- The 8 bells in the tower are largely the work of John Taylor & Co of Loughborough, Leicestershire.
Treble, 2nd, 5th and 7th cast in 1950 by Taylor, the 6th recast in 1969 by the same company. 3rd and 4th by J, C & W Pennington 1776 and the Tenor by John Rudhall dated 1825. The bells hang in a cast iron frame for 8 by John Taylor dated 1950.
The bells go well and sound pretty good, although are a little quiet for me in the ringing chamber.
St Columb Major is a big village and lies about 7 miles north east of Newquay and 9.5 miles southwest of Wadebridge.
Here, we can hear the back 6 bells being rung to some Devon Call changes.
Tenor weigh's 12-2-4 in F
These ringers are a very very top best team from Shaugh Prior & thanks for the video ryan 😊 they go nice these bells!!.
Very nice bit of ringing, thanks for posting Ryan. Hope you enjoyed your visit and outing.
Many thanks, excellent day
Blinding bit of ringing. I've not seen people ring with a coil before. I'd have a knot, but what do I know?
Tidy bit of top ringing. Maybe a handful of faults if being very picky. 👍🔔
