Seeing you recognize their vocals, harmonies, layering. I think you should react to Red Velvet Killing Voice , you can see their discography right there
This is the simplest RV song in terms of composition. You might want to explore "Psycho," "Cosmic," or "Russian Roulette" next to understand more about their musical direction.
Yess I love Red Velvet Their latest comeback COSMIC was inspired by the horror movie Midsommar You gotta react to Like A Flower It’s the solo debut of one of tue members!!!😊
RV release recording behind for almost all the new title tracks, but they are always 20 to 30min videos. A channel edit and mix all the parts in a track, it's interesting that you catch when they are doing adlibs-harmonies. Not everyone can catch some of that. This one is for COSMIC, maybe will be interesting for you check it after the MV too. ua-cam.com/video/4XkjlrzdhaQ/v-deo.html
Red Velvet is heavily influenced by late 90's, early 2,000's R&B, but they also have a fiercely experimental streak. They regularly get praised by music critics around the world for never playing it safe and always pushing the boundaries of the genre. In 2019, Korean netizens voted RV as the group with the overall best discography in ALL of Kpop. And it's only gotten better since.
SM's girl groups since 1997🎉 S.E.S BoA (soloist) CSJH The Grace SNSD (Girls' Generation) f(x) Red Velvet aespa GoT the Beat (female supergroup featuring members from 4 generations. BoA, Taeyeon and Hyoyeon of SNSD, Seulgi and Wendy of Red Velvet, & Karina and Winter of aespa)
Ohhhhhhh thanks so much for letting me know! I'd definitely wanna react to that supergroup so I know to keep clear of their songs until I'm ready to check them out! 🤩
Red Velvet are known for their vocals and layering, they are always a great listen. Sometimes just a tiny bit too experimental, as fitting for Aespa's big sisters.
You hit the "velvet" side of the RV concept; most of their tracks like this are b-sides. Red songs are more common title releases, poppier and sprightly, and come in two sub-types: the summer banger ("Red Flavor") or the witchy/supernatural/b-movie themed (Really Bad Boy [RBB], Zimzalabim, or Queendom). Even at its most experimental, RV is more accessible to audiences than their predecessor group f(x), underrated and overlooked even by SM itself! But also had some real bangers. F(x) was after SNSD but before RV.
Of all groups I think they have the absolute best harmonies and vocal layering. I listened to all their discography and every now and then I hear something knew in the production. On top of that their unique tones allow for some of the best sounding vocals in the industry. Also as you noticed the chorus has so many layers, they’re one of the groups where they all sing the chorus instead of this main vocalist/lead vocalist solos. I’d say about 99% of their choruses are sang together and they have mastered the art of blending their vocals together. Lastly they have the most levitation inducing bridges, not just their main title tracks but their b sides. Just listen to 3:35 - 3:40 how heavenly that sounds. None of their songs sound empty and even genres I’m not into are no skip because of how much work and quality goes into each song. They are the queens of experimental btw which is probably why they are kind of a hit or miss sometimes to the casual listener since a new fan can hear bad boy then a different concept and genre next comeback and be thrown off.
you’re now entering the zone of top-tier SM Ent.--EXO, Red Velvet (same company as NCT, Shinee, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls Generation, Aespa, Riize) …..excellent vocals & harmonies, diverse & superb discography, gorgeous visuals, adorable personalities 🎉🎶💛
Omg totally loved your reaction Could you react to Irene's solo debut “Like A Flower” (she’s the leader of Red Velvet) It just came out and it’s during promotion and it’ll be amazing to have as many reaction to support her Just suscribed❤
Thanks so much! So since I just started reacting to them, solo stuff unfortunately won't be next on my watchlist cause I still wanna get to know the group themselves music through their MV's. But I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future! Thank you!
In my opinion, for what I think you're looking for next.... go to Red Velvet's "Dumb Dumb". There's a lot to explore and their range is interesting, but I'd go there next.
For aespa was more like SM didn’t make another girl group for ages like 6-7 years, and snsd stopped being active so only RV for gg. RV finally got a baby sister grp ☺️, was during covid tho so not much interaction early on. RV and Aespa did a colab song/MV Beautiful Christmas, GOTthe beat, and Winter was on Seulgi’s YT channel HiSeulgi recently
I would only do that if I had a decent amount of extra content for everybody, but as of right now, I don't have anything cause I'm just focusing on music video reactions which will always be free to watch! But possibly in the future! I was considering reacting to guides, live shows, killing voices, behind the scenes and such on there! :)
