- This video was made just to appreciate the vocals of some drag queens as many of them have quite good voices! I tried to use live clips whenever I could. The order literally means nothing I was just trying to mix up the seasons and singing styles. Who are your fave singers from drag race?
This isn't to shade Monique's comment I'm just using it as clickbait pretty much (she probably mentioned more people and they cut it) hence why I put her in at the end along with her mentioned singers: Adore and like the only singing clip I could find of Jujubee? Idk how Monique knew she was good bc that song wasn't even out yet lol.
I'm sure I missed some but I didn't want it to be too long and I wanted a range of seasons as well as queens who we forget are as good as they are etc. Some queens I wish I could use more clips but I tried to stick with 2 no longer than like 20 seconds each. Honourable mention to like Peppermint, Miss Fame, Shea Coulee and other queens who you should definitely check out too I just couldn't fit them!

trixie doesn't do a lot of crazy riffs or runs, but her voice is one of the most consistently in tune. her live performances sound just like her recorded vocals
yeah she's just like essential with her singing, which is great.
She's not a "singer" singer, she's a composer, she convey emotion trhough the composition and melody rather than crazy voice technicalities. If anything i'd say that trixie is the only queen that i would describe as a fully realized musician

The magic about that particular range in your voice is that, if you train yourself, you don't need much air per unit time to produce the note, and you can comfortably project it for a while.
You could see lungs 1 & 2 run out and that 3rd one just kick in.

Ayush Sharma Right, there were loads of good singers on that season. There has to be some sort of weird reason they didn’t do it. Maybe because it woulda put some people at risk of going home who they needed to stay longer. Season 6 did it TWICE when they only had 2 queens who were singers 🤷🏼♀️

I’d also like to point out that a lot of them are singing in corsets, which makes this all even more impressive imo
On the contrary, if the corset isn't tight laced it might actually make it easier. If you have something pressing against your diaphragm a bit it actually helps with vocal support.

It's actually not that hard if the corset fits in the right way. And I know what I'm talking about I performed one production beauty and the beast in the role of bell and Alice the opera in the role of the red Queen in a really tight corset (I couldn't eat more than 6 grapes in one sitting)

@@toninomatalone7323 it's a very difficult skill to master and stay in tune/have a large range with (for biological men) so i wouldn't say it's overrated but you definitely don't need to belt to be a good singer

9:18 my favourite song ever, from any drag queen. There might be some queens with more powerful voices than Trixies (Jinkx, Ginger...), Trixie just has great musicality and I love how she combines her drag and her music (although she admitted that she didn’t want to combine the two, at first).
