Happy father's day. Thanks for taking us on the tour love doing things like this. It's so fun seeing how far we came and how they lived without all are things that make life easy today. The more we can live off grid today the better we are.
Extremely interesting. I have seen and heard others but it never gets old! I bet Buddy was needing out at some of those things and a hut down by the river would be cool, if it didn’t get washed away!!! Happy Father’s Day Buddy and to all the all fathers on Morrow Hill!
my grandma, MinnieMae, used to tell me stories as a child crossing Texas afraid of the "Injuns" as she was a child, it was in the late 1800's in a wagon. I cherish those stories, she gave birth to 11 kids in the barn, a very petite woman less than 100 lbs. They wound in Mississippi to sharecrop
Oh,you guys,I just really enjoyed that! And you asked the exact questions that I would have asked. You two are so cool together....thank you for taking us with you!
This is awesome, thanks for taking us along. I would have never been able to learn or experience this time period like you guys have shared !!!!!! Happy Father's Day,
This reminds me of the farm that is a historical landmark in NY. It’s a museum. And it was cool learning about the saw mill powered by water wheel. I love learning history of our country
Happy Father's day and I remember my great-grandmother cooking on a stove like that the old farmhouse just brought back so many of my childhood memories really enjoyed the video🥰
Happy Father’s Day Buddy. When I was small my grandma had a huge wood stove. It made the one in that house look really small. Her house was the story and a half. Wood frame and siding. My grandpa was a hog processor. Made sausage, liver mush, hams for sale locally
Happy Father's Day, Buddy! Thanks guys for taking us along on this tour! It was great. In 1967, I lived in a small farm house with my Grandparents. We had electricity but we had a hand pump for our water on the back porch next to the kitchen. Had to use an outhouse and I took my baths in a galvanized wash tub! To think back on those memories now it almost seems like a dream!
Happy Fathers Day Buddy. I have found watching this video series of your trip so enjoyable. I think you should definatly do more of these. Thank you for sharing a bit of history to those who can't travel... and pausing the camera on signs so we can read is great !
Thank you for sharing, that was an amazing experience, I lived in a village in Wales during the 1940's, lived with my mother at my grandparents house, my dad was in the army during WW2 serving in N. Arica and Italy, we had an outside toilet, no bathroom so had a tin bath brought in in front of the coal range, my grandad was a coal. Miner and came home every day covered in coal dust, Mt grandmother cooked some wonderful meals on the range, seeing the 1900 house reminded me of all this, I am 84 now and live in England, love your videos, so calming and interesting ❤ 🇬🇧🏴
My dad's dad, whom I never met, built a 2 story home in SD in the 1920's. My dad was born there, but then my grandpa lost the farm. In 1942, my mom's dad was looking for a farm site and purchased the same farm my other grandparents lost. 8-10 years later my parents were dating and my dad said he was born in that house. My grandma had one of those large cook stoves stoked with fire wood until the 1960's when my grandpa had the " new" house built for Grandma with electric appliances.......all except the old wringer washer. When I was 4, we lived in an older farm house that had the grates in the floor, where the heat came up from the main floor, my sister, who was 2 and I would lay on the grates to get warm at night.......it was also a great way to eavesdrop.......but at 4 you didn't learn too much 😅😅😅
From the 50's to the mid 70's we lived in an old house that had a big stove in the kitchen instead of a furnace. I remember well the grates in the floor to let some heat come up to the bedrooms. One year, we all woke up sick on Christmas. The firemen came and said it was carbon monoxide poisoning. We took the turkey out of the oven and all of the other fixings and went to the community room of the senior citizens apartment. We had our Christmas there with our parents and great aunts while the house aired out.
Thank you for the tour! I live in a house that is 129 years old and was built with servants stairs. It is a craftsman style 4 bedroom with stucco and a full basement. At the moment we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel. It has been interesting what we have found behind the old plaster walls.
