For years, my vocals in my compositions sounded lackluster. Yep, that was before the advent of digital recording. I'm talking 2" tape, folks. Now, after watching Devvon's video, I am armed with incredible knowledge on how to improve the sound of my lead vocals. If they sound soft or disinteresting, I know how to dial in the fix. Thanks Devvon, you're a righteous guru, my man.

I just put 16 Multi Band Compressors(with 3 bands) on a vocal, yeah im a little crazy. It was for experiment purposes, but it sounded so good, that i keep it. The result is a VERY tight sound, very clear(obviously with good recorded vocals), right in the front of the mix, and very commercial sounding. With an EQ after you can achieve great results. After doing it, my creativity just went crazy, i was able to hear many more things production and mix wise.
I like to almost over-compress below 190hz and boost as much i compress.
My CPU still on fire but it was worth the effort. Great video!!
