While these may not be hidden secrets, they are 5 favorite finds from our 2022 visit to Puerto Vallarta! Regardless of whether you are wondering what to do in Puerto Vallarto Mexico when you get there or already there, we have ideas for what to do in Puerto Vallarta Mexico today!
The Malecon
This beautiful boardwalk stretches about a mile along the bay. On one side you will see the bay and statues by renowned artists. On the other side are restaurants, shops and bars.
Casa Traditional Cocina Mexicana
A local tour guide recommended this restaurant and Yelp confirmed it was a great place to have dinner while in the Malecon area. While at first glance it didn’t seem like anything special, the dancing fajitas, guacamole made tableside, mariachis, and margaritas made it a night to remember! If you are looking for something authentic, fun, and with great service, we recommend the Casa!
Rhythms of the Night Dinner Show and Cruise
While there are a lot of dinner show options, Rhythms of the Night is an evening of Circque De Soleil style entertainment. You start with a sunset cruise on Bandaras Bay. We were lucky to see some breaching whales! But it doesn’t end there - next, you’re whisked off to a candlelit dinner with an ocean view. And, just when you thought you would fall asleep on the boat ride back, the boat crew turns out to be a fun and eccentric group of performers who lip sync pop songs on the way back to the mainland. San Sebastian del Oeste
If you’re craving something less touristy and more authentic, take a trip past the agave fields and up into the mountains around San Sebastian. While founded to support silver mining in 1605, this quaint and well-preserved town now offers guided walking tours and provides a pretty good lunch at a traditional family-owned restaurant. Also taste locally grown coffee and boutique tequilas and liquors.
Massage at Ackua
Now here's a hidden gem! This small spa in the Marina district was perhaps our most surprising find. From the outside, it doesn't look like much but the massage was well worth the trip.