How cool! If you ever make a road trip to NC you should visit Old Salem in Winston Salem. It is also historical site where you can see how they lived in in the south. Also Biltmore Estate is another place in Asheville.
Happy Fathers Day Buddy! Thsnk y’all for taking us along for the old town tour. I didn’t see a general store dud I miss it somehow ? I’ll bet PawPaw would love to your that little town , and he’d know a lot about a lot of those tools too! He’s probably got some of them ! In the big 1870’s house I saw the oval framed pictures of the husband and wife’s pictures ! My momma had a set of those frames pasted down from my step-fathers family , my sister his daughter has 1 and my brother his son had the other 1 my brother passed in 2014 and his wife still has that frame and won’t give it back to my sister to go with her matching one, which she should because it’s my sisters family heirloom and my brother and her marriage was a 2nd for both of them and they didn’t have kids together they were only married 10 yrs before my brother passed at age if 56!! God bless y’all enjoy the rest of your trip! ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
I was most impressed by the solid bank ceiling. Gorgeous woodwork everywhere. And the size of those corner stones in the house was pretty impressive. I personally would never be able to walk that much of the property. It was beautiful tour of then and now. Happy a great fathers day, Buddy. Safe travels.
Happy Father’s Day! Thank You Both this was an awesome trip to take with you. The tour through the farm was great I enjoyed it very much. Have a great rest of your day!
Thanks for the tour. My sister and I love history and historical areas like this. My sister and I have visited other places like this. I wish we could of seen this so it was so nice of you to film this for all to see. It was almost like being there.
Thanks Buddy and Stephanie...that was so interesting...thanks for sharing apart of the country I would otherwise NEVER see...I love history..HAPPY FATHER'S DAY...
That was so very cool! I loved the tour! Love all the antiques! Being 70 I have some and brought back memories from my grandparents house too! Thanks again and Happy Father's Day Buddy!❤
Thank you for taking us along on this awesome tour. I saw several items in the Flynn mansion that either my sister or I have, handed down through the family. I have my maternal grandma’s cast iron, including a round griddle cast in 1876. It is one of my very most prized possessions. My Granny used to say “If it isn’t in the “Monkey Wards” catalog then you just don’t need it.” Even in the 60s and 70s you could order just about anything and everything you needed. I ordered the best couch and bed I ever owned out of the Montgomery Ward catalog! ❤️🙏
Thanks for this. I have not been back to Iowa since my brother passed in 2018. But this is the Iowa I remember. The Iowa that raised me. I have lived in Texas 46 years, but Iowa will always be "home".
Happy Father's Day Buddy, and Thank y'all for taking us all on the tour that was very nice and I loved it. Very interesting era and I'm not sure if I would have been able to live way back then. I'm glad I was born when I was and very blessed to have the technology that we have now. Thank you again for sharing your vacation with all of us much appreciated 👍💯 keep up the great job y'all are killing it. Until next time everyone have a great rest of the day,👋
I volunteered at a living history farm years ago. I took my two year old grandson with me. It was Missouri Town 1855 so we wore the garb. He helped garden and other chores. He even would tell the visitors what he was doing and how and why.
Buddy I think the first time I heard about you Lester took us inside yoour hut in the woods I lived in ahouse when I was five that had an outdoor and indoor water pump, no electicity, no gas, We studied with kersone lamps and ate food cooked on a wood stove. We had one of those kitchen staircases that went up to the upstairs plus a formal staircase at the front door. I am 71 so this was not how most people lived at that time. It must have been a beautiful house in its day where I lived as it had fireplaces in all the downstairs rooms and they were large. But we were just a poor family with 4kids that needed a home while my dad learned the butchering trade at his cousins supermarket. This all took place for me in 1956/57. Thank you for this tour. We also had out buildings and a chicken coop. Deer right outside out back door. Now thinking back I do not feel sad I think what a unique experience for someone my age.
