Hi Helen. Thank you for this video. I am 88 now and have recently not been feeling very well and lost my appetite, but after seeing your mum it encouraged me to make the salmon potato and broccoli for my dinner. It is in my air fryer now so thank you to your mum. She is lovely.

My dad is 93 and when my brother bought him an air fryer we all said he’ll never use that. He’s not one to embrace new technology. How wrong we were! He uses it all the time and barely has the oven on.
Mum is the same, though she knew she would as she asked for one! haha xx
I think they come into their own when cooking for one. I frequently eat a different meal from my husband and find my airfryer absolutely great.

Hi Helen. How lovely to see your mum again- she’s marvellous and I do hope the knee massager will help with her pain- it certainly seems to be so far. She is so independent and at ease on camera- quite the professional! I love the fact that she’s so willing to try out new devices when many elderly folk just hold up their hands and refuse to. A very special lady. The New Forest ponies definitely have the freedom to stroll down the roads in that area but they are so beautiful and remind me of the Exmoor ponies in the area I live whenever I’m in the U.K.💖🌸

No I haven't got one either! I mostly use my benchtop little over which I like. Wonder if would use airfryer & get used to guessing cook times.
Another one here who doesn’t have an air fryer. I did recently buy the ninja two drawer from JL but sent it back after trying it. They’re not for me i prefer to use my oven …plus I bake a lot.

I watched you make your Mums lemon bar cake, your 6oz-3 egg mix. I decided to make it but had no thoughts it would be fantastic because you throw it all in together. I made it, put the lemon juice with sugar on top, cooled it and just like that it was gone. I have had compliments and pleading to make it again ever since...I can't believe it tasted so good, but its the best cake ever and so simple. Thankyou Helen and thankyou Mum, you have won me over, its the 6oz cake for me in future. Love and peace. 👍🇦🇺

I’m 63 and my parents are 84 and 88… I had to laugh when you were talking about your husband saying he was going to darn his socks.. I haven’t heard that word since I was a kid. Before my husband and I married we used to live in Southampton and made regular visits to the New Forest, including Beaulieu!
Our first ever trip into the new forest was fairly soon after we started dating and we often tell this story - I turned to him, soon after we got out of the car and started our walk, and said “I have told people where I am, and who I’m with! Just in case you have any dodgy intentions!” Fortunately he saw the funny side and we still have a laugh about it now!

Your Mum is lovely Helen. I cannot live without my toaster oven air fryer. In South Western Ontario from end of April until end of October non stop sunshine and really hot temperatures. Today 24 degrees. The air fryer is a G-d send. Quick easy and I don't heat up my whole home. For a single person ideal. In July and August we hit 31-32 degrees and with humidity it feels like 38 degrees. Air fryer to the rescue.

Great to see your Mum again. She has that wonderful temperament that says I won’t be beaten and I will keep up to date. She is an example to us all. I must say I have been resisting an air fryer but I am coming round to it more and more. Love the new forest. A lovely place to live. Thanks Helen. Hope you were able to put your feet up later and had a full nights sleep, for a change. And no more holes in the socks, or as we say ‘up north’ potatoes!

Lovely blog, your mums amazing. Your drive took me right back to when I worked in the forest, loved seeing the ponies but the cows wouldn’t move for anyone and took up the whole road lol still remember having crab sandwiches in Lymington sat on the harbour wall, it was a different world x

Thanks Helen for the blog. I love how practical your mum is just like my mum was when you have a big family. Brilliant to be able to have an air fryer these days as the food looks lovely and it’s quick. We had a new kitchen and I have a double oven so I won’t be getting an air fryer yet as I’m worried I would not use my new oven at all🙃 we never had any ready meals when we were at home mum always cooked from scratch even though she worked as she wanted us all 4 girls to have a good start in life. So different now but I’m still old school you really are what you eat. Take care xx

I so glad you said the wild deodorant wasn’t as good as you thought it. I bought myself one and from the get go it made me smell horrible even my hubby commented on it. I’ve gone back to my regular Mitchum clinical Gel one I’ve never had a problem with it. I bought my dad who’s 94 an air fryer 4 years ago for Christmas he looked at me as if I’d gone mad. About 6 months ago it went kaput he was on the phone in a flash saying can you order me another one . He’s not used his regular oven for year between the air fryer and his small slow cooker he’s got it off to a T . Hope your mums knee is getting some relief. X
