This is insane bro. I'd like to see how this compares to the remastered version in terms of the time difference for the run. It would be interesting to see if they kept any of these tricks you use throughout the game
The reignited trilogy is quite different as its built from scratch in a modern engine. It isn't based off the original codebase in any way, meaning all the quirks and glitches used the originals don't translate. There are a few moments where the routes through certain areas line up though.
I know for sure that Gulp is different, bc everytime you hit him everything that's on the floor disappears. I don't know if there's a glitch to avoid that
@@jesaea The items are meant to disappear once he's hit. When played normally, when he hits the floor after being hit everything still in the arena explodes and you have to wait for the next round of eggs to drop.

You are absolutely amazing! I'm totally mind blown. Is this the US version release or the Japan version release? I've been wondering how did you manage to do all those things. I mean, I've been playing that multiple times already way back when I was a kid. I don't remember experiencing those glitches. I actually haven't tried those flame, charge, and jump combo that's why I didn't know those things could be done nor have I tried those areas that cause glitches the same way you did by jumping from one boss battle to another. But I did tried the gliding and clinging to walls and in each time I do that, I would immediately fall but in your run, Spyro just keeps on clinging to the wall. I've been wondering that part. Also the part when you charge then jump, I don't understand how you can jump so high that seemed impossible because whenever I do that, Spyro would just bump into a wall and I ended up falling. Was there a cheat or something? Sorry for my question. I don't mean to doubt. I'm just curious how you managed to that because my experience was way different when I did those similar things. Hehehehe.
I'll try to answer some things. Most of it comes from a lot of practice. This is the US release. The trick where I cling to walls known as a sproderman (spiderman/spyro). It's a super cool movement technique that can be used almost anywhere, but it's a bit weird to get used to. It's pretty much only known to speedrunners. Here's a video: ua-cam.com/video/icDVVj5L6Pk/v-deo.html I also have a "sproder into ripto" video on my channel with an input display. The "charge jump" is known as a double jump. It is done by holding x to jump, and then mid way through the jump while still holding x, hold square. You can't be holding a direction input or it'll kill the double jump. The timing of the square press is important when it comes to getting optimal height. Here's an old movement guide if you feel like learning some stuff: ua-cam.com/video/We3NOzyTJwo/v-deo.html There are no cheats used here. This was played on a PS2. Everything can be done on original hardware or an emulator.

Newbie question. How do you have the flame burst power up on all the time? I had to play with just fire breath for most of the game which makes it more difficult IMO.
You can see the process of me getting it starting at 9:53. In short, I skip into Dragon Shores and get out of bounds to acquire the infinite fireball powerup. Usually it's the reward for 100%ing the game, but you can get it early.
@Bluntbows RAD man. I just 100% the game myself yesterday for the first time. Never played it before. I missed the infinite power up at the end. Well done, though.
It would be interesting to know how many hours and nights it took to create the world record? To achieve this level of skill probably takes 500-1000 hours? most likely more
Wild estimate would be about 800-1000 hours (including practice) over the 10 months I ran the category. That's a super rough guess though, I can't really say for sure.
There's a "No Major Skips" category which has you beating the game in the correct world order. It exists outside of the main board categories however and isn't very popular. Record is 1h 59m 21s.
