  • Cedars-Sinai patient, Connie Deline, talks about the challenges she experienced in diagnosing and treating a debilitating Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) leak.
Dr. Wouter Schievink explains how the search for a CSF leak begins with a non-invasive MRI scan of the spine. If that procedure does not give enough information, doctors can perform CT myelogram with contrast or the ultimate test, a digital myelogram, which is a high resolution scan that can show where the leak is when other tests have been normal.
After several frustrating years of bed rest and spinal tests, Deline was sent to see a neurologist who suggested she see Dr. Schievink at Cedars-Sinai to help make the right diagnosis.
