Oh that’s interesting, it’s like a loop back to the first game where Joel had a choice who died, the doctor, and the nurses. In this way, she’s making a similar choice again but not to save someone but to avenge them

The story is about revenge though, it’s about forgiveness. Revenge is a vicious cycle that breaks people and both Ellie and Abby by the end are broken. If Ellie got revenge and left Lev because “He’s not apart of this” Lev would seek revenge and Part II would repeat but with Dina or JJ watching Lev as he kills ellie for killing his adoptive mother.

@@WOLFYKONIK You could, yes. But the point of the story is not whether Ellie dies or lives, i was just trying to make a point. That point being that revenge is a vicious cycle, it doesn’t matter who or how, revenge breaks people as we see with the ending of Part II. During the scene where Abby kills Joel, she has little to no satisfaction in her face and she enters this trance where she seems to almost regret it although she doesn’t specify it verbally. Joel didn’t know Jerry had a daughter, the next person Ellie kills she will never know who their loved ones are and if they’ll seek revenge on her next, it’s not just about Abby, but revenge with everyone and once again how it breaks people.

hey, would you do a characters height video? I mean, comparing each other. It would be interesting if you put the big seraphite with the pickaxe that grabs Ellie, i think its the same model from the lost levels, Seraphite Elite. Or also, the big seraphite boss that fights Abby.

NOOOO the whole point of the game is that the cycle of revenge is vicious and tears people apart, and ellie is ending that cycle by not taking further revenge on abby(no hate to u man it just kinda irks me when people think that ellie getting ’justice’ for joel is the point of the game)

@@AVA-oq5lmTHANK YOU finally someone who actually understands the story. That’s the whole point Lev is in a shot of that scene, to highlight his importance. If Ellie were to kill Abby and leave Lev alive because “he’s not apart of this.” Lev would seek revenge and the cycle would repeat.

For those that might "think" that this kind of ending would be best, over the ending we had, I highly encourage anybody to give a listen to the audio providen in the lost levels with Ellie and the Boar. It will make you understand the true meaning, behind that controversial ending, and probably the best setup for part 3.

The true meaning has lost ALOT of its value due to the course taken in the game, ellie killed hundreds of people on her way here but wouldn't kill the worst of them all, she threw everything away for the chance to put this worthless 2 time terrorist in its grave and didn't follow through just because they needed a 3rd game.
The fact of the matter is LOU2's ending only works only people who are extremely easy to manipulate emotionally. "You killed my dad who was a part of a terroist group that executes and bombs people because they stopped looking for a cure, that was going to kill the first and only immune person instead of doing any tests with a risky surgery just to make a cure to save the few people that don't die from clicker bites or breathe spores, that also didn't have the means or man power to produce, so now i joined another terrorist force and we are here to get our revenge!!!1!"
And now were suppoused to feel something for her just because "its just like ellie and joel see big rough rogue type and snarky kid with a bow" yeah no dog, they aren't comparable now ellie's story has nearly no potential at all and is better off never being picked up again, but abby found some other shitty terror lords, oooooh exciting!
The best set up would be ellie either killing abby and then taking lev under her wing until lev is better and forming some uneasy truce, or ellie killing abby and lev getting away to go find the fireflies join them and then slowly figure out the fireflies not only started the fight they ended up losing, but are horrible people, either way this game is where it ends for a massive part of LOU fans, many fans lost their favorite charcter(s) and have nothing to be conected with, our best hope is a tommy DLC that would cover whatever "bad thing" joel did in there younger years aswell as his rampage through seattle.

Dev menu of the game with a jailbroken ps4 or ps5. Not that hard really.

Now this is the mod we all needed. I was fully on the revenge train for Ellie at that moment in the game.

I like Owen the best out of every single character in part 2. After Joel died, I failed miserably to empathize with most of the cast, especially Abby's crew, but adult Owen was extremely kind, level headed, and just wanted to avoid drama and i hate that he died. That game killed the only 2 characters I like and assassinated Ellie's character as well. Which leaves me with one person I actually like, Lev. Not only that but I don't want to play as Lev and Abby in part 3. They really need to stop murdering the best, most relatable and realistic decent characters. It makes me not even want to see what the next game will be about. I just want to enjoy part 1 and feel good after playing it again, then play 2 and cry myself to sleep after and maybe go see my therapist for second hand PTSD.

I agree, he also was the least brainwashed of the bunch, helped scars willingly and decided to get away from all that mindless killing. Miles better than the rest of them.
The only character left alive that i like is Tommy, Lev was likeable but that character is tied to Abby so ugh.. if we get a third game and it's from their perspective i will only play it if they kill off Abby, that bitch didn't deserve to be redeemed. The pathetic attempts by devs to make us empathize with her story only made it worse for me.

People forget that it was Joel that started it all by killing Abbey's dad. Is it not ok that Abbey is allowed some form of Justice too? Imo she is the best character in the game because after she gets revenge, she shows that she can save a life too by helping Lev escape and she is not a cold hearted killer

Nope. Abby’s father began it all by attempting to perform fatal surgery on a child while never allowing her to regain consciousness long enough to give her a chance to decide her own fate. Ellie, if she had been given the chance to agree to the surgery, and time to spend with Joel before the procedure, is the ONLY one who could have talked him out of intervening. But he wanted to be the big hero, not be upstaged by a potential selfless sacrifice on Ellie’s part. Which is why I save the flamethrower for him.
@bammac69 maybe you are right, but fact is, he didn't actually harm her and Joel still killed him. So no matter what way you look at it, Joel still killed Abbey's father

@@sbcs2809 I don't blame Abby actually. It's more on the fact that this random chick who you've never seen before with about 20 minutes of screen time kills a character you have been attached to for seven YEARS. I like Abby, she's a badass, but that start didn't make it easy for me to like her.
