      I can't come close to articulating, and I only speak English. This is what amazes me, which is the ability to speak a second language, and at the same time, not find a loss of words - the ability to formulate an evaluation in the mind, and choose without waste, words to express. That, and the knowledge and perceptive ability in reviewing this camera. Gdgt, thank you for the clip. Very objective, and engaging to watch.

      It’s probably his third language and better than some native English speakers. Great stuff.

    They say it's heavy for a small camera and if the camera is light, they will say that it feels cheap because it's light.
    You just can't get a break.

    Your English is better than most English people! The review is quick, intelligent and comprehensive. THIS is how to review cameras, or indeed anything. Note how the review does not start with "how's it going" or "what's up" but gets down to the business of the actual review. PLEASE - UA-cam reviewers elsewhere, watch and study this review to see how it should be done. Congratulations on a superb review, very well presented. Thank you.

      I agree ! To the point , covers all of the most important details and gives the " user's " first hand point of view without " brand bias " !

    You can also charge the battery of the camera through its USB port. A quite a big convenance for me when traveling.

    he mentioned it compares to Sony A6300 - I would say No - price on A6300 is $1050 vs $697 so $350 more
    No IBIS on the Sony A6300 - and GX80 has more features and it has Touch LCD -
    AF for stills the GX80 to me is faster and does better in low light - but yes the Sony A6300 wins in tracking focus -
    The GX80 is very much an underestimated camera - small size - lots of lenses available - lots of features - 4k Photo modes etc
    Sony has the larger sensor and higher MP count - so marginally better IQ - and better tracking AF - although lack of Touch LCD makes it hard to Pull focus -
    The A6300 also has overheating issues when recording 4k past 10-15min -
    Main issue with A6300 is lack of Native lenses - the GX80 can make up for smaller sensor using the say 25mm F1.5 and 45.5mm F1.2 lens as well as the 35-100mm F2.8 - but there are tons of Panasonic and Olympus lenses to choose from -
    nice video as always -

      Gx does better in low light?
      No m43 (even costly olympus with pro lenses) are good in low light and dynamic range like an aps-c camera.

      yeah seems like you pay 350 more for mic port :) consider this as luxury :)

    • @thatsreallyamoon
      @thatsreallyamoon 4 роки тому

      @@guardianobserver6593 Yeah he was a little generous on that. I think the GX85 does better in lowlight imaging due to the IBIS. Not because of some sensor magic that overtakes APS-C.

    This camera is a screaming bargain today in 2019. At least here in the USA, Amazon is selling it with two lenses (12-32mm and 45-150mm) for just $498. Nothing else comes close to offering so much for so little money.
    The newer GX9 is better in many ways, but it would cost you twice as much with two lenses.

    • @kenjepson1908
      @kenjepson1908 5 років тому

      Totally agree, a real bargain, I bought one today here in England for £375 ($458 US) with the 12 - 32mm lens, which is weird because buying a "good" used one from a reputable dealer would have cost me almost exactly the same. The picture quality with the 12 - 32mm lens is fantastic, I have a superb Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 lens which works even better with this camera, still to try my telephoto on it yet, I can see me using this kit a lot, an excellent all round buy.

    Many thanks. Just got this camera, £370 new. Silent shutter. Dual image stabilisation. The way the screen comes on when you need it. Viewfinder is for people with glasses not to be lived in as the screen is tiring to view. I wanted a good viewfinder but so far have hardly used it touch screen is so good. The sloping up position is rock steady and unobtrusive. Unlike the articulated screens. Thanks for heads up on the flash. Probably why it over exposes when it’s direct ? The images are the sharpest I-have had from a camera as good as my Leica lens phone or better. Compared to the similar lens on my PL1 the lens is sharper, sooth (you can hand zoom and get great results) , silent and fast.

    I have had this camera for 2+ years. Strongly recommended. Only issues are the Android app pairing and microphone quality.

    I think you need to rewrite your user Manual to make it user friendly. Step wise procedure with better illustrations is the need of the hour. Looking for the port to connect the cable is not that easy now. Operating HDM1 slot must be explained in a better way.

    I was researching for the ground camera for last month and I think this model should match out all my needs. I've decided to purchase gx85 what I did last week from Amazon. Can't wait for the delivery courier :)
    It will be my first mirror less cam and will replace my very old canon 450d (where there is no video option). Keep up with your reviews & greetings from Ireland

      @valdiskrebs566 5 років тому

      I have the EM10 ii and am very happy with it. Thinking of GX85 as a second 4/3 body. Both cameras can use Olympus and Panasonic lenses. GX85 takes advantage of Panasonic in-lens stabilization. Olympus in-body stabilization is currently better.

    Images are too darkened and too bright at the same time. Typical situation with sensors with lower dynamic range. So, I don't see why is so good camera.

    • @digitalspecter
      @digitalspecter 5 років тому

      That is not really related to the dynamic range of the sensor. It had more to do with the picture profile used, my guess is that the default profile has high contrast to appear more punchy and "pleasing" to the majority of people, you could change the JPEG processing profile. If you cannot recover the shadows and blown out areas in raw format then you have an incorrect exposure or the dynamic range of the sensor isn't enough.
