This famous old kopitiam is like my home with my daily breakfast and lunch here. Its also my favorite tea over chat with my colleagues. The food are home cooked food and the owners knew almost every customers' name and their favorite orders. I believe many regular customers definitely miss the home brand coffee, kaya+butter toast and the curry mee. Hope the owners take a break and wishing them stay safe and healthy. When the opportunity comes, we love to see them open their shop again. All the best to Ah Mei, Lilian and Lily. We love all of you 💕
Please landlords of Malaysia, please waive or reduce rental for struggling businesses... this is too sad. We are losing our culture, our heritage, our souls...
Spot on.... At 1:10 she said about paying rent and salary using her own saving. Everyone here busy blaming the government and nobody realize it was the landlord is the main contributor of this business closures. For this 80+ years of heritage, can't the landlord being considered about them?
After GST was introduced, 30 per cent of businesses, mostly Chinese, closed down. Instead of 6 per cent, prices went up by 24 per cent. Of course, gov't refunded the difference but they were slow. Also, businesses did not pass on the refunds to consumers. GE14 was about GST.
Short and precise. Yes the 14th GE BN lost the elections due to the implementation of GST. The effects were great. The man in the street felt the most.
So sad, I like to drink their white coffee ☕ after taking lunch. It's almost 2 years dun get the chance to drink it after WFH for so long. The shop surviving on office crowds.
I used to go here many times. I hate the shops across the street which are always packed the door expensive coffee and hipster cafés that kids can't get enough of just to take pictures. I'm a 30+millennial and it's sad people don't want to go to this shop and rather go to the hipster cafés that replace this old shop. I bring my laptop and do work there drinking rm3.50 kopi peng. But kids prefer to drink rm12 latte now
Policies affect lives. Politician talk and only famous to get easy "political donations" of what ever the amount. (It's not breaking any law?) Do they really know how hard is to make money for common folks on the ground?
@@foreveryoung999 have you heard of decaf before? Kopitiams are hot to sit in coz they don’t have air conditioning plus the food is sometimes quite f*cked up.

Why kopitiam when we have Dome, Coffee bean, and Starbucks
Why have any of those when we have kopitiams in the first place lol
Those flashy name brands are all SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR. Kopitiams serve authentic FOOD
