Ani and Kars were part of the modern Republic of Armenia until 1920 when it got invaded and annexed by Turkey, and its Armenian inhabitants that didn't flee were all murdered. Much of Ani's historical buildings were subsequently demolished by Ataturk's government during the 1920s, and even into the 1970s ancient Armenian sites were being demolished by the Turkish regime.
None of Ani's buildings was demolished when Turks retook it. Ani was alreadly in ruins and didn't have any inhabitants in the early 1900s either. Kars had remained a Turkic-ruled (Seljuk, Aqqoyunlu, Qaraqoyunlu, Safavid, Ottoman, Afshar, Ottoman again) land for almost a thousand years until Russia invaded it and gifted it to Armenia. A majority of the inhabitants of Kars were Muslim (Turkish, Azerbaijani, Kurdish) back then. Armenians aided by Russians committed ethnic cleansings on the Muslims. Most of the Armenian inhabitants of Kars fled to Armenia and the Samstkhe-Javakheti region of southern Georgia after Turks retook it. Why are you lying?

Hurts to see Ani so desolate and in ruins. Seeing some of our ancient heritage slowly wither away in Turkey hurts. I would love to be able to visit it one day, but I'm afraid that day is far away. Thank you for this video, it was wonderful and so informative ❤
