I made a large dining table out of 2500 year old bog oak wood. Bog oak is fossilized oak wood that has been preserved in peat bogs for centuries. The acidic and anaerobic bog conditions prevent decay and give the wood a dark color. Bog oak is a valuable material for woodworking and other crafts. You can learn more about bog oak here: www.wood-databa...

Welcome to my woodworking channel. I am passionate about taking the most wonderful woods mother nature created and turning them into beautiful objects of day to day use. This is not a DIY channel about teaching the woodworking craft, showing you new and nifty techniques about how to build wooden objects or anything alike. It’s about celebrating nature’s beauty and providing inspiration for projects of your own.
Thanks for your support!

Como siempre, un trabajo hermoso y muy profesional.....mas alla de que el material es un trozo de tiempo e historia. Felicitaciones querido Javi.
Nice table. Has just enough feature to make it interesting. Love the wheel of time names for each table.
Thank - pumped you like it. Sweet that you found the Wheel of Time references :D

Thank you 🙏🏼 🤩
Awesome job!
Thank you for your kind words :D
Super nice table my friend! That bog oak looks so rich. Almost ebony like. I feel your pain on the epoxy leak, and nice recovery on the edging too. A true talent of a woodworker is how he deals with adversity during a build. We’ll done. The one question I have is what was the purpose of the OSB board? Was it simply used as a filler, or to anchor a portion of the C channel? I remember in the past you had used wood blocks as filler to save on epoxy, but I must admit I’m stumped. I also noticed the nano coating at the end. I’m going to have to purchase some for my next table top projects. 😁
Thank you my friend, I am also happy with how it turned out. Bog oak is so nice, but also so difficult to work with. It's a love-hate relationship I have. Yes, the OSB board is totally meant as a filler. I used wood blocks in the past, that's right, but I switched to boards when possible, because it saves more and there is less risk that a block suddenly loosens and floats up. And yes, the nano coatings are a must of dining tables at the moment. But a viewer found another coating that looks cheaper and promising, so I ordered it and I will check if it's similarly good as the N3. Did you start woodworking again?
@@Woodensoul Yup! Starting small. Lol I have an order for a sign to start with, and Lisa and I are doing two pre Christmas craft shows. I have a few interesting pieces I want to build, and have yet to see if my cousin wants more drum shells. I’m also starting to learn a little design work for future projects, something I feel is a must if I want to expand. We’ll see how that develops. 😂
Sounds like a lot of fun is on the horizon!!!
Taking tips from fellow wood workers like blacktail studios might improve your production dude
I always watch his videos. Are you talking about the leak?