It’s in Des Moines in central Iowa it’s a vary amazing place it is open now and they have a website if you want to check it out. Just make sure you don’t go during some of the events otherwise there are no interpreters lol
When I lived briefly, about 9 months, in Missouri, and this was about 1970, there was an old property that had a log cabin on it, then next to that they had built a larger, newer home... and across the road, which was maybe a one car road, was the even newer home. I don't think I had pictures. Not like handy phones today. It amazed me to see homes that were log, small ones, and were being lived in still, and new siding put over the logs. Made me wonder how many of the "small" homes I saw were actually log underneath. I'm from Oregon and out here the farmhouses were large. Heading east into Missouri, where my husband was from, and I had grandparents born there in early 1900's, was that these large families lived in really small houses. This is a great video. Thank you.
Thank You Buddy and Stephanie for taking us on the tour with you. I love the church. It is so Beautiful. My Daddy has a huge Teepee that he puts up in his back yard once in a while. The Flynn house is so Beautiful. ❤️
Good Sunday morning, Stephanie and Buddy. Happy Blessed Father's Day, Buddy. I really enjoyed the farm tour. That 5000 square foot home, and the barn, wow ! Thanks for bringing us along 😊! ❤
Thank you for taking us along on your trip to Living History Farms, Even though I’m less than 50 miles away, I’ve never been there. I always said I lived it with no water in the house, cook stove, and an outhouse! ❤
Happy Father's Day Buddy!🎉 And thank you both so much for this tour. Not only were my mother's parents North Dakota farmers, my 1st and 2nd great grandparents were Red River Valley pioneers in Minnesota and North Dakota. And my grandpa had a big barn but that one was enormous. Lol. Again, thanks for the tour! 😊
I’m just gonna be honest, cuz that’s who I am. I wasn’t sure I would enjoy this video, but I watch anyway to support my people. Lol. But I really enjoyed it! Thanks so much!! Happy Father’s Day, Buddy!!
I live about a half hour away from there! I worked one summer at the 1900’s farm about 30 years ago. We worked in the garden, picked the produce and cooked a meal for guests and we all ate together.
I live in Ohio but I've had a heart attack & 2 strokes which prevents me from traveling even just to Iowa!!! I am living through your videos & experiences!!!
I live in Iowa an you just toured one of our most treasured places in Iowa. The school kids love it, the scouts too. We have 1800 baseball festival there, Easter egg hunt an many more great things. Thank for coming to our great state. ❤
Omg, memories from the past. My grandfather uncle etc were from, fort dodge, davenport, and des Moines. My great grandfather died in Armstrong iowa. I have several family members still live there. Great reminders of my childhood home. Blast from the past for me. I was 5 before having indoor plumbing in Gilmore city Iowa. The upstairs were always cold even when 100 degrees outside. Heated from stove in the kitchen.
The old white farmhouse- I remember my aunt and uncle lived in one like it. I remember cooking on stove just like that one. It was great memories watching your video. ❤❤❤❤❤
Stephanie and Buddy ❤️, that was awesome, thank you for sharing it with us. I love that time period. Happy Father's Day Buddy. Love y'all and God bless you and your family 💕❤️💞
Good morning from Norfolk, Virginia! I was listening to your video over coffee and getting ready for work this morning. Thank you for sharing your trip. When you mentioned the Iowa tribe, I stopped in my tracks. My mom’s family is Native American and members of the Iowa tribe. This part of the tribe she was in is of Kansas and Nebraska. They originated from Canada. It hasn’t been until recently, I have been learning more and more about my mom’s father in which is our Native American side.
I’ve not driven through a sandstorm but many hail, snow storms, blizzards. And microburst. That’s like a sideways tornado. You don’t see it except if there are things flying around, but it blows everyone sideways. You pray that everyone’s hands on the steering wheels. Moved my van at least 4 feet over. I was in the passing lane, having just passed another vehicle. He was in the lane behind me when I looked in the rear view mirror.
