The simplest answer is I'd personally want them to make another story-driven single player game. Dota and Counter Strike have them covered down for multi-player, so why not go for another Half Life or Portal? Within that, I'd love it if they tried branching out into a totally different genre. I've always been a big fan of point and click adventure games. I'm not saying they should necessarily make a game with zero combat, but I think if Valve made a puzzle-first, narrative-driven adventure game, the team there could do something really special.
