    Items needed to add soles:
All purpose Cement Glue (I used Weldwood Cement Glue by DAP products, purchased in the local hardware store)
120 Grit Sandpaper (Not absolutely necessary but it helps)
A pair of cheap flip flops the size of your crochet shoe or one size larger (I suggest you use a plain color vs. polka dots as I did). You can cut off the bottom of the flip flop plugs and glue them into place to cover the holes, I chose not to but it is a good option).
Just a note: The shoe pattern that I have in my etsy shop is a step by step photo tutorial.

Hi, could I use this same method for attaching leather soles to knitted boots? also will it be washable?

Hi, I am honestly not sure. Knitted material is thinner than crocheted material. My crocheted soles are doubled therefore the glue will not seep through the material when I add it to the sole. Cement glue is very strong, so it's definitely washable.

    Would hot glue work?

hot glue is pretty sturdy but I'm not sure how well you can smooth it out on the sole

have read elsewhere that hot glue does not stand up to wear and tear.. one is better off using a stronger glue or contact cement.