That was cool! I went to a home in Rhode Island that is like a time capsule - very wealthy family - right on the ocean - full of items that were actually theirs (there was an actual waterfall in their billiard room! And the fireplaces were like walk-in size) It was beautiful! I love visiting homes that were actually happy homes! Thanks for this - Happy Fathers Day, Buddy!
There is a small town approx 15 mins from where I live called Wainfleet, Ont. Canada. It was called Marshville years ago, every Labour Day weekend they have “Marshville Heritage Festival” with all the older buildings (school, church, store, blacksmith shop etc. It is very interesting to see how our ancestors made a living and survived. Thank you for this amazing tour. You can google the festival and see what they have.
Thank You for sharing your trip. I can't travel anymore and I love history! The farm house reminded me of my Grand Parent's farm house. I have a picture on my wall of it. When the new owners bought the farm they had propane put in and the house exploded. It's now a gulf course. My Grandparent heated with wood and had that same stove to cook on.
Once again, y’all have hit it out of the park with this video. I’m a history buff so I love, love these types of stories. Love the old barns and houses snd just the whole video!! Great job guys. Thanks for bringing us along, I love it
Hello Buddy and Stephanie. What an interesting place to stop and visit. Wealth of knowledge and history before your eyes. Thank you for bringing us along so we can see it too. Reminded me a bit of my favourite programme when I was a little girl little house on the prairie. Great choice of a stopover. Happy Father’s Day Buddy hope your have a fab day. Take care and God Bless. 💕🙏
Good evening Stephanie and Buddy. Omgosh what a tour of the Living History Farm. The buildings were very interesting, and detailed to the max. That printing machines we did one in high school in our Accounting/typing class and played with the lettering and ink but more modern that was. Going through some of the rooms and seeing the pitcher and bowls sets reminded me of some that my grandmother and mother had but unfortunately now all gone same with some of the china cabinets, buffet chuvinear a long not very wide table top and mirrored dresser that had 2 side openings, middle drawers, and corner nicnacs shelves and one long drawer that we put blankets and such in. We have a national park where I live that is called Motherwell Historic Homestead from the 1900's and they have demonstrations, tours, similar to this place. Thank you for taking me along and showing what I would've never seen in real life. If I look through some of the old pictures may be able to find actual pics of these items. Stay safe and can't wait for the next video.
I also enjoy going to places that showed how life was a long time ago. Williamsburg, Virginia is where we took our kids several times and we always had a good time wondering how they managed without all our modern conveniences. Thanks for sharing your visit.
You would enjoy Shaker Village, near Harrodsburg, Kentucky. You two are a pleasure to walk with, you have wonderful respect of all you see, ask pertinent questions, in a relaxed way. Thank you for this day.
Buddy and Stephanie. I must say you have the best and most interesting videos on Morrow Hill.......not that I don't love the other's. .....I do. I just give you both #1 thank you. 🏆 ♥ 🙏
Thank you for bringing us along. I enjoyed that. I bet gigi would have loved that. She has said she loves old buildings. Houses and churches. I love old places like that as well. Thanks again!! ❤❤
Wow! This video showcased two really neat places to visit! The Living Farm especially interested me because I really enjoy opportunities to step back into time! Yes, the kids would really enjoy it, too!
Happy father's day. Thanks for taking us on the tour love doing things like this. It's so fun seeing how far we came and how they lived without all are things that make life easy today. The more we can live off grid today the better we are.
Wow! I love seeing historical places, imagining what it would have been like living back then.
Happy Father’s Day Buddy! Thank you guys for taking us along on the History Farm.❤️❤️
Thank you so much!
Stephanie thank you for noticing the maid's quarters
Oh,you guys,I just really enjoyed that! And you asked the exact questions that I would have asked. You two are so cool together....thank you for taking us with you!
This is awesome, thanks for taking us along. I would have never been able to learn or experience this time period like you guys have shared !!!!!!
Happy Father's Day,
We used to have a few places like this around, with people who cared enough to participate. Thank you for showing it to us.
