- In this video we look at FXpansion's BFD HORSEPOWER drum expansion for BFD3. We will look at the download, install, and authorization process; a quick overview, and then hear every drum and cymbal hit in isolation. After that we hear the included Kits and Presets.

BFD Horsepower is an Americana style drum expansion for styles like, Country, Southern Rock, Blues, ect... There are stick and brush hits for the drums and cymbals.
The samples come in natural, and two different kinds of processing. That means you can have mix-ready drums, or use the pure samples and apply your own processing. OR, even use more effects on the already processed samples.
Even if this expansion does not target your main style, the samples sound really good, and they are usable for more than just blues, modern jazz, country rock, ect... In fact, the snare in particular is amazing for metal! It has a distinctive crack and ping that is reminiscent of old Slipknot and Lamb Of God.

I'm really looking forward to this...love the Zildgian cymbals here. But wow, a 48 gig install? Doesn't matter, there's a lot of high quality stuff here. Thanks for taking the time to show the great sound of these drums. Now, if only FXPansion could fix BPM adjustment per Groove as the whole palette is being played...that'll be swell.

You can delete every pieces you don;t need after installing right from the folder
I have not been able to find the window in your left lower corner - The one with the Pictures of the drums.. Please tell me how you open this :o)
And one more question: Is the anyhow I can record with different velocity? I have only been able to record with the velocity I hit with my keys. Afterwards I can of course change the velocity, but it is not the same as hitting the drums softer or harder from the start.
The problem is that with the keys I have it is hard to to trigger the keys eg. softly.

Okay, last question :o)
First a few things that important to emphasize. If your trying to upload a drum and everything seems to be fine but it do not work and your BFD shuts down, remember to keep your Expansion under the core library folder - Not under the FX Expansions folder.
If you getting weird sounds (In my case the Ride) and it falls in and out at the end. Remove the blue cursors under TRACK. The place you move your grooves from the PALETTE.
Now to my question: How do I move both cursors to e.g.. the very end, where it will not interfere with the groove? One of them seems to be stuck at the start (A few bars in)
Not sure what you mean. Are you talking about the Position marker and the Insert Marker? They should not be interfering with your grooves. Use the Return to Start button to place the Position marker to the beginning. ALT click the timeline if you want to change the Start bar. But either way, you can still press return to start twice to take the position bar to the beginning.
Can be hard to find the grooves related to each individual package
Shitty presets is like a visit card of FXpansion. Anyway, love BFD. Best drums.
