I'd imagine a big chunk of the players who can benefit from these tips are best off honing their craft in 5 lap races where they won't feel the disadvantages of those setups. After that they can work on moulding setups to suit themselves for longer races.
Controller player here: Recently turned off gears and tc, gears made me faster but tc set me back. I cannot use a wheel due to physical health issues. I don’t know what to do to improve. I get these good setups but cannot ever improve and turning off assists is not letting me make good progreds
like all things it just takes time, after about a month of no tc you'll most likely be faster and more consistent, its just about admitting that you might be slower for a while before you get used to it, then you can start to get faster
Trailbreaking is harder on controller I came to find out. I get to 100% on the brakes with 80% of my trigger pressed. And for 10% either way I don't get any breaking. Maybe its just me, but its what I experience.

Wouldn't a setup of someone at the top of the leader board be different for people playing on the controller ? Surely, a wheel setup wouldn't work on a controller
Speaking from my experience in other racing games, a good wheel setup can still help you gain time, though it might not be as stable or optimised for your controller experience. Also going for setups that aren’t at the very top but still close to it, often gives you a more stable setup to work with than the crazy things the absolute top race with that are on a knife’s edge
The only assist I use is gearbox. I’ve tried turning it off in multiple games, I can’t for the life of me figure it out. Can you make a full tutorial as the ones I’ve found dont help a lot. Also if anybody knows a good tutorial or tips they would be greatly appreciated
Wdym by tutorial. When the engine is doing weird noises, upshift, when you see a corner ahead brake and downshift. There's a recommended shift gear in assists which tells you the gear you should aim for. That's all

After hours of playing you just get the feel automatically and always shift into the right gear without even realising. Same applies for no abs and no tc. I play without any assists and wouldn't be able to teach others how to master it. I just do it automatically and no idea how 😂
a lot of info's are False, Dont always look at the ghost, Look at it a few times, but DONT do Turn in like 800 meters before the Corner, when the Ghost turns in when its infront of you, Assists is all about time and practice, Go as low as you can Comfortably and keep working at it, The setups in TT ARE NOT. Race Setups. they are TT setups. they may be worse on tyres etc, MAKE SURE to learn about setups and what what does, PLAY around make a setup that SUITS you.

Time trial setup copying isn't the best idea. They are optimised for singular laps, not going a whole rsce with them

It's still possible to adapt these setups into a race setup, good baseline at least

Just make sure that you load the setup in the garage 5 times couse if you click it only 1 time than it may not load the full setup
Learning trail braking and manual gears shaved over 1.5 seconds for me.

I am a old school simracer, so i always go back to first and second, tried this weird not going below 3th and i gained 2.5 seconds...

Well, I'm sure u know but setups are somewhat individual, plus a good setup won't make you faster if your lines and technique are bad

Just practice and you'll eventually get used to them, manual gears in every racing game makes it way more fun and grants you more control to drive

If you reconfigure the buttons to have the gears be on the bumpers it’ll probably feel more comfortable and natural.
