
God loves you all♡︎
I understand Zutara being popular but I honestly like and prefer that they didn't end up together. It's nice to see two characters form a bond and develop a loving relationship that ISN'T romantic. People should learn to grow and relate to others without sex being involved.
I agree and I don't think by the end of the show they would even consider each other. For me this wouldn't have come until far into their adult lives they were always a slow burn atleast for me. Had Aang and Katara not become the canon.
To me over a culmination of becoming friends, and growing closer, and denying growing feelings. Then they would want to be together.
I didn't really want the show to end with the couples wrapped up. If Toph's final line was the way they closed the show it would have been just as amazing.
@@stephylynnpatch Romance should NOT be forced, that said if they DO wind up together it should be because it was meant to be, which is why Zutara works so well.
