Sono tutti bravissimi in questo esplosivo Viaggio a Reims, ma io stravedo per il Conte Libenskof, alias il rossinianissimo Michael Spyres ! Per fortuna esiste questa registrazione anche se incompleta. 🤩🎶🎶😍
Just adore Rossini and this neglected masterpiece as well. Charles X had to be so grateful to Rossini for such brilliant tribute! The whole cast is just wonderful. And Michael is especially. Both vocally and dramatically. Bravo, Mr. Spyres! And thank you, Mr. Fischer for sharing. May be you could also post something from Meyerbeer's L'africaine from Frankfurt? That would be very appreciated.

For me it was one of the most enjoyable performances. Indeed what a pity we can't have the complete opera.

The opera is asinine to watch
Its not even close to the most absurd one. The french kinda have that locked down. Le contes D'Hoffman is possibly the most ridiculous thing ever staged
