There couldn't be, his style of play would be too suboptimal to be competitive these days. It's almost like professional players have gotten too good to be fun.
Higgins is the GOAT. Didn't win enough World titles. Didn't win enough titles period. Not consistent. And I still believe he is the GOAT. Played shots that nobody, then or now, could or can play. Robotic, precision play that we see today was a direct consequence of this man pulling out relentless genius shots. Players had to win games in one visit, because he could pot and get in from anywhere on the table. There are many more videos of many more outrageous shots he played. But he was an awesome safety player too. He inspired Jimmy White and Ronnie O'Sullivan, and if you watch Steve Davis interviews, he actually loved Alex too, whilst simultaneously being terrified of him!😂 Alex made snooker. He made it exciting and entertaining. He was a flawed genius, but he was always The People's Champion.
Gently into the centre pocket. Of course, here it's hit as hard as possible, have it get airborne, roll along the rail and drop gently into the centre pocket. Alex Higgins was a star.
Love you’re getting this but some of these shots real genius is the angle he gets the white to come off the cushion, watch….it’s not a natural angle and he hits the white with the right pace and cue position on the ball so the white comes back on itself spinning
I stopped watching Snooker After Alex Higgins, it lost it's real maverick entertainment value, miss those days.. also, probably been mentioned before but imagine watching on a black and white tv like I used to as a kid in my bedroom!! Interesting... (Shropshire UK here btw, do like your reactions, thank you for bringing back some memories!)
The shot at about 6:05 was part of a doubles match. (Whatever happened to pro doubles matches..?) Higgins was partnered with White (presumably Jimmy). Now *there's* a scary pairing...
He was by far the best player in his day and just amazing to watch as you never new what he would do new such a shame that alcohol and drxxgs got hold of him R.I.P
One thing for sure, there will NEVER be another!

The last 2 were flukes, but the one with 5 cushions, he for sure played that.

The word your looking for is Genius, end of
Alex Higgins , Jimmy White and Ronny O’Sullivan my favourites of all time
He is the only player that just absolutely Hammers the Q-ball on every shot, there is no slow n easy with Higgins

Alex ' Hurricane ' Higgins, a legend ! Edit : That last shot was nuts !!
It was good but not right
Say what you see@@MarkMoylan
My favorite shot ever in a snooker competition.
The one of the bumper was a fluke, the red was supposed to go in the left middle pocket
We just marvel at the shots..
Great reaction.
THIS is how you play snooker.

He’s was incredible - I remember watching with my grandpa . It was a miracle he could even hold the cue let alone be world number 1 .
I think he could just see everything way ahead of everyone else .

He did all of this while drunk!
Ronnie O'Sullivan can't hold a candle to this feat!
