'... And night falls upon the city of madness. The choirs of the churches, crying out desperate pleas, as the bell tolls the song of night. The shadows long since lengthened, as the church bells toll of blood spilled upon the streets. The blades of the abyss, the knights of midnight, now stalk these roads of woe.'
Thank you Andrea, I definitely want to do more like it when I revisit Bloodborne for my second album later this year. Also want to do another The Old Hunters style song.
Thank you Lylee, I have a large playlist of dark fantasy here if you are interested in giving it a listen, might be some more you like 🖤: tinyurl.com/yc7vhzey
Damn, this is really great dark choir energies, the Descent is nice and troubling leading into the Abyss in a flow like a river almost of primal fears, well done! :)
What an amazing piece this is! A breathtaking journey which hunts you and drags you at will to several fantastic locations. I have to listen to this multiple times to filter out all the details you put in to it (that's the fun part for me). Thanks for sharing and big compliments for this composition.
Pretty good stuff here. I like how certain instruments swap between the foreground and the background like the cellos in descent and the tubas in Abyss Knights. The cellos seem to both foreboding and to allude to something more, which makes sense since it is called descent. The tubas at the start of Knights call for your attention and keep that foreboding tone but trades the alluring sensation for intimidation. Also, that ting~ in the background of descent, I'm having a hard time nailing that instrument, is it a triangle or just a high key on the piano? Reguardless, it pairs well with the bell tolls you hear throughout, especially since the ting stops in Knights, again reinforcing the intimidation. Idk if what I said really makes too much sense, I'm trying to learn how to dissect music so, that's my take. (Idk how I forgot to mention, the choir is on point throughout. Really like the use of solos in descent and the overlap in Knights. Also, that percussion in Knights is great)
I love that you try and dissect it as you do it's a great way to learn, I try so hard to do so with songs from games that I love, like pretty much the whole Dark Souls III album and lots of Bloodborne's music, Elden Rings ect.. The 'ting' sound is a high bell note in a sampler, used to create a ticking time-bomb sensation letting you know with each tick, you go deeper into the depths of darkness, which will eventually lead to in the case of the Abyss Knights (made after abyss watchers) being consumed by and becoming the very thing they tried to end, a part of the abyss. Phase 2 really indicates what that being consumed by the abyss turns one into. Strength found only from chaos and darkness where any shred of power found from morals and guided principals has been lost in that initial descent.
@@SolasComposer Well, kee0 doing what you love! I know I definitely love it, my favorites of yours so far is "The Old Hunters" and "Bearer of the Black Blade"