It was pretty awesome and the period actors were very knowledgeable.
This reminds me of the farm that is a historical landmark in NY. It’s a museum. And it was cool learning about the saw mill powered by water wheel. I love learning history of our country
Thanks for taking us on your trip! I certainly learned a lot and I really had a great time with you guys!😊👍🇨🇦
What an amazing show of history, is it bad I’m wishing I lived then, even with all the hardships
Happy Father's day and I remember my great-grandmother cooking on a stove like that the old farmhouse just brought back so many of my childhood memories really enjoyed the video🥰
Thank you Julie!
Happy Father’s Day Buddy. When I was small my grandma had a huge wood stove. It made the one in that house look really small. Her house was the story and a half. Wood frame and siding. My grandpa was a hog processor. Made sausage, liver mush, hams for sale locally
Very cool! Thank you!
Awesome! And thank you!
😊 OMG BUDDY LOOKS Like JESUS
Happy Fathers Day Buddy. I have found watching this video series of your trip so enjoyable. I think you should definatly do more of these. Thank you for sharing a bit of history to those who can't travel... and pausing the camera on signs so we can read is great !

What a awesome place. Thank you for sharing all the fun you guys! ❤
You can hear Buddy's beard every time he moves his head 😂😂😂
Thank you for the tour! I live in a house that is 129 years old and was built with servants stairs. It is a craftsman style 4 bedroom with stucco and a full basement.
At the moment we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel. It has been interesting what we have found behind the old plaster walls.

Living Histories Farm is among the eight best museums in the country to depict this time period in such derail. (I looked it up). Wow what a tour.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY BUDDY. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR VACATION WITH US. THIS WAS SO AWESOME
THANK YOU STEPH FOR TAKING THE VIDEO.
My parents lived 8 miles away from. Living History Farms. I took my sons there in the 1990's. Your tour brought back great memories
Gardens, ice rinks, going into bush to cut firewood for the wood stove which heated house and was used for cooking of course 😊
I can't get enough of this farm..I wish I didn't live in Oregon, however I would love to volunteer at this place
The old white farmhouse- I remember my aunt and uncle lived in one like it. I remember cooking on stove just like that one. It was great memories watching your video. ❤❤❤❤❤
The history farms were very cool. I think more people shpukd see what it was like. Thank you for taking us to see these. ❤❤❤
Farmer's Museum in Cooper's Town NY. It's where I found my love for spinning ,weaving and quilting❤

Happy Father's Day Buddy. Love y'all and God bless you and your family 💕❤️💞
Happy Father's Day buddy
Thank you so much for taking us along! I Love history and can’t get enough 😍
Happy Father's Day Buddy! have a great day
That was amazing! Thank you! So glad they didn't mind you recording as you did the tour! I could spend hours there! 🥰❤
I love the energy you and Buddy have…some kids never grow up!😊
Happy Father’s Day Buddy!! This was so amazing loved the tour “thank you” for letting us come with you!!! Really enjoyed this super cool!!!❤️🙌😊😍
Thank you Raquel!
Thank you for taking us along. I live in Iowa and have never been but always wanted to. Thank you again.
I love historical places 💜🇦🇺💜🇦🇺💜
Well that was fun. Thanks for sharing.
Thank y'all for the tour of the living farm. I love love history. ❤❤
This is awesome, to go back in time. It’s good for kids to see these things too. Thanks for the tour.
Happy Father's Day Buddy!! Beautiful Tour. Thank you for inviting us..
Happy Father's day Buddy tnamk you and Stephanie sp much for taking us along on your trip.
I also enjoy going to places that showed how life was a long time ago. Williamsburg, Virginia is where we took our kids several times and we always had a good time wondering how they managed without all our modern conveniences. Thanks for sharing your visit.
Happy Father’s Day Buddy
Happy Father’s Day and thank you for a great time
You would enjoy Shaker Village, near Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
Happy Fathers Day ❤❤
