    Romero's case was different. He didn't get that DUI, he didn't scratch that 151 card, he didn't get flagged for cocaine, he didn't almost kill a pregnant woman. Jones had too many chances and was on very thin ice. Even if it was a tainted supplement, he is still at fault.

      1. He's a champion, he wants to be the best, not just a guy with 10 million
      2. He can make a 100 million, and this stops that from happening.
      3. He's invested months of training and effort into this fight, all of that just got flushed down the toilet, on top of that if he gets a 2 year suspension, then he can kiss his chance at glory goodbye.

    Athletes need to be very careful with what they ingest. My girlfriend is a professional athlete and gets tested for PED's. I have very high levels of testosterone and she had regularly been ingesting my sperm for a little over a month before being tested. This ended up elevating her testosterone levels and caused her to fail a test. True story.

    I took a communications class in college and we did a lot about body language. One day we watched footage of murderers denying what they did in interrogations and the most common way investigators know if someones lying is that when someone is falsely accused of something extremely damming that they didn't do, they get mad not sad... also the fact that he's apologizing for something he supposedly didn't do doesn't help either.

  • @__-re7rb
    @__-re7rb 8 років тому +9

    I might be reading too much into it, but given how smart Chael is, I wonder if he believes that Jon is innocent and is implying it by the way he structured his question;
    - He begins with a reminder on Jon's incomparable talent (reason to not need to cheat)
    - He commends Jon's courage for facing the media immediately after receiving the news (wouldn't a cheater not do any press or answer any questions for at least a day to plan out his next moves/statements, instead of freestyling excuses in front of the press?)
    - He then sets Jon up with a double bind implying innocence. (Jon answers optimally with "both", although either answer would've sufficed)
    I think Jon is innocent here and this might be another Romero type of situation. Either way, whether you like Jon or not, society needs to stop judging before all the facts come out. Due process and the presumption of innocence are practically dead these days and it ruins lives.

    • @thaniel_cg
      @thaniel_cg 8 років тому +1

      Thank you. Whether you believe it or not. Jones doesn't need anything for performance enhancement. Like they said. He passed every single test before this one last month. Just sucks that they weren't careful enough to really check out if supplements contain any violations. I believe Jon no matter who hates him, he's a all time great. Wish the best for him in his life. My favorite fighter and was very disappointed but I can't judge him.

    • @streetdreamz210
      @streetdreamz210 8 років тому

      +Nathaniel Chong-gum just cause you pass drug test doesn't mean your not taking drugs lance arm strong passed every single test before he retired they never caught him

    • @thaniel_cg
      @thaniel_cg 8 років тому +1

      +eduardo Terrazas yeah I understand he obviously was caught under a performance enhancement substance but it's unfortunate that he never thought this would happen and it sucks this fight couldn't happen. I believe he didn't intentionally take this cause he doesn't need it but overall it just happened that he obtained that substance and it is how it is.

    • @streetdreamz210
      @streetdreamz210 8 років тому

      +Nathaniel Chong-gum Dude EVERYONE IS ON STEROIDS! He knew intentionally what he's taking and he does need it if you don't dope you won't cope he would get murderered with out steroids just like every other fighter In ufc because every fighter is on some PED even Cormier is on something Forsure he was in the olympics lol I don't know man people are just so far from the truth it's crazy how you could say he doesn't need it but I understand I used to think the majority of athletes were clean and only scumbag cheaters cheat but than I find out the truth it's not even cheating if literally 100% of fighters are on it but That's just what you gotta do you want to be in the ufc you better find a good doctor and get some good gear because everyone else does and most these guys been taking gas since there college wrestling days and Jon jones has 2 brothers in the nfl and if you think you can make it in the nfl without gear it's over

    • @thaniel_cg
      @thaniel_cg 8 років тому +1

      +eduardo Terrazas gear is necessary to survive not getting hurt or even killed in the nfl. Whether or not they use drugs jones creativity in his skill for fighting is way different from almost everyone in the UFC which is why I say he doesn't need it whether or not he used it he fights smarter than most and tactical. Which is why he is considered the goat.

    Greatest athlete ever in UFC history, the emotion is real, sports play such a huge role in our lives, imagine being in the athletes shoes and being on the rise to have everything stripped away from you.. Absolutely this is real, and no one is to blame but him for it but I respect his talent, and I think he'll go down as either one of the greatest or just another statistic...

  • @jkc702
    @jkc702 8 років тому +8

    If people don't think professional athletes know exactly what they're taking, it's because those people are uninformed outsiders. I know and train with mma guys and pro bodybuilders... they ALL know EXACTLY what's being put in their bodies. The idea that Jon Jones - multimillionaire/celebrity/champion - doesn't know what he's taking is ludicrous.

    • @OriginalMindTrick
      @OriginalMindTrick 8 років тому +1

      It's naive to think otherwise. To plays devils advocate some legal over the counter supplements have been known to be tampered with illegal substances to boost their effectiveness.

    • @jkc702
      @jkc702 8 років тому +2

      True... but I'd hope a millionaire with managers/agents and nutritionists would know better. If you were Jon Jones, would you be taking "proprietary blend" supplements that could be tainted? One month prior to the biggest fight of your life? Knowing about the increased PED testing? I bet you wouldn't. Unless it's something you've been doing for a while. I've also seen some pictures recently that look like Jon has been injecting "something" into his stomach, probably HGH or insulin.
      The only reason why I'm so confident when I say "professional athletes know what they're taking," is because I've trained with and become friends with mma guys and bodybuilders. I live in Vegas and I've trained at Wanderlei's and Extreme Couture. My friend is a strength and conditioning coach for Wand Fight Team. If you want to see a pro fighter squirm... ask him if he's ever taken a banned substance.

    Anyone thats a true MMA fan knows, that competition is what keeps fighters going. And anyone will know that a 2 year suspension away from doing what you love tears you apart, knowing what you take so close and put so much time in is now 2 year away. You can tell this is genuine and out of his character. When one of the press said "they were speaking of a 2 year suspension" he legitimately looked like his damn life was taken away. Jones is an athlete and a damn great one, every has mistakes. And this dude deserves the damn credibility.. He never lost and this isn't a loss either.

      @ActronJimmy 8 років тому

      Lowell My question was referring to the denial of ingesting PED's. I'm not sure if he's lying or not. He seems surprised that that there was something in his system, but it sounds like he takes a lot of supplements, so it's really hard to tell. Also, a lot of athletes taking PED's will willfully deny, so there's that.

    • @lj3507
      @lj3507 8 років тому

      ActronJimmy Ah, okay. Until we find out the exact drug for which he tested positive, I don't know for certain if Jones is being honest. Testing positive for cocaine or elevated levels of testosterone, for example, is unforgivable. I really wish the guy sitting next to Jones had divulged that information because he said he knows what Jones tested positive for.

    • @ActronJimmy
      @ActronJimmy 8 років тому

      Lowell They said that it has to be a PED because cocaine, heroin, etc and/or prescription stims wouldn't be a violation. So it's definitely a PED, just not sure what PED. We should find out soon enough.

    Excerpts from his new book: 'Jon Jones' Guide to Getting Out of Trouble' a New York Times Best Seller
    1: People are susceptible to coercive suggestion. So whenever you get caught doing something bad just continually say things like "I'm really optimistic", "Some good will come of this." In this way you convince others that the bad thing you did is really a good thing!
    2: Got caught doing something bad? Just blame it all on God! Say things like "God has a plan", "God has a purpose." In this way it's not your fault anymore, it's God's fault!
